How many repetitive coin project that we need?

Btw, my friend own zano.com domain name.

He hold this domain name for 1 big fintech project.

He and his group even reg trademark the "zano"  name.

Hope it not gonna get conflict with this project.

Since you're both share similar name.

They already spend hundred of k to develop 1 fintech mobile application that they were ready to launch at any time.

I will show him this thread.

Zano is a short catchy name, like many in crypto, its not unusual to clash with real world names, a quick search will tell you that.

Here zano is used by a kickstarted project for drones: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/torquing/zano-autonomous-intelligent-swarming-nano-drone
And here you can find a trademark registered for a food company: https://trademarks.justia.com/856/42/zano-85642647.html

As for being repetitive this aint just a plain fork from a github repo like most coins.   I wouldn't call MimbleWimble a repetitive coin project just like i would call zano one either, they wrote most of the code in both case.

Heres one for GRIN: https://trademarks.justia.com/776/37/grin-77637877.html

https://www.grin.com/

You get the point i guess!

You can create a restaurant company and called it uber, no problem with that as uber trademark only cover in "mobile, transport" area.
Just an example.

It's similar to zano. the trademark only cover in financial, mobile app, software, website, i.t related area.
So you can use that name for restaurant, food and beverage with no issue.

And what about GRIN?   It's a tech company as well.  This argument apply to so many projects, ive been hearing that for years.

As for DeepOnion i tend to disagree, but this is personal opinions, so i'm ok with you believing its very good and me believing it aint.  As for creative devs, i would look closer to this team background if i was you, you cant really find more creative than these guys.  I would really recommend you dig deeper several years back in crypto (like 2013-2014).

You dont understand, it just like i buy PayPal.org , and create financial related - blockchain project.
What do you think PayPal reaction gonna be like?

I own so many coin onion, eth, blocknet, btc , ltc, vert, nano, iota, neo, neblio like 20-30 different coin not just onion since 2013.
Believe me, people are not desperate and needs for another coin. There are already thousands of coin out there.

This is not just “another coin” this has been in development for 4+ years by developers that are highly talented and with a track record of creating successful, innovative projects.

I suppose only time will tell which becomes the next “PayPal” and which becomes the next “pets.com.”

We are intimately familiar with the history. I suggest you dig deeper. Smiley you might really like what you find. Smiley

PoS can not be decentralized and can not be secure. You will never know if an opponent has taken control of all or part of the nodes, all nodes can be compromised or hacked.
There will be no greater security than just the PoW, there will actually be less.

I believe its easier to hack 2 or 3 pools in order to control a network over PoW (and often 1 pool has more than 50% of it, so a single target to hit) than hacking all the nodes of a network.  Pools also run more code than a node so attack surface is greater.

Network can not be controlled "over PoW" by hacking pools, because hashing power is in hands of miners not pools itself. I don't know how a PoS network can be secure and how a PoS based coin can guarantee privacy, because PoS is inherently centralized.
Maybe privacy is not intended for zano?

From our whitepaper:

You can download the full whitepaper here: https://zano.org/

1.2 Zano’s PoS Implementation

Ring signatures allow the transaction creator to provide a set of possible public keys for signature verification, thus keeping their identity indistinguishable from other users. The concept of an anonymous, secure PoS mechanism seemed to be unachievable.

The basis of PoS is a so-called kernel, which is a data structure that depends on the transaction output and includes:

• Current timestamp with 15-second granularity.

• Key Image, which corresponds to each transaction output. A keyimage is comprised of 32 pseudorandom bytes derived from the key in such a way that it is impossible to reconstruct the key, given only its image.

• Stake Modifier. An additional 64 pseudo-random bytes derived from the last PoS and PoW blocks, which disallows any predictability of the stakemodifier in the blocks ahead.

During mining, a user is allowed to sign a block, if Hash(kernel) < CoinAmount ∗ PosTarget, where CoinAmount is the amount of coins in a particular output, and PosTarget is an adaptive parameter that works to keep the block creation rate constant.

The PoS miner iterates the timestamp (within the allowed boundaries) for each of their unspent outputs (UTXO) and checks to see if they possess a UTXO that’s keyimage satisfies the PoSTarget formula above. In the event of a ”winning” result, they spend this particular output, anonymously, with a ring-signature.

Note: The signature includes the keyimage (used in the kernel), but not the key itself, which is why it does not compromise anonymity. The miner signs both the transaction and the block and broadcasts the new block to the network.

Zoidberg has always been synonymous with innovation in CryptoNote, and he epitomizes hard work.

Zoidberg is a crypto unicorn.

Teaser: Zoidberg wasn’t not working the past 3 years... (intentional double negative) Smiley

If that's true, where is Louis d'Or?  Where is the code the dev tax has for 3 years been paying CZ to keep working on?

