21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trade Copy Platform ? on: January 15, 2018, 08:24:12 AM
Does a trade copy platform exist for all coins?

So not only BTC/ETH, etc, but also supporting all the other 1000+ altcoins?

Basically this concept;

Trader (master) buys X -> platform sends to all subscribed or even paid followers -> People (slave) buys X fully automatically (using settings set by followers (slave) ie. select which exchange api, and amount of btc to be invested into each received trade using x% or just fixed amount of 0.1 per copied trade, etc.)

With the platform only making money on 10-30% of the trader (master) set amount of whatever period and related subscription fees?

Ofcourse all people visiting, should be able to browse/filter/and go through all available "master" traders to determine which one they like to follow.

I'm asking because it's quite popular for Forex investors, but I haven't seen anything similar like it for people doing cryptos.

Perhaps they are out there?

Cheers

Are you talking about PAMM (percentage allocation management module)?

If so the answer is yes it does exist.

One site that i know of that has this feature is xbtce.com.

https://pamm.xbtce.com/

https://www.xbtce.com/en/?type=exchange

Cool, and how about pure trade-copy crypto signals being automatically executed ? As an alternative to MAM/PAMM ?

UPDATE: Checked your link, but they only do a handful of cryptos, not all or at least 80% of all altcoins... so the site is a bit useless, concept is there, but only a few currencies, which can already be traded on most forex brokers.. so that's not what Im looking for

Yes, as far as i know this is a close as you are going to get to what you're looking for in crypto right now.

What we have to remember is, cryptocurrency is still in it's infancy, especially altcoins. So probably in time someone will implement these sort of things.

23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rx580 hashrate change on: January 15, 2018, 07:18:45 AM
hi guys,I am working 30.2 mhs with 4 cards in 2 weeks with solomining. What happened yesterday, all the cards dropped to 28mh/s, what is the reason for this. All cards shapphire rx 580 nitro + 8gb oc. I am using Claymore 9.4 on windows 10.

Also, if you are using a program in the background that is very CPU intensive, that could make your hashrate drop very slightly. Or if you cards are overheating they will throttle down.

I would check that as well!

Nice guide! Have you tried to use xmr-stak-amd or claymore cryptonote to see if you could get higher speed than what you've already achieved?

Pretty sure you could get more speed than that!  Wink

Thanks Tristan1337!

Yes, i have used both and i could not match sgminer, the multi-thread, by far, exceeds both of those.

Yes, it seems some people have better luck with sgminer and others with xmr-stak-amd. Not really sure why.

BTW, which memory straps are you using for those cards?

For samsung i use the Uber straps (google it, i don't remember the site on top of my head), for the rest i use 1500 straps and i start at 2100 with 1150 gpu and going down ~25-50 on memory until i see no memory errors for both CryptoNight and ethash. Takes a while but after it'd done i don't have to touch them at all, they just work and are reliable.

Yes, it seems the best straps available for cryptonote would be the uber straps for samsung.

Good job! Cool

Why TRX is going down so dip these days, any bad news, can it recover and pump again

There was a lot of hype surrounding this coin while the price was increasing. Now that the hype has gone down a bit, the price starts to decrease. Just the way things go.  Wink

Plus now Mcafee is selling off all his coins!  Cheesy

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is this Cricket Sound, bad bearing? something else? on: January 15, 2018, 06:39:53 AM
I have been pretty lucky with GPUs all being fine since I started mining (cant say the same for PSUs). Is this the sound of a bad bearing? Sounds like crickets.

https://streamable.com/61arc

Yes, it's most likely one of the GPU fans starting to go.

If you're feeling adventurous, you could always fix the fan in question by giving it a little oil.

There are many guides that you can find by searching on google or youtube.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC quality correlation to undervolting potential RX 580 on: January 15, 2018, 06:34:25 AM
I have 8 RX 580s, 6 of them ASUS RX 580 8GB and 2 of them XFX GTS Black Core Edition RX 580 8GB.

In GPU-Z, my ASUS cards' ASIC quality ranges from 69 - 76%, while both my XFX are >76%. My two lowest ASIC quality ASUS cards, 69% and 70.2%, require 25 more mV more at 1100 core clock while mining (825 mV). All the other cards are stable at 800 mV, including XFX cards which are clocked higher at 1175 core. There seems to be some correlation between ASIC quality and undervolting voltage, but at the moment, with such a small sample size, it is just anecdotal evidence.

How about you guys?

