41  Other / Politics & Society / Who is now the leader of the world? on: November 17, 2017, 06:43:17 AM
Trump has shed United State's role as the leader of the world. A Lot of countries look up to the United States previously to take the lead on world affairs like climate change and human rights. Trump's America first policy and his immigration stance seem unpopular to some persons. His withdrawal of the United States from the 2015 Paris agreement on climate change complicates the whole thing. Who will now fill the void between China, Russia, Germany or Canada?
42  Other / Politics & Society / Donald Trump's Asian Tour lacks impact on: November 16, 2017, 03:49:31 PM
Trump just returned back from his Asian tour, praising himself in his characteristic manner as to the fact that he made tremendous progress on the tour but if you look at it objectively, he failed to bring up a lot of key issues like human rights and US leadership in the region. He also seemed to be at home with the autocratic regimes in Asia. I think he was conned by China's warm welcome and missed the road. He has really achieved noting in my opinion and the US has lost its global leadership
43  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: November 15, 2017, 02:26:20 PM
The world really needs virtual currencies especially Bitcoin to help liberate the global economy from the dominant currency, the Dollar. It is already a known fact that transactions using bitcoin is faster, cheap, safe and devoid of bottlenecks. It is also transparent but all that is needed now is a more serious structure and perhaps a conventional regulation.
44  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When will Religions die? on: November 14, 2017, 09:59:02 PM
Well, if you are looking to see the end of religion, I would say that you may have to wait endlessly because religion will be part of the world for as long as it lasts. People will always have their belief system. People will always worship their supreme deity and so, religion is not about to die any soon
45  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: November 13, 2017, 02:09:35 PM
It's really good to drink alcohol from time to time because it helps reduce stress and ease tension.
46  Other / Off-topic / Examination the true test of knowledge on: November 13, 2017, 10:03:50 AM
A Lot of controversies have trailed the assertion as to whether examination is the true test of knowledge. What is your take
47  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why People Are Not Honest. on: November 13, 2017, 10:00:14 AM
There are a lot more of con men out there now than honest people. The world has indeed changed and people are actively seeking means of out doing and out smarting others. Though, there are a few honest folks out there but 80 percent cannot be blindly trusted.
48  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get girls when you're not handsome? on: November 13, 2017, 09:40:52 AM
Well, to me, when you are not handsome, you only get the girls when your pocket is deep. Money rules the world. With enough cash you can have beauty queens running head over knees to get your attention.
49  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump is better than Obama? on: November 10, 2017, 11:04:35 AM
No! Trump is in no way better than Obama. As a matter of fact, Trump is not even in Obama's league. Obama is highly charismatic leader that helped unite Americans irrespective of the fact that he is black. Trump has rather divided Americans. Under Obama, the US have a strong and firm grip of global leadership and world affairs but Trump has lost it. Obama is far more intellectual positioned as compared with Trump.
50  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How did Americans get so damn stupid? on: November 10, 2017, 05:25:03 AM
You speak in abstract terms. There is a need for specifics so that we can properly understand your context of America's 'stupidity'.
51  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: November 07, 2017, 06:49:32 PM
It's not only those that practice Islam that are terrorists. Terrorism can easily be found in any religion or clime. It is more pronounced in Islam because most of the terrorists allegedly carry out their heinous crimes in the name of Islam and Allah. There are cristians and even atheists that kill people but they don't claim to do so in the name of any God. Islamists terrorists use Islam wrongly as a yardstick and cover for their crimes
52  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if Bitcoin became a legal currency? on: November 07, 2017, 05:29:58 AM
Well, Bitcoin becoming a legal currency will bring about a new era in international financial transactions. However, this is highly dependable on the level of legalisation and adoption. We need to be very clear if we are talking about global legalisation or a situation were just a country or region legalised Bitcoin. But by and large if Bitcoin is legalised, one thing that is clear apart from making Bitcoiners instantly rich is that buying and selling will get much more easier.
53  Economy / Economics / Re: Legalizing Bitcoin on: November 06, 2017, 08:46:01 PM
What governments need to do with regards to legalising bitcoin is to build a very solid structure around its use and procedures. There is a need for a legislative and legal framework to be drawn and established to regulate and monitor the use of Bitcoin. An agency needs to be created to register those who use and invest in Bitcoin with serious monitoring capacity.
54  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would society be without the internet? on: November 06, 2017, 07:43:58 PM
Without internet, society will return back to stone age. The internet has turned the world into a global village where anything happening in any part of the world spreads like wild fire. The internet has eased communication in all facets and ramifications. Withiut the internet, society is doomed
55  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is every country really corrupt? on: November 06, 2017, 05:08:04 PM
Corruption is a major problem in my country Nigeria. It affects every strata of our society and there efforts to fight and combat the menace to no avail. Corruption is somewhat institutionalised and taken to the level of impunity. The new government in my country came with a pledge to fight corruption but the process is slow and replete with landmines. Every country of the world has its own share of corruption in my opinion
56  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Main Cause of accidents/road safety on: November 06, 2017, 01:53:25 PM
There are various reasons as to why accidents occurs just like you rightly listed, however, there are still other things or phenomenon that causes accidents. Bad roads with pot holes causes accident. Reckless driving on part of drivers causes accident. Tiredness and fatigue on part of drivers also causes accident and then lack of concentration and focus. Lack of experience also causes accidents.
57  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you have a gun? on: November 04, 2017, 08:44:04 PM
I really don't have a gun but I will love to have one for protection. It is a herculean task in my country, Nigeria to legally possess a gun.
58  Economy / Economics / Regulating Bitcoin on: November 04, 2017, 12:15:56 PM
Cryptocurrency has been widely criticised for lack of regulation. Do you think it is possible to come up with a regulatory framework around Bitcoin?
59  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iron Curtain on: November 04, 2017, 11:05:49 AM
The iron curtain is seldom used now as a term to refer to the old soviet union. It was basically used to refer to the boundaries separating Europe into two fronts, until the end of the cold war.
