21  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin scale in 5-10years? on: January 02, 2018, 02:27:02 PM
Although we may be able to get by with these patches, the growing size of the 'replicated' ledger will eventually create elite mining communities who control the network, akin to the banking system of today.

As is, it will not be able to achieve what Cryptocurrency was designed to achieve - to supersede the flawed banking system, Cryptocurrency should achieve the following:
- sub-second transaction times
- sub-cent transaction costs
- practically infinite scalability
- controllable price stability
- control being democratically vested in the community
- simple and accessible interface to laymen

Bitcoin is unlikely to achieve this however many patches are made. We need to think anew and that is what we are creating at Noble Nation, as part of an integral solution for how nations should evolve in the future.
22  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democracy and Voting = a choice? on: December 19, 2017, 02:04:03 PM
Democracy means a system of governance by the whole population. Unfortunately, none of the currently practiced forms of democracy come close to the vision of democracy and what we have is a greatly perverted form of democracy. This is especially so where it creates various new classes of rulers (i.e. politicians, political parties, bureaucrats and too big to fail corporations), to replace the dictators and monarchs, etc.. that democracy is supposed to replace.

That being said, enabling a whole populace to have their say in governance, setting policy, etc., was rife with practical difficulties.. that is until now. Today we have the technology to put the power of governance in the hands of every individuall citizen. And yes - it involves using crypto and blockchain technology.

This is precisely what we are working on.

Implementation of true direct democracy would create a paradigm shift in governance, economics and society, by enabling every individual to take control of their destinies. It has the potential to end corruption, end wars and eliminate poverty. Please check us out and join the effort - Noble Nation.

Crypto currency does make it easy to move money around and has some anonimity. But it is more transparent than the banking system and is much easier for Law Enforcement to track suspicious activity.

Whatever system in question - crypto or not, without solving the roots of where criminality stems from, law enforcement is hassling the rest of society without just doing their job.

Majority of laws are made at the whims and fancies of the politicians to serve their own ends, which unduly burden the vast majority of law abiding citizens and stifles them from freely conducting their activities.

If we have a crypto currency with trust in the individual identities and bound by a common, moral and ethical set of principles, then Law Enforcement or governments will have no moral legitimacy in trying to criminalize that crypto economic platform.

This is one of the things Noble Nation is aiming to solve.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you increase the "activity" in BBS? How long have you been in bitcointalk on: November 21, 2017, 06:18:28 AM
How many "activities" will update my account
What are the benefits of an account upgrade? Huh

The link below explains account levels and what benefits you gain as you upgrade:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0

The following link explains how your activity number increases:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0

Basically you get one activity for every post you make up to a maximum of 14 for a two week period. You will become a Junior Member once your activity reaches 30.
25  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is there limited amount of activity you can earn a day? on: November 21, 2017, 05:49:18 AM
so activities don't count for next two weeks no matter what I do?

Yes. You can't gain more activity until the two week period completes.

The activity number is programmatically determined as below:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since you registered
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

So maximum activity you can earn in a two week period is 14.

The two week period roughly starts every second Tuesday around 1830 UTC.

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Need help in MEW to send Token on: November 20, 2017, 06:50:56 PM
Clearly the "TO" address is wrong. Ethereum addresses start with "0x" and is followed by 40 hexadecimal (numbers 0 to 9 and the letters A to F upper or lower case) characters.

Token transfers will execute a contract, hence usually require more than the minimum gas of 21000.

But before worrying about this, you will need to get the correct Ethereum address for your exchange site.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How should the tokenized economy work? on: November 07, 2017, 12:06:29 PM
The reality is that most people buy utility/product tokens (mainly from ICOs) as investments and not really because they want to use the product. So they hold and trade it as if it is an investment.
