Build two DIY1 boards in a cool Bitfury S-HASH case. Used a Sunon Fan for some cooling, this fan is rather noisy but don't have another one that fits right now. The boards a getting a bit hotter than outside a case. With 13.1V they went over 48 degrees Celcius, tuned back the Voltage to 12.5V, temp is stable at 46 degrees C and the hash at 32 to 35 GH/s, I think this is a nice temp-performance-ratio.

Nice! What supply voltage?

4 x DIY2 on a stock PSU 12 to 12.05 V
4 x DIY1 on a dealextreme 120W psu 13.1 V

Congrats!

And here a nice picture of a beefed-up USB hub.
The low-cost adjustable 5V/5A power supply
allows for easy overclocking.

Make sure to apply sufficient forced air cooling,
hex•furys will run hot while overclocked;)

(PS: The connectors sticking out from the
device are for firmware debugging only.
They will normally not be present.)

PSUs like these one?

Anybody run Cgminer from windows? I might have to for a few days until i get another PI.

cgminer 3.12.3 should work (it worked for me when doing some testing on windows 7)

Unfortunately my old psu is off. It has problem and i though i can make it work but i cant. For that i must buy a new one. I see that each board needs 25w to work. What is your opinion to choose a cheap 550-600w psu or a good 400-500w. I think in the next months to buy more boards. Thank you for any advice

Don't buy a BeQuiet Pure Power L8 600W. It only supplies 11.5V on the PCI-E connectors. It's realy weird but I measured it with a Fluke Voltmeter 11.5V is the max. Then I took a SeaSonice S12G and this PSU works just fine at 12 V.

I think you should best use am adjustable PSU. For example one like Intron suggested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-Amp-12-Volt-DC-13-8V-Regulated-Power-Supply-for-Ham-Radio-CB-US-SELLER-/360874766820

On these type of PSU you canadjsut the output voltage, sometimes even up to 13.5V or higher.

I use this one http://dx.com/p/12v-10a-iron-case-power-supply-silver-ac-110-220v-124302 on 4 boards @ 13.1V and it works just fine. They hash at 33 to 35GHs with thermalpasta+heatsink+fan(s). Take notice that if you overclock/volt them warranty voids.

Total of 12 One String Miners hashing at ± 400GH/s

marto74 from technobit ask 185€ for 60Ghash Rev.2 bitfury with the chips board, you don't need buy chips

That's what I was afraid of... price for production SHASH is relatively high..  Embarrassed

Offerte van leverancier/assembleur is binnen, check het (internationaal) topic.

Kort voorbeeld, als we 50 boards maken zijn kosten per board ± 183 euro (excl BTW)

Did we talk about Rev2 chips ? why not 32 chip board it will save the components and make more affordable + push 120Ghas per board make more interest in project

I only have the design and (Gerber/BOM/etc)files for the S-HASH. Don't know if other designs are available for free/opensource? That's why I choose for the S-HASH.
1857  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] S-HASH 40GHs 16 Bitfury Chip Board GROUP-Production on: March 20, 2014, 06:46:03 AM
any update?

Today (or tomorrow at the latest) I will get a quote for 25 - 50 pieces
1858  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: IN STOCK AND SHIPPING - OneStringMiner boards on: March 19, 2014, 11:25:09 PM
Be Quiet Pure Power 600W sucks, it only provides 11,5V from the PCI-E and other 12V connectors. Took a Seasonic S12G and this PSU provides 12.1V (max), better  Grin

de 4 DIY1 boards with the cheapo dealextreme 12V 10A PSU is turned up to 12.6V. Now 12 boards are hashing at a total of ± 404GH/s (± 33.6 per board). Next few days more tuning and testing.

Some more testing  Grin

http://miningonmyown.com/2014/03/19/one-string-miner-test-1/

I found out my PSU only provides 11,5V with the PCI-E cables....  Sad that's why these boards "only" hash at 26 to 29 GH/s. I will try another PSU tomorrow.

I also used thermal paste between heatsink and PCB, keeps it some degrees celcius cooler  Grin

Or use an adjustable power supply, something like this one (just an example):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-Amp-12-Volt-DC-13-8V-Regulated-Power-Supply-for-Ham-Radio-CB-US-SELLER-/360874766820

Output voltage can be set with a potmeter, so you can easily adjust for
the IR drop in the wiring. And often these are cheaper than PC PSUs.

You will be suprised with the hashrate when the boards are operated
'slightly' over 12 Volts:) Have six of them hashing now with a total of
202.78 GH/s at 13V1.  (Remember this warranty thingie;)

intron

I will test this with 1 board  Grin is 13,1V the max for the boards/chips? I use thermal paste and fan for cooling. What is the max temp? around 60 degrees Celcius?
