4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which type of trading you think is good? on: October 03, 2020, 04:19:25 PM
Both analyzes give a certain efficiency depending on the state of the market.
If the market is bearish, then technical analysis will show itself best as the purchasing power of the market is reduced.

At the same time, event analysis can work well when there is a large amount of free money in the market, which allows events to influence the crowd in favor of buying.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why people run away from trading!!! on: October 03, 2020, 04:16:31 PM
Most people who give up trading usually have quite bad experiences, such as losing all of their capital. So these people decide to run away
from trading, and consider themselves not suitable for trading. Though are like that very wrong. Everyone has the same right to  succeed
in trading. All we have to do is learn strategies about trading, and also increase trading experience. So you can succeed in trading, if successful
in trading, of course reduce the number of people who intend to run away from trading.

If everything was so simple, we could see not 5% of successful traders out of 100, but 50% at least.
Trading is a combination of understanding of mathematics, probability theory, various kinds of analyzes, market psychology, including psychology.

This is a whole world, a whole volume of knowledge necessary to understand how one of the most obscure structures in the world works, which also has a strong speculative fatcore.
How many people do you think are willing to go into all of this?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam victims on: October 02, 2020, 06:18:32 PM
Unfortunately, most cybersecurity professionals are scammers. It’s hard to admit, but it’s true that those people who help to protect themselves, they will then "make" you.

Where did you get such an unambiguous conclusion? There are many cybersecurity firms and companies out there. All of them strictly depend on their own reputation. If those for whom these firms work are hacked, they will receive the most unflattering feedback and a huge churn of customers. Moreover, each employee is identified, which will lead to the application of a certain kind of responsibility to him in case of fraud.

7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best trading platform for beginners? on: October 01, 2020, 10:24:21 PM
Newbies need to start with a demo account, so any platform with a demo account will be fine.
All exchanges are to one degree or another the same in their interface, once you figure out one, you will immediately figure it out in all.

But first, you need a safe environment to practice your skills, and a demo account is exactly what that environment provides.
In addition to learning how to interact with the exchange interface, you will also learn many basic things in trading.
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your strategy in taking profit on: October 01, 2020, 10:20:16 PM
My strategy is to keep my finger on the pulse of the market virtually 24/7 when I am actively trading.

Two options.
Either I have a trading plan for each of the assets, which means I have placed stop losses and stop profits for each coin.
Either I have a global plan for the movement of the market trend as a whole, then I fix myself with my hands when the indicators I need work out.

It looks like I was mistaken and did not insert a link to my spread on the platform, but inserted a link to my POA. I have inserted a link to the spread in my POA.

Is it ok?  Smiley

Looks like there is no way to change application on the platform.

15  Economy / Exchanges / Uniswap goes live with a governance token, UNI on: September 17, 2020, 07:43:02 AM
Uniswap has officially gone live with its governance token, dubbed UNI.

One billion tokens have been minted, according to a blog post, which will become available over a four-year period. 60% of that amount will be allocated to community members and 21.51% to "team members and future employees." 17.80% of tokens will be allocated to do investors with a four-year vesting schedule, and 0.069% will be allocated to advisors with a four-year vesting cycle.

"A perpetual inflation rate of 2% per year will start after 4 years, ensuring continued participation and contribution to Uniswap at the expense of passive UNI holders," the post explains.

The post positioned the UNI as the next step for a fast-growing protocol, noting the DEX's rapidly expanding volume and liquidity figures.

"Having proven product-market fit for highly decentralized financial infrastructure with a platform that has thrived independently, Uniswap is now particularly well positioned for community-led growth, development, and self-sustainability," the team wrote. "The introduction of UNI (ERC-20) serves this purpose, enabling shared community ownership and a vibrant, diverse, and dedicated governance system, which will actively guide the protocol towards the future."

