The previous dumps at 680$ seem to have made people cautious about buying around this price. This time however things will be different and we will go trhough 680$.

Volume is kind of disappointing at this stage imo.

Is it weird if I just took profit on some of my positions?
24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 30, 2014, 07:44:30 PM
if the bids were well above 630$, shouldn't he reveal the values, to push the price up?

As they already own a shitload of BTC that would be a good idea indeed.

By the way,

Brokers platform Plus500 has no restricted closing dates anymore for the Bitcoin instrument.

Before you had a month time or it would close itself, now none. FYI.

Well they just closed my positions at 613 so dont know what is up with that.

When does the auction finish??

I think on 30th June auction will be finish, and hope sideways movement too and will move upwards after that.

Auction finishes today 6pm EST

I know auction finish today and anonunce on monday but till bid will not anounce we can't say it is finish.

Guys, what, WHAT WHAT WHAT do you think is going to be announced exactly on Monday?  Hmmm?

If you say, "what the selling price was", I'm going to reach through this computer screen and stab you in the jaw with a fork.

The selling price will be anounced monday.

Nothing has happened, yet you are currently reacting as if its the second coming of jesus.

There is something that puzzles me about the nature of bitcoin followers traders here.
They are often highly invested in the value developement of the currency, but so little invested in the creation of that value they follow so closely.
Ofcourse certain announcements that retailer X or payment processor Y is now accepting bitcoin are mentioned, but actively doing something, setting up shop and evangelising with a profit seems to be done somewhere else.

(If you know where, I wouldn´t mind a pointer.)

You did notice this is the speculation sub-forum?
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bolivia Bans Bitcoin. on: June 20, 2014, 02:50:13 PM
Another developing state, that the US would very much like a piece of, bans Bitcoin

http://www.cityam.com/1403264481/bitcoin-banned-bolivian-central-bank-threat-national-currency

Russia, China, Thailand, India, and no doubt many more to come. They all know that Bitcoin was/is a pilot developed by NSA to wage financial warfare on other countries' economies. They can smell the US sanctions and/or other economic pressures and the capital flight via Bitcoin a mile off. A liquid Bitcoin market in a country also makes it very easy for powerful entities to get funds into that economy in order to sponsor 'destabilisers' of that economy/political system to do their deeds.

What we (including myself) all once thought was anarchic internet money of freedom, is actually The Man up to his same old tricks.

I agree that bitcoin might turn out to be yet another trojan horse, to get closer to a fully controlled police state.

My guess would be that we are stuck in a bearish mode until after the FBI auction. People with money want it that way.

^ this. On the other hand if 590$ is bearish I am thrilled to see what bullish looks like.

Mini-rally because this:

"1/Announcement: @BitcoinTrust and SecondMarket's bitcoin trading desk will be forming a syndicate to bid in US Marshals bitcoin auction..."

And they are not going to be the only big parties bidding for the btc. Remember yahoo stating they added btc market info, because clients have shown interest. Go figure what will happen next.

Fuck my life man, fuck it!

It is only a loss if you decide to close the trade.

gmaxwell (Gregory Maxwell) is also a core dev and has expressed his concerns about the situation on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/27lotn/people_dont_realize_how_serious_a_50_attack_is/ci27dpy

He's saying that a pool with 30% is just as bad as a pool with 51%, so according to him the current situation is not any different than before as there have always been pools with around 30% of the network.

Wait, all this time they are concerned the whole bitcoin thing is broken, but they picked this date to all of a sudden spread their concerns? What a bunch of assholes imo, sell their coins and suddenly express their concerns.  Huh
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: FBI coins could sell for a premium on: June 13, 2014, 11:39:54 AM
Would be awesome to see some big investors bid for these coins and them really wanting it. This would legitimize bitcoin even more and send the price to the moon.

Some1 using the Caixin article to create panic and get people to sell their coins  Roll Eyes

I just bought my first bitcoin. Exciting. Could some please share the actual S.R. 2.0 link. Thanks.

I really like what you did there.
That newbie is not me.

The Bitcoin Goddess is NOT PLEASED.  Guess what She does when She is not pleased.

Yes, Jorge, I'm well aware of that. I thought it was a good joke, is all.
Look, the thing is that although you make some useful points, and you are consistently polite in doing so, you are becoming increasingly strident. The fact that you very selectively choose what to argue - and a lot of people have made some very good points against some of your mistaken assumptions recently - means that it's not really worth engaging with you. Literally no point, because you appear to ignore anything that doesn't fit with what you already believe and move on.
That, unfortunately, effectively makes you a very polite troll. And I mean troll in its proper web-forum sense here, not just 'someone who doesn't agree with you'.

Something about a pot and a kettle.

You're suggesting that I'm a very polite troll? That would be an odd thing to say.

I am not suggesting you are a troll, it is just that you accuse Jorge of doing exactly that, which most pro-bitcoiners do.(read text in bold)

Friend of mine just told me they have an event concerning Google glass and bitcoin (dont know if they have anything to do with each other), and he is working at one of the big consultancy companies here, so I am going long on this one.
