1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Just sent from Electrum to another wallet... on: October 29, 2017, 01:18:54 AM
Hello friends Smiley

Last time I was here I was crying about a transfer that was taking 100 hours lol and you guys helped me out... Accelerated it, and told me to slide the bar in Electrum all the day and select dynamic.  OK.... So I just did that, and did a test transfer at 150% Dynamic in Electrum and I have a feeling it will go slow.  Here is the TX number, can anyone tell me if I used the correct fees, and what to do next time?  I just sent 10 min ago, here is tx:

I'm trying to learn, I slid the thingy to 150% in Electrum (the max) so I want to make sure this works and you guys rock Wink

Thanks!

If you don't want to manually calculate fees and would like the best chance at quick confirmation, you should simply set Electrum to use "Dynamic Fees" (Tools -> Preferences -> Fees, and then tick the "Use Dynamic Fees" box)... then on the "Send" tab, slide the fee slider all the way to the right.

This will likely end up with relatively "expensive" fees, but it means your transactions will generally use a fee rate that is consistent with quick confirmation times in the current network environment at the time of sending.

You see that is the thing; I did select Dynamic Fees and I also slid the bar all the way to the right which is max (150%) ... I don't understand why this time it took the longest it has ever taken and was stuck for hours.  I'm lost   Undecided

Thank you so much!  I see it going now!  Wow... I feel so stupid.  If I had known about this before I would have saved my self long days of waiting for large amounts of coins lol.... I have put my self though hell for sure.

So, how should I set up Electrum?  What type of fees can I use on a general basis for most transfers?  0-200 dollars sometimes a little more.

Hope you can help, thanks again this community is fantastic.  Loving it here.

4  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum BTC issues and no confirm on: October 17, 2017, 08:34:22 PM
Hello, I am fairly new to this and new to the forum.  I posted once over in the miner section, I think that is the wrong area for this post.  So I have a problem, and I don't what else to do except ask for help on a public forum full of VERY smart people Smiley

I will give you my details so there isn't a bunch of unnecessary questions needed to pass back and forth... As in I will lay it all out and explain in full.

I used coinbase to get BTC today, and then made a transfer to one of my desktop wallets and that was successful.  That transfer was to Electrum to be specific, and it always takes a while coming from coinbase.

Once I had the coins, I then transferred them again to another address where I save a small amount of every purchase I make.  It was only 20 dollars or so in BTC we are talking about here.

So, when I sent from Electrum I set the fee slider all the way to 150% (thinking ok, this will help) I have been reading about fees, I still am figuring it out.  But it is stuck now for hours, it never has been stuck this long so I'm wondering why, and what I can do to make this transaction complete.

Thanks and sorry, yes I am a n00b I guess.

that is for the transaction I am posting about.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Need help with confirmations on: October 17, 2017, 07:29:59 PM
I am new sort of still, but was told to ask miners if they could help my transaction if it is not confirming (not sure why) .... I just signed up at this forum to ask for help... Would be greatly appreciated I will go to tech support thread also.

Just wanted to ask a miner for help directly if possible.
