1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox account in the USA has been seized by the DHS? on: May 14, 2013, 08:57:46 PM
This.... is frightening.
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Bitprivacy - decentralized trustless privacy on: May 10, 2013, 09:24:54 PM
Yeah, I'll look into that.
3  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Top-secret community project on: May 10, 2013, 05:58:00 PM
Crap. I have elbow warts. Count me out.

Also, to tease you a bit: what is this, the video game industry? We announcing announcements now?
4  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [IDEA] Website for organized bitcoin acceptance campaigning on: May 10, 2013, 05:55:25 PM
I don't have too much to say, but it sounds like a good idea.
Showing a company that "25 BTC have been pledged to you, if you begin to accept bitcoin!" or something like that might be compelling for them to begin accepting it.
As a slight twist, I think the big companies should be petitioned, but you're right that Bitcoin will probably be accepted by the little guy largely before the big guy.
I am willing to bet several companies will find themselves risking obsolescence by Bitcoin-based start-ups before they accept it Tongue

Here's a comment: if you're the first to allow clean, user-friendly crowd-sourcing via bitcoin -- I see bright days in your future.
Lemme know if you need an extra dev or whatever. I forked you.
6  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: "Humble Double Fine Bundle, Now With Bitcoin!" on: May 10, 2013, 05:41:23 PM
Tears of happiness roll down.
SO PROUD.
7  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: IDEA: a service that bind bitcoin receiving addresses to your email... on: May 10, 2013, 05:38:12 PM
I feel like a smart enough wallet client could solve this problem entirely, using many of the above suggestions -- most importantly crypto
I'm a dev... I'll think on whether or not I could make something that works for this purpose.
8  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I made 3D renders of some Bitcoins and am here to share the images and 3D models on: May 10, 2013, 05:34:32 PM
Geez! These are fantastic.
Wallpaper'd!
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why does Bitcoin-Qt use all my CPU? Can I prevent it? on: May 09, 2013, 04:38:45 PM
Actually, I solved it. Turns out I had indeed told it to try mining.
Nevermind.
Would delete thread but I can't; turf it if you want, mods.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Why does Bitcoin-Qt use all my CPU? Can I prevent it? on: May 09, 2013, 03:58:10 PM
I see a few threads posted about this by other users where bitcoin-qt wallet takes up nearly all or all of the CPU usage available.
I'm not mining or anything, to the best of my knowledge. Is there some way I can tell it to cool it?
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin-Qt 0.8.1 having random cpu usage spikes? on: May 09, 2013, 03:52:05 PM
Yeah, I'm seeing it take all my CPU too
12  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner on: May 09, 2013, 11:18:03 AM
Great miner, thanks!

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Denominating a 'BitCent' as a 'Gavin' ? on: May 09, 2013, 11:03:10 AM
I saw "millies" and "mickies" somewhere and that works lovely for me.
I agree with an earlier poster here that calling it after someone living -- who isn't pseudonymous, to let Satoshi off the hook -- is too weird.
15  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: anyroll's 10BTC GIVEAWAY list of available numbers on: May 09, 2013, 10:58:00 AM
+1
Thanks for the list
Did you use a program or do this by hand?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There needs to be an adoption task force. on: May 09, 2013, 10:56:55 AM
I think we can go broader than this.
What about an action website like the EFF has too?
And street-team sign-ups for various physical packages containing either print-outs for free (bookmarks, pamphlets, posters) or merch for BTCs (t-shirts,etc.)
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do most bitcoin users actually think.. on: May 09, 2013, 04:33:37 AM
If a magic man approached me today and told me "Yes BTC will prosper as long as whatever fiat you choose." I would dump every penny today.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If bitcoin survives.... on: May 09, 2013, 01:47:53 AM
No. Not necessarily. The price of gold fluctuates and it's been around way longer than Bitcoin may even survive to be

We need more legitimate ASIC suppliers.