Where is LMDB?  Where is Ring CT?  Where is the PR for bulletproofs?

Why doesn't CZ do something useful like contribute to Kovri or Tari instead of keeping this shitcoin abandonware thread bumped?

Knock knock.......  Be careful what you ask for..... Smiley

How did you implement PoS if you never know how much a user holds?

Please read the white paper.

https://github.com/zano-project/zano/blob/master/resources/Zano%20WP.pdf

Uses key images, amount of the UTXO’s KI and stake modifier to prevent against stake grinding with 15 second granularity. If you possess a KI that satisfies the difficulty it spends the output and you receive the coinbase reward and that spent utxo back.

This process maintains anonymity and security.

In case there is still any confusion. A wallet can contain 100’s or 1000’s of utxos. A utxo containing 10 coins will have to achieve a difficulty that is 10 times lower than a utxo with 1 coin.

When will you launch it??

We going to launch first public test net in January and then if stress tests passed well then we gonna launch production in Feb

Dear friend
When will BBR holders can swap from BBR to Zano? The conversion rate is 1:1 or ... and how long it takes!

My friend, as long as nobody knows the amount of created zoin coins, any specific conversion rate does not make any sense. If the distributed number of zoin coins is around the number of bbr coins, then it makes sense, but nobody knows.

i hope it is. Anything else would be quite retarded.

It has no logic that number of max coins would be the same. Zano will for sure have higher max supply then BBR.

It will be also interest to see how will Zano compete with two new Mimblewimble coins that are also coming in January Grin and Beam.
beam is already out, though Grin intrigues me the most. However, Zano's WP is the most impressive of them all. Personally, I'm sticking to Zano based on the strength of its WP and the reputation of the team - weird, right? Would like to know if the swap is 1:1 though

I can confirm that the ratio will be 1:1. Since we have a hybrid, and possibly mining on 2 chains during the swap window,  we are working through emission curve details. The max supply will remain the same, but there is a possibility of a tail emission  that would be similar to what other projects have employed and for good reason.

Thanks for your patience everyone. It’s christmas on Monday in certain parts of the world, but expect much more news, clarity, and additional features etc. to be announced in the coming weeks.

Happy New Years to everyone, and we are very excited about regaining our pioneer status in the privacy vertical.

Wow, seems a lot of people don't realize you can buy BBR now to do a 1:1 swap for $ZANO @ launch, had 2 DM's already asking how and when they can buy.

This is the only two exchanges currently available to buy BBR:
https://btc-alpha.com/exchange/BBR_BTC/
https://app.stex.com/en/basic-trade/pair/BTC/BBR/1D

We are actively working on new exchanges. Should be able to make an announcement in the next week to 10 days.

In the meantime, btc-alpha has been the most reliable and supports integrated addresses.  To store Boolberry in a local wallet you can find the latest binaries here:

https://github.com/cryptozoidberg/boolberry/releases/tag/v0.3.0.86

We are very proud of the fact that full synchronization of blockchain can be acheived in under 20 minutes. The results are shown in this medium post and all “predownloaded” functionality is enabled in the latest  GUI wallet release (v0.3.0.86), therefore you can simply run the GUI wallet and sync up in about 20 min depending on your PC’s processor.

Why this mix? Cryptonote and wild keccak? What's wrong with cryptonight? It's the most energy efficient pow algo.

Wild Keccak is also very energy efficient, and there are no ASIC's!  Boolberry's scratchpad is currently around 400mb, which requires it to be stored in global memory vs Cryptonight which is 2-4mb depending on original or "heavy" version.  Wild Keccak PoW calculation is <1ms and cryptonight is 30-100ms.  (Eth is roughly 3-4ms iirc). So I'm not sure what you mean when you say efficient, but WK beats CN at every metric we've considered.

In summary,  WK is not only faster, but much more ASIC resistant than cryptonight.  We will be modifying WK and be releasing WK2 which will make it even more ASIC resistant going forward.

In the August update, we made some lofty promises of 1 hour (down from 24 hours +/-), but today's test shows 22 minutes for full blockchain synchronization!

So another 3X improvment on top of what we had promised.  Should be nostalgic for anyone that was here back in 2014! Smiley

More coming soon!

Copy of text from reddit post at:

https://www.reddit.com/r/boolberry/comments/98pkmg/while_boolberry_was_almost_the_monero_before/

Interesting observation, and I absolutely agree. There were a couple of important things that happened around that time in April / May of 2014. Aside from the fact that Monero was "rush launched" which gave it status as the 1st fork from BCN, it also had 1 minute block times for the first 2 years, and therefore a much faster emission curve, even though they both had the same emission factor. This faster emission curve allowed coins to be accumulated and gave people an incentive to organize and work as a team, similar to the effect that DASH's instamine had. If you look at the old OTC threads on BCT, Boolberry actually traded at a premium to Monero in May 2014 prior to listings on Polinex and Bittrex.

