1  Other / Beginners & Help / Best crypto trading course / information source for beginners? on: January 03, 2022, 11:42:23 AM
I don't position myself as a day to day trader, I'm more like a long term player, however taking long or short positions based on probabilities requires a trading knowledge. What would be some of the best information available that you suggest for beginner trader? There are panty of information online, would like to hear your personal experiences and suggestions. I personally obtain information better from a simple how to YT video.

We all know that that not every centralised service plays by the rules, as they 'reserve the right' to ask for KYC at anytime, they can also do that for their advantage as well, this for example is a big problem in a field of igaming, where upon a big win withdrawal, they start to apply different KYC rules that you have 'signed on', somehow they don't use their rights when we are talking about relatively smaller amounts.

I have tested KuCoin, it has 1 BTC daily withdrawal limit before it asks for KYC. Im sure it can change at any moment, as with any centralised service, KYC can be asked anytime.

If the exchange decides to change its rules, it should notify its users in advance, as the Binance exchange did. In this case, you should have enough time to withdraw your money from the exchange. But everyone should be prepared for the fact that in the future all CEX will require verification.

When you are trading on DEX like bisq, hodlhodl there are many different counter-parties, that send you funds. Analysis would be needed on these counter parties to make sure the funds they are sending are not tainted. There has been a case where I received funds from DEX, later tried to exchange it on CEX and received a report that the funds I'm trying to exchange are attached to dark web. A pretty interesting report I received, that's why Im wondering are there any such tools available for public, as it's advanced tool, Im sure it wont be free, but also many of them are exclusively for institution and regulated services.

You won't find any service that will do this for free. If you don't want to spend any money, then the best you can do is use various block explorers or tools yourself to try to analyze the links between addresses and transactions and try to track down the information you are interested in yourself.

The best tools I have found to do this are:
https://www.walletexplorer.com/
https://oxt.me/
https://www.breadcrumbs.app/

Perhaps if you tell us exactly what you are trying to do you might get more specific advice.

Centralised crypto services are well known for using tools like chainalysis to comply with the authorities, are there any such tools open source and available for general public?

KuCoin has KYC but it is not too strict like the other exchanges and KuCoin is a good exchange that you can use for additional exchange. ...

Passing verification on Kucoi is not mandatory if you do not need to use additional exchange services. And if you only need spot trading, then you won't need to verify your account. I can also recommend the exchange bybit.com, where spot and margin trading is also available without KYC.

It's all about liquidity and reasonable rates. For Bitcoin DEX like holdhodl seems best solution for now, there are few good counter-parties that can provide better rates then exodus and changelly.

I'm looking for exchange that does not store any of your personal date and does ask you for KYC. Besides using DEX, what can you add to the list? As well as your personal experience. My current experience.

 - Withing EXODUS wallet (exchange got stuck, they forward me to 3rd party exchange for support)
 - Changelly within ledger live (not clear if they will ask for KYC or not, different info on both webs, waiting on clear reply from support)
Instead of having to go through all these stress, why don’t you just go straight to DEX? I don’t know what makes you think that you’re going to be able to find a centralized exchange that doesn’t require you to do KYC before you can be able to fully make use of their exchange.

Unless you’re going to try Binance, which would allow you to use the exchange to some extent and after they would start to limit you and you would still have to do your KYC. The simple solution that you have here now is to just make use of DEX. And for your information Exodus wallet is not an exchange, it is just a wallet that is decentralized, the exchange that you see there is a third party and you will even register your email with the third party exchange, Changelly.

It seems like privacy related services are attached to illicit activities which they are for sure, however studies highlights it different: https://cointelegraph.com/news/only-8-of-mixed-crypto-coins-tied-to-illicit-activity-report meaning that people really value their privacy as it is one of the core functionalities of crypto. CEX is convenient for every day use, but when we talk about long term holding I would like to keep it private.

Hodlhodl and Bisq seems to be good options to cover my needs. The only think would left be to do a basic on chain analytic, to make sure that the funds coming is not tainted, are there any open source tools available for basic check up?

Have you tried these?
  • Kraken
  • Kucoin
  • ShapeShift
All of those I mentioned above may ask for a basic KYC but it's totally not to store your personal data information.

I would rather choose a decentralized exchange for the fully anonymous exchange, but the disadvantage is there could be a low volume of that exchange which is hard to execute your trade orders.
  • Bisq
  • Hodlhodl

Share your best practice exchanging between different blockchains with no KYC!
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Best offline portfolio tracker? on: December 27, 2021, 06:47:21 PM
What do you suggest as best portfolio tracker that's not connected to any wallet?

Features that Im looking for:

1. Options too add crypto balances manually.
2. Add transactions, buy and sell.
3. USD Profit and loss calculation based on crypto balances day by day. How much I gained or lost due to onboarding new cryptos to portfolio.
4. Information stored on my hardware not any 3rd party servers.

I can add this information all manually within excel, but it takes too much time and should be automated.

Website seems very slow for me, as well as the Youtube content also not available. Due to the nature of cloud mining projects, I highly suggest you to focus on building trust within community, showcase your mining farms, and interview CEOs in respectable media outlets, I can't find your website on any reputable 3d party web. A partnership with trustable industry figures, would gain the most trust within the space.

13  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: You always loose, and the house will be the winner ? on: December 23, 2021, 10:04:19 AM
Considering the casino is fair, your chances of losing and winning are the same for every bet you make. You have to understand the basic concept of RTP and house edge. On average all casinos have around 96% RTP, meaning that if you bet $100, you get back $96 on average, $4 is casinos profit. Playing games of change (like slot machines) in the long run, this would play out more clearly. There are plenty amount of information explaining how casinos work, a simple explainer video on YT would do the job. Always remember that a casino for a player is not a way to profit, it's a way to spend time and gamble money that you can afford to lose.
14  Economy / Services / Re: How can I earn BTC on: December 21, 2021, 04:45:59 AM
Everyone wants quick and easy money, other than pure luck on some casino game it does not exist, but even then the odds are not on your side. First you have to learn about bitcoin / blockchain, the value of it compared to centralized fintech. Find your passion within the niche itself, be valuable to the community and you will start to earn. Whether it's development, supporting ongoing blockchain projects, article writing, date entry etc. you need good knowledge as fundmanet, but most importantly you really have to find your passion within the process.
15  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasinorank.com - Reviews and ranking of Crypto Casinos on: December 20, 2021, 10:58:55 AM
As per information on your website, one of the key factors how you rank casino is Trust & Fairness. As we all know positive and negative feedback on web can be incentivized by competitors or casinos bounty campaigns, how do you validate authenticity of such information?

Please do not contact me if you do not have any previous experience in igaming. I will not even reply if you don't disclose your experience in detail. Thanks!

Seems interesting and unique, would appreciate if there would be some simple 'how to' information posted on the website for general public to get the overall idea of the game. Do you plan to add more crypto? How can I validate the fairness of game? Also a community chat groups like telegram and discord where players can interact with each other would be nice to have.
