@contraband: I know that it is hard to deal with upset users, especially when you obviously are fed yourself only with snippets what is going on. I just have to address this one more time: The technical performance of the dev team is inferior. You (I mean the whole Electroneum team  ) earned nearly 40millions and are not able to provide top notch network infrastructure and security ? That is what I really donīt understand. Hiring good developers would have been a good idea months back, including Pros like the Amazon guys. There are plenty of mechanism, ready to use, which deal about every security concern which gets brought up. You got flooded by a bot net - there are plenty of DDoS Protection-services. Overloaded websites are not really state of the tech and with the use of good network infrastructure - well controllable. The website was not secure at all, you implemented step by step further security boundries. That would have been necessary from the beginning. The Linux scripts: They are just 1:1 copies, very lightly modified of Monero, there are still some Monero lines in the sources - mentioning "Monero". Even the electroneum-wallet-cli shows "Monero 'Helium Hydra' (v0.11.0.0-release)" No sign of real developement. Just an approach of minimum investments to achieve the maximum goal. The downloads page showed at the beginning some Miners (GPU ones) which were not usable. They were usable for Monero wallet addresses but NOT compatible with Electroneum ones. They quickly disappeared and were exchanged with ones which work. I had to google to find working ones, which are Monero miners. Glad I found them but it would have been nice, if I would have been in the position from hour 0. I was online, but could mine only hours later. Then the password changing mails and now the website is down. I tend to think that the team simply wasnīt ready for the deadline Nov 1st. You see, most of my criticism is about the technical issues and the inexperience of the team, because those errors are poisonous for the image of the whole team and ICO. I still trust all of you, and that is why I believe in the coin. But sadly you made many many errors and took the dangers too lightly. I really would encourage some technical guy to give statements about what happened, what was compromised and how this gonna be resolved. I am not willing to change my email passwd as it is secure, as long as you cannot give me infos, which mails or if all mail addresses have been stolen. I think they just were not expecting this to be so big. So they skipped some not so necessary things that a super hyped coin like this would have needed. Now that they have realized this, they are now implementing these necessary measures. |

Why are we not able to mine in the US? I mined for 6 hours and submitted 8682884 hashes but I received nothing...
I mined all day on the launch day with 7300 h/s and got nothing to show for it. The next day I switched to NiceHash. You won't get electroneum but essentially your hashing power will be used to help someone else get electroneum. You will still be helping the electroneum blockchain, the mining will just be managed and compensated by NiceHash with BTC instead. Im confused as to what you mean by this. Can you or others that do understand, please explain in more detail. "You wont get ETN, but will help others get ETN" is what Im confused on nicehash is a mining service (google NiceHash) and people point their mining rigs at nicehash and nicehash redirects to whatever_coin_is_most_profitable. (this is also why as soon as nicehash supported ETN the network hashrate jumped from 10MH to 150MH in a matter of a few hours). so when you're mining to 'nicehash', you're not mining the coins directly. you pick the algorithm best for your rigs, and nicehash basically acts as a proxy to the most profitable blockchain, nicehash gets the mining rewards (in this case ETN since ETN is most profitable right now), and nicehash auto-dumps all the rewards on the exchange for BTC and pays the miners in BTC. so again thats why the network hashrate skyrocketed, and its also why the coin is drasticallly dropping in price fast because nicehash auto dumps all rewards on the exchange immediately into BTC and pays the miners in BTC (while keeping a nice chunk for themselves too). many people like using nicehash for it's auto-switching capabilities to auto switch to the most profitable coins so they can just set-it-and-forget-it and basically sit back while BTC accumulates in their wallets. ^ This guy pretty much summed it up, although we don't know for sure exactly what NiceHash does with the coins. They could be HODLing them and paying out BTC from their reserves for all we know. NiceHash is software that will automatically mine the most profitable coin by algorithm for your hardware. In this case we are talking the CryptoNight algorithm. Since Electroneum was the most profitable coin to mine (for AMD at least), it will add more hashpower to the blockchain, which is the point to mining. You pretty much lend your hash power to NiceHash and they handle all of the configuration on their end. So instead of mining for 24 hours on the official pools and receiving 0 coins which is what happened to me, I can still mine the blockchain and receive compensation. That's how mining is supposed to work, but at the moment it is broken for some. I would consider myself an expert level miner (had no issue whatsoever with configuring CPU/GPU mining, paper wallet, and importing into command-line wallet within 20 minutes, and with extensive troubleshooting could not see pending coins after 24 hours of mining) so I can see how those new to the game would have issues. NiceHash is simply the stopgap until those mining issues (not everyone is experiencing, but many are, are resolved) I can agree that without NiceHash the total hashrate would be lower because people who don't know about Electroneum at all are helping to mine it now. Not sure if a higher hashrate is a good thing or a bad thing in the developers eyes. If there is an actual use case for the blockchain then I see it as a good thing. Nicehash is not mining any coins. The hashes are directed where ever the user that pays for the hashing power directs them. The person buying the hashing power then receives the coins he mines and the users that are renting their hashing power receive the BTC. |

It gave the chance for those very same ICO investors to rent mining power and 100x their mining investment, in the first 24h. Plus still sell your ICO coins for at least 1.5x+ your investment. Seems like a win win to me.  They should release ICO coins after 2 months. no problem with me. ICO coins should always work like this. Better after 2 years. or lock it for 3 years like sumokoin dev funds. haha Also, don't forget another plus side to this, is that a lot of those mining investors will buy back once the price hits it's low, creating demand for those ICO coin dumpers. |

I have some points:
1 - Ok, miners and expert people mined a lot and sold all their coins. The results is the big drop from the starting price (It's understandable)
2 - Let's consider the price going down to 0.005 - We would get a LOT of buyers at this price, which will make the chart rise again, right? Because most of the buyers and ICO investors bought at 0.01... I doub't there will be a big sell orders in less than this ICO price.
3 - If the price went down to 0.01 or 0.005, there will be not a worth price for miners nor ICO investors to open a lot of sell orders due the low price.
So... Let's wait for all the miners sell their coins, make their profits, wait for the big dump after people sell all their bonuses coins and we will get the real market value. Plus, there are a big number of investors waiting for this dump, so they can buy at low prices.
If I am wrong, correct me with valid arguments.

Yes you are correct. I will buy back with the profit I made first day mining when it dumps. You guys need to learn something. Mining will go on and on. The reward for every block is 7500 coins and there are 1440 blocks in day. That's 10M new coins everyday being dropped at the market. 10M at 1k satoshi is 100BTC per day. Even if they get the queen to support this shit, the queen will end up begging on the streets. LOL, price stability level 10 satoshi. I don't think people would sell for 10 satoshi unless difficulty drops a hell of a lot lol. Which i don't think it will. And ICO price was $0.01 I'm thinking 150-250 satoshi at least, until difficulty hits 20B+ range and block reward goes down. Plus doesn't the block reward drop on this coin? And what about reward halving etc. Where is the emissions curve chart?? |

Launch day I mined 20k coins and today I make 300-400 coins...lol.

Yes, I had the same prob when I was first trying to mine this coin, its because the pool your in doesnt have enough people in it and no one has solved any blocks in your pool yet, dont get paid unless blocks are being solved. Gotta find a better pool. Though I would suggest to find a better coin to mine to be honest. how do we get the funds from the paper wallet to the exchanges? I am following a monero tutorial but it says you need the mnemonic seed and we dont have that with our wallets
