1  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMHASH] 10 BTC REWARD FOR INFO ABOUT AMHASH OWNERS on: March 08, 2015, 07:02:04 AM

I agree with MrTeal. This is plain stupid. He is only stating the facts. Everything that he posted is true facts. That's NOT DEFENDING.

Airwolf probably have a form autism either that or he is 12. I just ignore him and move on with my day.
2  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHASH SCAM going public now! on: March 06, 2015, 03:48:29 AM
I appreciate what airwolf is doing. I am tired of all the individuals and people scamming honest users. It makes the adoption of bitcoin hard and has to stop.

I get what he is trying to do but he acts extremely immature. When people ask him to sign the his address he lashes out at them. Signing an address is a courtesy we do since bitcoin is pseudonymous. He spams the forum by making several new threads on the same subject and attacks people when they suggest that one thread is enough. He spams other threads with his information. Just posting it in one place is enough.

I want to find FC as much as anyone but there is no reason to act the way he does. He is overly sensitive and snaps at anyone that doesn't agree with him.

So you felt the need to create a topic just to promote a public article? Maybe you will create a topic for every article. We don't know that. And besides. An article that tells what WE already know is kinda pointless. I think it was in your best interest to promote it to various channels that aren't aware of what's going on. But this forum is already aware of what is going on.

Actually is not pointless, thanks to many users here i have now real data on the scammers, got in touch with CNN, and a big BTC news site (not btcreporter) is digging into this as we speak, also gathered a lot of data on the AMHASH supporters in this forum by gauging their responses and checking their past connections with this people.

Read my post again. I haven't stated that it's pointless to create a thread to gather real data on the scammers. I said that it is pointless to create a topic just to promote a public article when the whole forum knows about the scammers! There are 3 threads in the Securities forum where the same information can be found + 1 thread in the Bitcoin Discussion forum. Do you really think this topic where you just post a public article was mandatory?

I agree that one thread on this is enough. Making anymore is just spamming the forums. AirWolf is just a self referencing cry wolf right now. He insults everyone tries to help him.

Havelock is down.

It would certainly be nice to see a signed message. It seems like you are cutting out a portion of your "hunters" by not posting a signed message proving you control the funds.

I also like to see a signed message. I can claim I own https://blockchain.info/address/12dLDw8MyZb4aS5WRCsNFXQFtRdHD2C3uf but do I really? No one will know until I sign it.

Keeping in mind that # is a comment only, wouldn't it be better to have the comment contain hashing speed and expected watts?

Doesn't something like this

#option 'freq_value'   '1406'     #513GH/s  420W
#option 'chip_freq'     '256.25'
#option 'timeout'       '15'

end up being more useful than a comment with the frequency, when its listed under chip_freq already?

#option 'freq_value'   '1406'     # freq 256.25M  gives 513gh/s uses 420watts
#option 'chip_freq'     '256.25'
#option 'timeout'       '15'

Comments should be useful, right?

see bolded  above

may as well be fully clear with a comment ..  we forget that there are full newbies.

long windy but clear.

what I do like is we now have a lot to pick from

256.25
250
243.25
237.5
231.25
225
218.75
212.50
206.25
200

Are you still running at 256.25?

Could anybody give me any suggestions as to why my antminer seems to be running kinda shit?

Seems to want to only hold 400 gh/s comfortably. Those spikes at the end are the results of reboots. Whenever I reboot it, it runs nicely for a bit, then deteriorates back down to 400. Never seems to be able to hold the 440gh/s as expected.

I have it running off a Corsair 750W PSU with all four PCI-E cables connected so power shouldn't be an issue. It is also running completely stock, I tried overclocking to 'compensate' for this shortfall but even slight overclocks produced great instability and knocked out one of the chips.

I've looked about and this seems kinda like a rare issue but my ant just doesn't want to play ball.

Did you try opening it and replacing the thermal paste? Some of the units ship with horrible thermal paste. It could also be a heat issue. I'm not an expert on the issue.
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: August 14, 2014, 09:45:01 PM

I got mine to freq 250. Replaced the intake fan with a personal fan and took off the case. Has 4 cables and replaced most of the thermal paste except on one of the back heat sink(ran out of paste). Made it wireless with old laptop antenna. The room is about 23.3C and the fan rarely goes above 1700.

Well, as I start this reply it's 1:23pm.

I just OC'd all four of my S3's to 237.5, I have a dentist appointment at three. So after I hit the post button. I'm gonna do a single refresh on all four to see web stats. After that I'll let everything be til probably around 4pm when I get back. If everything looks good, I'll leave them all on 237.5 for 24hrs.

If after that, everything still looks good. Then about this time tomorrow or so I will take the proverbial plunge and try 250 on one of them for 24hrs. If that holds good, then I'll set the second at 250 and let run 24hrs, so on and so forth til I t all four on 250 if I'm lucky.

Between 237.5 & 250, is there any other freqs, I think I saw someone say 240 or something a few pages back.
Ok, so back from the dentist, checked on the four S3's and no x's but I did however notice something weird and maybe it will wind up between now and tomorrow. Anyway, below are as of this post... Elapsed Time, Gh/s(5s) & Gh/s(avg) as well as the HW & the Diff a & r figures.

My curiosity is in tthe avg speed of miners 1 & 3 while 2 & 4 look good. Haven't done the HW% math, maybe someone could for me ? lol.

Oh ya, all four are OC'd to 237.5

About this time tomorrow I'll use actual pics when it will be ~24hrs that they will all have been up on 237.5.

Try Ant Monitor. Its pretty useful. It will tell you your HW% and you can set up alerts. Use the S1 settings when setting up.
Can't until M patches it for hosted outside the home network machines.

I made mine wireless and I connect through the router. I can jump on any computer in the house and monitor it.

Edit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702653.msg8062114#msg8062114
After you connect it just treat it like an S1 and you can set up the wireless. Once you connect to the wifi it will be named WWAN by default. Go to WAN and change it to DHCP client and save and apply it. Disconnect the wire and turn the power off and on.

I reserved the DHCP on my router for the Antminer's MAC address so it will always have that IP.
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 14, 2014, 08:39:05 PM

I got mine to freq 250. Took out the intake fan and used a fan I had laying around. I replaced the thermal paste for all the chips and only had enough left over for one of the heat sink in the back. You can see the temp difference of replacing the thermal paste. I used Antec F7 since I didn't want to wait for the MX-4 to arrive in the mail. The room is about 23.3C and the fan rarely goes above 1700.

interesting, but why taking out the intake fan?

I experimented with the intake fan on and off. It seemed a little redundant to have a fan blowing into the intake. Once I took off the intake and the piece of metal behind it I saw a ~2C drop in temp.

Edit: I also took the case off.

Oh, so you basically made it S1-like. S1 was known to respond well to an external fan blowing air in the same direction-I used it all the time, but it had zero effect on closed S3, as you would expect.

Yeah. I also took the internal wireless antenna from my old laptop and made it wireless. Its in my room so I needed to make the fan less noisy and ended up with this.

This is what needed to happen. Difficulty may be 60 now, but it'll soon be down to 22. It was always going to be unstable during the fork.

Still holding onto my 1000 Cats.

wow 1000 cats. How do you feed all of them?

What is the correct network hash?

Coinium shows 224.339 MH/s pool hash but wallet shows 144.96 MH/s network hash.

You may need to re-download the blockchain.

how to do that? can i do it from the debug window?
