To be real, DO will not surpass BTC but there is room for both to do fabulously!
Any coin may surpass BTC it's just the matter of time. Being the original doesn't mean being an undisputed leader. Exactly, bitcoin is only the first cryptocurrency to exit, but it will not be the main one for a long time, and more because of the current characteristics that define it, and I practically cease to be the reference for the new altcoin, and deeponion if it can be worth even more than bitcoin, but that requires time and adaptation. Do you remember when the iPhones were out? I remember that it was the first digital smartphone i saw in my life, Some people till now adopted the name iPhone for smartphones even if it is an HTC or a Huawei, Because iPhone revolutionized the world when it came up, But This doesn't mean that Samsung or Sony aren't great, they share the mobile market altogether. This is a small example that adapts for Crypto, Why bitcoin is famous and has a high value? because it's simply the first one, so it dominated the market alone for years, Now DeepOnion and others projects might just be like Sony and Samsung. I don't think we can't compare Bitcoin and DeepOnion anyway. It's like comparing two different things with two different purproses. Bitcoin is the main trading pair in crypto, it has a transparent blockchain, it cannot evolve much because too many different actors are involved and too much money is at stake...DeepOnion is new, it aims for full privacy, it can evolve and become much more than privacy coins we already know. The single greatest use of cryptocurrencies is to be a transfer of value. It doesn't matter how much better a coin is to Bitcoin, and lets me frank most coins are, as long as Bitcoin puts out updates to improve its ability to complete more transactions efficiently (i.e. lightning network) then it will remain on top. Bitcoin today is ALOT stronger than the Bitcoin of 6-months ago because of the lightning network. IMO, Ethereum is a safe bet at spot number 2 as well. That said, spots 3-10 are open season to DeepOnion and I don't know of any other coin that are currently ranked 51 down, other than Aion and Oyster, that I can say that about. Considering where Onion is right now, that should says ALOT about how bullish I am on Onion. Well said, people will anyhow value bitcoin to most "expensive" or highest market value coin probably forever just because it was the first ever cryptocurrency. That doesn't mean that people will not use another crypto in their daily life, like a privacy coin. Bitcoin will end up as a store of value anyhow due to its increasing price, it will not be suitable to pay 0.0000000001 BTC at the bakery Blockchains may have layers, so what if devs manage to deploy portable devices wallet to pay groceries in an user friendly way and DNS system like? Strange numbers in crypto will disappear when mass adoption will be achieved IMO, they're still here because devs are focused on more pressing problems. |

I doubt it will happen. Maybe it would have happened in a bullish market but the way things are now, most people will understand that this is the worst time to dump. Especially those who were here in January and saw that DeepOnion can reach prices like $18. I agree, sell with this price is not a great move, and there’s no sufficient volume for whales to dump their coins (even if I don’t think they want do it) People dumping Onions after aidrops do it on a weekly basis and the price is not moving that much because of it. I don't think it will be an important factor pricewise, I doubt whales will leave the project as it is only getting started.  Agreed, the end of the Airdrop is nothing compared to what's coming. People dump Onions all the time and the price barely moves + who will be this crazy to dump them with the current price? That's like throwing stacks of money in the fireplace Lol, they must be Pablo Escobar to be able to throw money at the fireplace  Yes and in order to be a baller like Pablo Escobar you need to HODL strong and buy the dip, not sell!!! People that will make the most money in long run are the ones that are buying the dips, they might not catch the absolute bottom but they will be buying all the way down and benefit greatly on the way up. Please only informed technical answers, no baseless opinions please. Monero is a well developed project and is the king of privacy coins, this leak in privacy is already fixed, but those who have made transactions before the fix are exposed. From what I understood the Monero problem is in how the transaction mixer works, but let's wait for someone who knows more... DeepOnion did not even exist when these leaks were discovered, and I think our devs are aware about this problem (this is not a news, from what I read the problem was already known). |

If you can afford to you should hold your coins. Every thing this project has produced so far shows that this is not a flash in the pan coin. There is literally no reason to sell now unless you need the money ...badly. Airdrops nearly finished and a great year ahead for developments. Dont sell now when markets are down , you will regret it.
Very good advice. If you've got investments already... HODL THEM! If you can afford to put more into btc/ether/etc at this moment... do so! Pick up some more onions and other coins. Everything is cheap!!! where it will be in a few months, once people get their taxes and all...let alone where everything will be in say 9 months time from now Putting money on btc will not give you high return now. The train has gone already. So, better to put in altcoin like DeepOnion. I am trying to manage some funds to buy some more $ONION. that's not right in my opinion, same argument was used on january 2017 and then you had this mega run to 20k usd, sure there were other that gain even more on btc (for example ripple, i know there are mixed feelings about but you can't deny that last year was a beast) onion has potential to grow indeed but i won't give btc for a missed train But lower market cap coins surely can grow more than Bitcoin. In a bull run coins like DeepOnion will outrun Bitcoin's profits IMO, they're more responsive to the trend shift! I've always perceived Bitcoin as a missed train . |
