102  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Random BTC deposit ...What does it mean??? on: November 12, 2017, 05:52:23 PM
can someone PLS explain wtf is goin on in the transaction below? I got an email saying someone sent me about $4 in BTC ...looking at the details, it seems they've sent to a lot of people and I'd just like to know what it means??

Bitcoin Transaction:
48f069889e139d18d124b69c7914493fee9f475f77241fd2884e438c96b3a7f9

on a side note: should I attempt to accelerate this transaction?

It's a double-spend transaction and it will most likely never confirm. It's simply faked to make it look like you received bitcoin, probably to try and scam you.

Could you give a bit more context about the email? What were they saying about the transaction? Did they ask you for any money?

See https://blockchain.info/tx/48f069889e139d18d124b69c7914493fee9f475f77241fd2884e438c96b3a7f9

This is what it will be - always be wary of anything in the crypto world - especially dodgy emails.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Cash replace Bitcoin?? on: November 12, 2017, 11:33:13 AM
It's hard to say - the price increase from Bitcoin cash has been amazing last few days. BTC has always been king of the jungle but can it be surpassed? I think it could be possible - we will just need to watch the coming days and weeks to find out.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I late to the party? on: November 11, 2017, 09:27:19 PM
A few of the coins that cost a lot now were cheap a few years back - if you look now there are cheap coins and who knows if they will rise to be expensive in another few years. ETH and MONERO and others were unknown back in the day when it was just bitcoin and litecoin really.

So to answer your question - no its not too late in my opinion to dive in and build a portfolio - but dont go crazy lol Wink
105  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will the number of bitcoins increase in the future? on: November 10, 2017, 09:42:26 PM

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DEEP ONION SCAM!!!! on: November 06, 2017, 12:04:39 AM
I think personally they made a mistake by asking new members to buy before they receive - now it looks like a scam.

What the new members will receive is vastly disproportionate to the old members (who will have accrued thousands and never spent one single penny and continue to receive huge amounts of tokens each airdrop based on their holdings).

So a member from the start might have 16 airdrops x 900 tokens = 14,400 tokens - rough calculation to give an example - each new airdrop will give this dude 7.5% extra = 1080 extra tokens

New member buys 100 tokens - costs $70 - able to join airdrop - receives roughly 7.5% of his holdings as tokens from airdrop = 7.5 extra tokens

To say this is disparity is an understatement in terms of token distribution.

I'll be watching it closely to see how it pans out - I hope it is successful and I am proved wrong but there's something fishy going with deeponion imho lol

I use it as well - i think it is great and simple to navigate. Good for checking on your coin transactions as well.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what do you all do with with token? on: November 03, 2017, 12:08:22 PM
Hi - i hold my tokens in my etherwallet - right now thes ERC20 issues are kind of new so it is too early to tell if they will come good so maybe its best to hold until they develop.

Obviously you get pump and dump ones and I would say sell them if you can at a price that suits.

Best of luck in what you do mate anyway.

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in DeepOnion now in Cryptopia on: November 02, 2017, 12:43:09 AM
This is a post on the deeponion thread made recently...

"Fingers crossed. Soon we'll be there. Just doing one step at a time."

I mean wtf is this guy talking about lol? That is his entire contribution so that he can keep to the airdrop rules. 13 words.

soon we'll be there - where?

fingers crossed - for what exactly?
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in DeepOnion now in Cryptopia on: November 02, 2017, 12:32:24 AM
It seems like half the posters on their forum have a basic grasp of english - and the posts are all one liners because they have to do this to satisfy the airdrop rules - fake website activity alert.

The bag holders from airdrop 1 onwards are being rewarded with vastly more tokens at the expense of new members who get very little - this is a crazy way to run a community/coin.

You also have to pay to join the airdrop which is weird.

Obviously you can buy their tokens on an exchange and not participate in the airdrop just like any other coin but it all seems a little fishy imho.

Any additional thoughts folks?

120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is deepOnion dodgy? on: October 26, 2017, 04:23:16 PM
I was in the airdrop for two weeks and still have my Onions.  I'm a Hodler, no intentions to sell, either going to make money or go down in flames.  I don't think it's a scam ... I don't think it' a ponzi ... the thing that concerns me the most is that the Dev has 10% + he staked the premine, and as you pointed out, there are large holders that have been in the air drop from the beginning ... so I can't see how this can avoid a massive dump as the 40th airdrop approached.  I think most DeepOnion holders are expecting it, in fact.  It's like a game of chicken where people want to stay in the airdrop as long as possible, but don't want to lose value if it turns into a massive dump.  The only question for me is will the Dev dump early and abandon the project ... if not, then Deep Onion may have a good future.  If the Dev. dumps, then it was a scam all along, and I will be proven wrong.

Interesting take on things - totally agree with you - guess we wait and see who chickens out 1st lol - i dont gaf anymore since those rules changed yesterday
