The Highs and Lows of Bitcoin can sweep some people off their feet.

I have had dark days but the good ones have been worth the pain.  Grin

there's a newish system for recovering accounts
here at WO we leave no man behind

Oh really, what’s that?

I think it's explained here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089777.0

Ah, yeah I tried that but didn’t have any keys that proved anything. With a little bit of detective work I’m sure it could be solved if Theymos wanted to look into it but understandably isn’t going to spend that kind of time on every jacked account.

Tried to buy it back off the hacker but no answer to any of my messages.

Oh well, c’est la vie. Bitcoin is flying so I have other things keeping my spirits up

Theymos delegated account recoveries to a new team to speed things up.

We've streamlined our processes, and Cyrus has put together a team for handling these cases, so account recoveries should now be handled at a reasonable pace again. Additionally, we will be somewhat more lenient in recovering accounts without signatures, though signatures often will still be required, depending on the situation.

If you have a locked account, send a new email to the @bitcointalk.org email address given in your "account locked" error message. (The email address changed a few weeks ago.) If you were previously sending messages to me or Cyrus, send a new email to the address here. We might try to go through the backlog of old-process recoveries in the future, but for now you should send new messages.

Sorry for the delay!

Interesting. Will make an enquiry over the next few days. Any of you ever take part in a group but I set up. If you did and still have any reference to it in messages please let me know. Probably a long shot. I suppose if I bought a casascius with my original account and could prove I still have it? Actually I must have some emails from Mike somewhere

Guys I have a confession to make.

It’s all my fault.

You might remember my post/hat from Dec 2017.

I promised myself I would buy myself a present at 10k

So I bought this....it arrived yesterday

Since I've been wearing it we've been moving at more than 2k a day. It's not coming off.  Grin

We'll all know the reason if BTC crashes...

I'm sleeping in it tonight  Tongue

Well I need to tell you something. I took it off.

Then we crashed 90%.

I have spent the last 18 months in inner turmoil, thinking of all the people I’d let down.

This time I give you my word at 10k it goes on, and it does not come off

Don’t forget the BCash and all the other forks are still inside everyone.
153  Economy / Collectibles / Re: AUCTION - 0.5BTC Ungraded Casascius Brass on: September 26, 2018, 12:35:48 PM
Just realised that I copied the terms of the auction over from an auction last year and didnt think about the minimum increase rule. Anyone have any issues with changing the increment to 0.001 and 0.0001 in the END TIME?

I will wait 24 hours to see if there are any objections and change the OP.

Thanks for understanding

155  Economy / Collectibles / AUCTION - 0.5BTC Ungraded Casascius Brass - Last 6 HOURS on: September 25, 2018, 08:01:25 PM
This Auction is for an ungraded 0.5BTC brass Casascius coin.

My original account used to organise plenty of group buys and had a great trust level. I was hacked around this time last year during the sale of another coin (see here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2174554.0) and I could not restore it unfortunately.

Please feel free to ask any questions to make yourself comfortable. The coin was eventually sold at the end of the last auction from my new account after providing proof that I was telling the truth.

This came direct from Casascius himself was unpacked and put directly into the case. Should be another good opportunity to get a high quality example at decent price.

Once again, you dont need me to tell you that owning one of these in the not too distant future will make you an incredibly cool person. (Babe or guy magnet depending on your preference.)

PICS

I've since made another transaction and this time the change has added on to my total. If this had happened first i would have been buzzing right about now.  Grin

Sorry guys but we neither give assistance about lost coins nor, especially, give assistance if those lost coins are bcash. Please bring to roger's forum. Or try the altcoin section

Ive been part of this thread for years and know there are some knowledgeable people here. The only reason i was even touching the cash was to convert it to BTC.

Again, help will not be unrewarded.

EDIT: As i was typing the TX ID the balance is back up. Phew.

What are the reasons that would happen with BTC or BCH in electrum? Ive never seen the full total leave before coming back later
159  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 25, 2018, 02:28:20 PM
Sorry guys, best place to get an answer for this please. Apologies for the double post.

Best place to ask about a BCH/electrum issue.

I just sent some BCH to shape shift as i have done before many times and my electrum wallet has been emptied. The outputs of the transaction show the ones going to the shapeshift wallet and the remainder going to an unknown address.

How is this possible

Please any advice as quick as possible would be appreciated.

Thanks

If anyone can help resolve it will not go unnoticed

Just check if the unknown address is just a change address inside your electrum wallet.
.
I can see it as a change address there but the balance has gone to 0

Is it just a matter of waiting then? This has never happened before