BBR OTC: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=616391

XMR (MRO) OTC: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=578192.0

Its important to note that the lag between the pre-ann and genesis block for Boolberry included some changes that have stood the test of time. The change in the hashing algo Wild Keccak, was never shown to have any unfair advantage like we saw with Monero. (see link)

https://da-data.blogspot.com/2014/08/minting-money-with-monero-and-cpu.html

Additionally, other features that were challenged by the Monero community, namely, Smooth, were later incorporated such as pruning of ring signatures and eventually changing the hashing algo to V7 (supposed to be ASIC resistant), which might change yet again! Monero uses a 2MB scratchpad, where Boolberry has a scratchpad that is now about 340MB and grows at about 90MB per year. Even if there were FPGAs mining BBR, the Xilinx VCU1525 only has 346MB on chip memory, so that should be passed in the next couple of weeks.

Cryptozoidberg, was churning out code in mid 2014 at a pace that was unprecedented. There was a funny post from CZ aimed at FluffyPony as they were blindly merging commits. (see link)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577267.msg8960248#msg8960248

Also during this time there was a chess match between Monero and Boolberry. (see link)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1190988

The competition during 2014 was fierce and the fact that cryptozoidberg was 1 person trying to compete against a group of old bitcoin guys that took over Monero from thankful_for_today.

Here is the original Bitmonero thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563821

Current Monero thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0

In December 2014 Cryptozoidberg announced that he was going to be working on a new project code named Louid'or. (see link)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=887482.0

In his absence there were several attempts by unrelated parties to bring changes to Boolberry, which ultimately led to its de-listing from both Polinex in April '17 and Bittrex in August '17.

For a period of almost 3 years, CZ would periodically surface to reiterate his commitment to return. Finally earlier this year, He DID return, and has implemented a number of improvements over the past several months. Improvements include, off-line signatures (a requirement for exchanges like Binance), LMDB (which took monero a year to implement) integrated addresses, which eliminates the confusion for people sending coins to exchanges which requires a payment ID, and a long list of optimizations and bug fixes.

If you look on cryptomiso.com, and choose ranking by previous 3 months, Boolberry is listed among some large name coins, and at the moment BBR is ranked #114 vs XMR at #86.

https://www.cryptomiso.com/months_3.html

There is not much information out regarding what is planned, but on the website https://boolberry.com/ if you look at phase 3 of the road-map, it say "Big news to come in the year ahead."

Hope this helps connect some of the dots and gives a better overview of history.

Wow, a ton of work has been done here in the past few months! Glad to see a team formed and zoidberg back. Hoping this coin will now realize its potential in the CryptoNote sphere Smiley.

Excited to see the team's plans for next phase. Any teasers? Wink

You have seen the brisk pace of development progress in the past 3 months.  For those of you who were around in 2014, or at a minimum have read the thread, this progress and pace is nothing new.  Zoidberg has always been synonymous with innovation in CryptoNote, and he epitomizes hard work.

Boolberry’s cryptomiso.com ranking for the past 3 months is 102nd of all projects, yet market cap is 375ish.  Some notables between 85th and 100th were Monero, Zcash, among other Billion +/- $ projects.

Zoidberg is a crypto unicorn.

Teaser: Zoidberg wasn’t not working the past 3 years... (intentional double negative) Smiley

Boolberry Gets LMDB Smiley

We are very excited to announce our Public Beta Version LMDB wallet client.  This milestone has been long anticipated and the focal point of discussion over the past several years.  The implementation of LMDB started just over 8 weeks ago and exemplifies the commitment and diligence with which Zoidberg and our entire team works each day.  We are very excited to share this milestone and look forward to exploring the opportunities that LMDB will avail.

The previous Boolberry client had system requirements with a minimum of 8GB RAM.  The latest release, v 0.3.0.54, uses a lightning memory mapped database (LMDB) and the RAM requirements are reduced to an amount such that any modern Windows 7 or newer PC will suffice.  The blockchain synchronization speed will improve throughout future releases and the addition of new seed nodes.  Synchronization speeds will depend on CPU speed and should be expected to take between 2 and 12 hours.

Also, in this beta build, we are introducing integrated addresses.  This new address format will simplify transactions by requiring a single field of information that will incorporate both the wallet address and unique payment ID.  Our users have expressed some confusion and difficulty over the past several months, and we felt that this was a priority to build reliability for incoming and outgoing transfers to exchanges and minimize the possibility of user error when sending coins to an exchange.

We expect the Release Candidate should be ready after another week of testing and feedback from the community.

Here is the GitHub link to the LMDB public beta version 0.3.0.54:
