1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Attention! This address is stealing BTC now! on: June 29, 2011, 10:04:02 PM
Dropbox didn't require a login password for a while a couple weeks ago.  Anyone storing a wallet file on dropbox should've promptly transferred the bitcoins to a new wallet file.

thats why I'm leaving, got no email from them about this security issue, ridiculous
gonna try skydrive + truecrypt combo now
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ALL of my bitcoins stolen (Around 60) . What the F*CK. on: June 29, 2011, 09:52:46 PM
did u have a dropbox account with your wallet stored? if yes, you got the solution
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Attention! This address is stealing BTC now! on: June 29, 2011, 09:41:43 PM
@presha

A targeted virus, one that just opens wallet.dat and sends it off, one that you ran on your own accord, will not be detected by antivirus. No antivirus company yet looks for programs trying to access your wallet.dat.

Please tell us what you have downloaded and run lately so that we can find the program doing this.

I'm 99% sure now that someone hacked into my dropbox account, where I stored the first backup of my wallet.dat a few months ago, when I started mining. The file was compressed and with a rather long password, but I assume It wasn't a problem for some bruteforce app to crack it.
I'm so glad that this was my very old backup and I lost only 0.46 BTC (doing encrypted backups only on usb drives now)

btw http://techcrunch.com/2011/06/20/dropbox-security-bug-made-passwords-optional-for-four-hours/

goodbye dropbox...

my client sent 0.46 btc to this address today.. by itself.
im on win7x64 with latest updates, scanned the whole pc, checked open ports and autoruns.. and nothing.

i need help cus this is serious, if my antivirus and 4 anti-troyan apps say my windows is clean and it clearly isnt, there is something wrong.

145$

$145 where?  i haven't found it in stock anywhere at anything close to that price

I'm from Poland, managed to buy it after all the 5850's were sold out on allegro.pl (biggest polish auction site) .. some guy sold like 100 of them in few days. now the price is ~157$ Smiley

gotta love this card - went from 240 to 310 mhash on default voltage

asus 5850 with directcu, loving the cooling

using the newest drivers (11.5 + fix) and phoenix with phatk mod.. no probs

the highest i got was 420 mhash with 1076/300, but it was too hot for me (72C at 1.35V) .. geez why did I buy only 2 of those cards.. sigh
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Estimated BTC reward remains 0.000 after 16 hours of mining on: June 04, 2011, 10:14:25 AM
Where do I enter the URL?
The .conf file in %appdata% only contains username and password, should I enter it there? And if so, how?

Code:
rpcuser=(myname)
rpcpassword=(mypass)

instructions how to set up your miner are right on the front page of slush. just read them.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Deepbit offline... on: May 29, 2011, 11:46:53 PM
perhaps a well equipped hacker or dos kiddie got sick of seeing bitcoin being monopolized.

It does not bother me one bit. my 1 g/hash + is happy over at btcmine.com

mine was happy at deepbit, until it got attacked, so.. ;]

I hope pool owners will take some precautions now..
btw. how can one stop a ddos attack? or defend against it?
17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Deepbit offline... on: May 29, 2011, 11:37:38 PM
I hope btcmine or any other pool wont be next
someone is really pissed ... or just bored.

18  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Deepbit offline... on: May 29, 2011, 11:04:50 PM
well a ddos attack.. we could have expected this to happen sooner or later
19  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~1600 Gh/s Mining Pool] SSL, API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: May 29, 2011, 10:51:48 PM
There is a DDoS attack happening against deepbit servers.
Now I'm taking some countermeasures against this.

Sorry again for the delay.

;o

hope everything will be okay Smiley