Yes, it's true, it is well known that there is a correlation between the ASIC quality and undervolting voltage.

So if you buy cards that are factory overclocked higher than other cards, you have a good chance at getting higher ASIC quality, and therefore better chance at getting a card that will undervolt better than others.

Nice work.  Cool

With 16kw of miners your solar panel investment should pay off pretty quickly.

Looking forward to more updates.  Wink

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nanopool: Where transferred after hit by min. payout? on: January 15, 2018, 06:06:30 AM
Hi,

Just want to know where the currency is transferred after being hit by the min. payout. Right now the balance is zero. Was the amount transferred in some buffer. How to claim/get that?

Regards,

Rizwan

The amount is waiting to be transferred to the blockchain. It should show up in the wallet you specified as soon as the transaction is sent.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin lightning network on: January 09, 2018, 01:47:14 AM
Can  someone  explain please  what is  this  lightening network, and  when will it be implemented?

When  willl be  lightening  network implemented to bitcoin?

I still don't  understand  what  this  lightning network  does...

If  it  will be  implemented  lightning network  to bitcoin,  will bitcoin became scalable and will there  be  cross chain transactions  between  differents  blockchains?

Exemple:  (bitcoin--->  to Monero)

When and if  this  will happen the price of  bitcoin will skyrocket, better  to accumulate now  that  is  at  the dip

If you want to know what lightning network is, well just check this long detailed video out on youtube.  Wink

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How can I set up my own Proof of Stake Mining Rig? on: January 09, 2018, 01:20:46 AM
POS coins can be staked on pretty much any computer. Even a Raspberry Pi for example.

There is no need for any special hardware, and they use very little energy compared to POW.

You just need to buy a sufficient amount of coins to stake, then store them in your password protected wallet, which will be unlocked for staking only. And you're good to go!
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cheap 1080ti Mining Rig on: January 08, 2018, 05:22:42 AM
I stopped building rigs with celerons. I found the hashrates were too inconsistent and they’re too slow for 8 GPU systems. YMMV. Sometimes I will run two instances of ethminer where 4 cards are mining one coin and 4 cards mine another coin. With a celeron, the system can’t keep up.

I prefer to use i3 7100’s but if costs are a concern, the Pentium G series are fine.

I do plan to add more GPUs to this rig over time so I wanna do it right the first time. I don't mind springing for the i3 7100T as long as there is a legitimate reason too.

is there any coins that 1080ti mine especially well? or is it just raw hashing power in the end?

Anything that uses equihash algo will mine very well with a 1080ti.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cheap 1080ti Mining Rig on: January 08, 2018, 01:59:55 AM
That CPU is fine, and won't bottleneck as long as you don't try to mine with the CPU at the same time.

Anyway mining with that CPU wouldn't be worth it first of all.  Wink
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What a nightware ... Lesson learned. on: January 08, 2018, 12:09:48 AM
Haha..  Grin  Yes often it's just the simplest things that get overlooked that create the biggest problems!

BTW.. Good thing it didn't short circuit anything being half connected like that. Could have been a lot worse!  Wink

As you said.. Lesson learned.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Under the radar Altcoin mining thread. What coins are you getting in early on? on: January 07, 2018, 11:17:07 PM
Definitely go for Intense Coin! Not too late yet!

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wallet and POS on: January 07, 2018, 01:22:58 PM
Many people in this thread saying that if staking coins will get you in danger if you not set up any password, may I know how it is? I haven't set up a password in my PoS coin wallet and its staking for about 1 month with no problem, my wallet is super safe and my coins are still there.

Yes they're in danger, because if someone steals your wallet or gains access to your computer they can easily send the coins anywhere they want with nothing to stop them.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wallet and POS on: January 07, 2018, 03:41:00 AM
Yes, they will be at increased risk of getting stolen. But if you have a long alpha numeric password, with uppercase/lowercase and special characters about 30 characters long. Plus have a wallet backup and have a good antivirus/firewall installed. This will have minimized the risk as much as possible.

This way if someone would steal your wallet they would have to try to brute force your password, which would be almost impossible.

The other risk would be that you get a virus with a keylogger that could steal your password when you type it in. So it's necessary to have a good firewall/antivirus.

Even still, the chances are still small that anything would really happen. But it's best to be prepared just in case.

You need to modify your bios so that it runs faster.

There are many tutorials that show how it's done. Here is a thread that will get you on your way.

Good luck! Happy mining.  Cool
