101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 17, 2018, 01:31:06 AM
Lmao this is just getting amusing now. There is no way in hell any of this is a coincidence whatsoever. At this point anyone who thinks otherwise is a blind fool/payed shill. There is no way multiple companies within a few days finished designing a CryptoNight ASIC all at once to launch lmao.

I wonder how many people payed BTC/BCH/LTC already and are regreting every second of it.

That's got me wondering about Equihash, and other algo's.

Perhaps Trubus is the new wave?  Who knows right?
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 17, 2018, 12:46:00 AM
New disclaimer when buying these 3k and 1.9k models from bitmain...

3. One major cryptocurrency which is using CryptoNight hash function is about to change their PoW algothrim, and according to their public statement, it is purposely to brick ASIC mining rigs including X3. When you buying it, you are betting that they are wrong.

HAHAHA, k that got me LMAO! Cheesy
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 16, 2018, 07:57:14 PM
LOL, suddenly the prices fell....hahaha

batch 3 and batch 4 are now $3k and $1.9k respectively
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 16, 2018, 06:47:03 PM
Do you all really think the CN ASICS are worthless?

If Monero Forks, we get 2 chains (coins)
One is the GPU mined Fork, we still call Monero and there is a second one, the ASIC mineable chain, whatever it will be called...

70% mining power is ASIC and 30% mining power is GPU. Who is the winner? I think the ASIC chain.
The "Monero" ASIC chain will continue ASIC mining and whit Bitmain behind (read; even more mining power will be coming up)
I think there is a nice Future ahead Smiley

Just mentioning...

I don't know for sure but I don't think fork is the right word for the update coming for monero.. i think it is just a change to the algorithm that monero uses (updated version of cryptonight).. I don't think there will be 2 different monero coins (not like btc and bitcoin cash)

Good point, but I'm assuming that Bitmain will just update the firmware on the X3 if the algo change is similar to cryptonight right?  Although they didn't update the firmware to the D3's which could allow for mining other algos.

I think perhaps the Baikal miners will recoup some of their costs mining ETN.  Dunno, even doing a rough estimate on whattomine makes me wonder if its even worth it and that's at current difficulty.  With these new miners, the diff will sky rocket.

Yes forking with Monero.

Best news of the day  Smiley

The other Cryptonight coin I'm mining is SUP, and they're forking with XMR....this is getting sad....these miners are going to be DOA.

I feel for those that bought these miners   Sad Sad
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 16, 2018, 04:50:28 AM

"complete waste of time"  and yet they are sold out.  Either you don't know what you are talking about or the vast population of miners who managed to buy these out don't know what they are thinking.

Personally, I won't be dropping $12K on one of these things.  So, I guess you could say we agree.   However, there is value in these... things.  However, I the prices will drop.

So what else is there to consider here?  Well... a lot more than Monero.  In fact, here are 17 other coins (and that's not even all the cryptonight coins--oh and also not including cryptonight-lite coins) that can be mined with these... things:

https://cryptonote.org/coins

XUN, XAO are just two others and I'm sure there are more that aren't listed.  The use case for these things will continue to be lasting.

Then there's the customer service and GPU arguments to consider.  But really, most the arguments cancel out.  Probably event the timing of buying these things argument can cancel out.

But yeah... I'll be waiting for lower prices lol

Good points, I'm also going to wait out this craziness and see where it all goes, but I got to laughing really hard after clicking on your link.  When I first got into mining, I mined Infinium-8 like crazy, I have so many Infinium-8 that are completely worthless.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 16, 2018, 02:53:26 AM
Who on earth is buying up these miners? They're sold out!

After reading XMR's reddit's discussions on the matter, it's a complete waste of time to get these miners because XMR is going to fork before these miners are released.

110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 16, 2018, 01:33:20 AM
Does look like these miners are going to be obsolete by the time they come out.  XMR is going to fork! My hope is that SUP, which is another coin I mine using Cryptonight is going to fork.

So forget spending $12k on the X3 miner, it's only money down the drain.

It is just sad to see, how the coins that were mined with GPUs and CPUs for years will now be mined with ASICs Sad. I really hope Cryptonight algo hard fork will make CN ASICs useless.

The question is, will there be a hard fork?  I'm hoping there's going to be one, but I really don't know man.  Look at Sia coin they were not happy when Bitmain came out with a Blake-2b Asic, but they refused to do a hard fork.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SUP SuperiorCoin Mining Discussion on: March 15, 2018, 05:47:31 PM
Bitmain has a 220KH/s X3 miner....coin forking?

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: March 15, 2018, 05:40:39 PM
Now bitmain is out with there new X3 miner

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite ASIC miner on: March 14, 2018, 05:13:28 AM
The ones who know more: Is it possible to reprogram FPGA everytime some fork occurs with Cryptonight algo and thus still keep mining? Or cannot it be done?

It is technically possible to reprogram FPGA, and the V7 POW function is almost  same as older one.
So new bitstream should update FPGA, but the question is will this bitstream be released and when it will happen.

BTW old X6500, ztex and others can mine altcoins with profit.

Thx for bringing that up, I totally forgot about the X6500rev3 and 2 versions.  Makes me wonder about other "asic resistant" algo's out there...only matter of time for FPGA and Asic?

BZL Coin is listed on CoinRanker. Check out real time prices: https://www.coinranker.net/cryptocurrency/bzlcoin

Very cool, waiting for the day to see this coin go up in price.  0.01 BTC in the next couple of years perhaps....long term and very practical.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SUP SuperiorCoin Mining Discussion on: March 14, 2018, 02:16:06 AM
With XMR forking and Baikal with their new FPGA miners, what are the future plans for SUP?  Will there be a future fork?
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite ASIC miner on: March 13, 2018, 05:17:43 PM
I don't think it's worth it.  I mean this is insane but at the same time too expensive.  Looks like they're compacting GPU chips into one miner.  I'm going to wait for the Nvidia 2000 series.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Aspectcoin POW/POS, X11, Masternode High ROI on: March 07, 2018, 02:46:45 AM
up for the swap!  Grin

Wait when's the swap?
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] KOTO - Yescrypt Zcash clone on: March 06, 2018, 01:25:09 AM
I'm currently mining a yescryptr16 coin and was getting low hash rates then I switched to yescrypt and its really fast.
How did you configure your CPU mining?  I'm wondering if I'm writing the script all wrong.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] KOTO - Yescrypt Zcash clone on: March 05, 2018, 08:48:40 PM
Has anyone figured how to use the CPU minining software on this yet?  PLZ let me know, sounds really interesting
