827  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When do speculators plan to cash out? on: November 18, 2012, 05:47:02 AM
my bitcoin is a savings account.

i hope i never have to dip into my saving.

but if i NEED too i will.... but i will plan to replace and grow my savings

Speculators will always trade a currency as volatile as bitcoin. There's too much profit potential to just cash out. Up AND down.
828  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is stealing Bitcoins illegal? on: November 17, 2012, 08:31:38 PM
It's illegal. Scamming and stealing and hacking are all illegal. And if courts are stupid we explain the bitcoin.

That's not how it works. You can't just explain something to a court. There has to be a law against it.

They realise it has a large real world value.

Do they? How can you be so sure?

No law references the virtual currencies.

That's right. That is the problem.

But under the general 4 laws of society.
No stealing
No murder.
No terrorism.
No scamming.

There are no general laws for society. That's not how the law works. There are specific laws for specific situations. Legislation is not the ten commandments from the Bible.

There are general laws of morality that apply to all humans, regardless of one's belief in them (or lack thereof). The constitution of the USA (correctly) acknowledges the rights of all individuals under God. It is this reality that all who presume to reside in a moral vacuum, are blinded against.

Why Hostess Twinkies Must Be Saved

The announcement that Hostess is closing forever should make any red-blooded American cringe. And hoard too. See Hostess closure sparks Twinkies rush. Some things are sacred to American culture. Quite apart from many other Hostess products, Twinkies stand alone. Indeed, as a cultural icon—let alone as disaster foodstuffs that never spoil—Twinkies need saving.
831  Economy / Services / WANTED - SERVICE TO PROMOTE EBAY AUCTIONS on: November 15, 2012, 04:59:37 PM
If anyone has this capability, please PM me.

Basically I just want more views on my auction. Especially views from people who want what I am selling.
832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC price justification on: November 15, 2012, 03:39:34 PM
Am I the only one that sees a hideous crash in the not so distant future?

Besides the "Litecoin is silver to bitcoins gold" analogy (which I personally think is crap), what is the additional functionality a/o reason to support this currency over bitcoin?

Looking to snap up cheap litecoins?  Smiley
833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC price justification on: November 15, 2012, 06:05:52 AM
The only difference between bitcoin and altcoins is: it was here first. That's it.
Forget about block reward, forget about confirmations and proof of stake, those are just tweaks. Its nearly the same code.

There is no reason some altcoins can't have a future, unless bitcoin doesn't have one.
834  Economy / Goods / Re: [CHEAP] 12 Months NETFLIX Gift Codes on: November 15, 2012, 05:57:41 AM
Let me know if it works in canada, in that case I would want one too

Works in Canada AND US. (VPN)

Netflix allows access to more content when it detects a US IP.

Other than that, there is no difference.
835  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell or Hold - SR Back Online on: November 14, 2012, 11:51:20 PM
honestly i do not think wasting our tax dollars on cops trying to arrest coke dealers is a good idea

the money should go to support groups for addicts and more education on drugs in school

busting coke dealers will not affect demand, but reducing the user base would.

but you know, i have no control what the government does with my Tax money so... wtv

Ron Paul advocated legalizing hard drugs in order to reduce crime. Whoops. There goes silk road. So THAT'S why he didn't get nominated. Plus, the US government has been and is implicated in drug smuggling [1].

Yes. With 68% certainty (50% margin of error)

"The number e is an important mathematical constant, approximately equal to 2.71828, that is the base of the natural logarithm.[1] It is the limit of (1 + 1/n)n as n approaches infinity, an expression that arises in the study of compound interest, and can also be calculated as the sum of the infinite series"
838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PPC/TRC exchange on: November 14, 2012, 07:19:44 AM
PPC/TRC page is now missing from the exchange.

Did you have coins in the trade you lost?

No, wasn't trading.

840  Economy / Goods / Re: [CHEAP] 12 Months NETFLIX Gift Codes on: November 13, 2012, 06:31:29 PM

Confirmed receiving the code, however I'm trying to figure out a way to re-activate my account without adding a credit card.

I guess there's no way to do that. Will get back to you in a bit, I'm at work now.

You'll need a PayPal account or some sort of credit card. None of which need to have funds, even a prepaid Visa will do.

Prepaid won't work because the account name has to match the card.