This project is not a scam

agree, it is not a scam, it just failed to be a successful project, there is no development, mining power is low and it is easy to make an attack to the network

it is a surprise for me that ETC is still within top 50 projects, not to mention that ETC was in top 20 few months ago, i expect that it will go down in the future, does not offer anything new, there is no projects that are implemented on this block-chain and active development is on a really low level

I think this is pretty revealing. Despite the fact that almost all exchanges abandoned ETS deposits, at least for now, plus 3 attacks in such a short time.
All this did not significantly affect the price of the coin, and the project continues its work. It certainly cannot be called a scam.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / U.S. Department accuses 2 Russians of extortion on: September 16, 2020, 09:31:43 PM
Two Russian nationals have been charged with defrauding three cryptocurrency exchanges and their customers in a series of crimes that involved over $16.8 million in crypto assets, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced Wednesday.

According to the press release, Danil Potekhin and Dmitrii Karasavidi were involved in a scheme that from 2017 to 2018 and targeted the customers of three crypto service providers–two U.S.-based and one international.

“The individuals who administered this scheme defrauded American citizens, businesses, and others by deceiving them and stealing virtual currency from their accounts,” said Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

According to the press statement, Potekhin created fraudulent web domains imitating those of legitimate currency exchanges. When customers visited Potekhin's "spoofed" websites and entered their login information, Potekhin was able to gain access to their accounts.

Potekhin and his team then allegedly used a variety of ways to exfiltrate the stolen funds, including transferring the money to exchange accounts created using stolen identities, circumventing exchanges' internal controls and creating a market manipulation scheme whereby virtual currency was purchased quickly to increase demand and price, and then sold for a much higher price to reap profits.

Japanese crypto asset exchanges Coincheck and bitFlyer announce the handling of Ethereum Classic

Japanese crypto asset exchange Coincheck announced on September 14 that it will temporarily suspend the purchase and sale of Ethereum Classic (ETC) and the accumulation of ETC on its crypto asset accumulation service.
According to the press release, the temporary suspension of ETC handling is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on September 15. The reopening of the program has not been determined at this time.

Coincheck’s temporary suspension of ETC is in response to the fact that ETC has been experiencing an ongoing major reorganization (reorg) since early August, which is believed to have been caused by the 51% attack, the company said. Coincheck has also reached this decision because if ETC trading increases on Coincheck in the future, Coincheck will not be able to send and receive money to conduct covered transactions between domestic and international crypto asset exchanges in order to mitigate risk, and will not be able to safely manage users’ assets in a legally compliant manner, and may not be able to accommodate users’ sales.

On the same day, September 14, bitFlyer, another Japanese crypto asset exchange, also announced that it will stop depositing ETC from 5:00 p.m. on September 15.

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Gameplays and Strategies on: September 02, 2020, 08:19:04 PM
As a poker player, you know yourself that it's always X% and Y% of skill. I personally think that luck plays huge part in poker, maybe 60%, but, on the other hand, it's not like in slots or dice, which are 100% luck based. That's why I would call poker a skill based game, where luck still plays a big part.

re the short run, i would agree. in the long run---unless you happen to be extremely lucky or unlucky statistically---i truly believe it boils down to skill much more than that. this is especially true IMO because skilled players know how to read hand ranges, employ pot odds, prevent tilt, control pot size, etc to give themselves an additional edge so it's not purely based on the chance of hand A winning vs hand B.

If you mean experienced vs inexperienced player, I totally agree with you. But there are thousands of pretty good poker players in the world, and when, say, a 100 of them meet in a tournament with 20 paid places, it depends 90% on luck, who of them will end up ITM.

I personally think that today any online poker tournament with $100+ prize pool attracts several such players, and who of them will win  depends mostly on luck.

Basically, that's what I mean when saying "luck still plays a big part". I don't take inexperienced players into account.

I think you're overestimating luck. It plays a very important role in every single tournament, locally, over a short distance.
But if we take a large sample of tournaments, then luck will be much less important. In fact, every decision made in a tournament has an aspect of luck, but if we sum it up, we can see that the main factor is skill.

Since the quantity and quality of your decisions depends on how large the factor of luck will be, both locally and globally.
The shorter the distance, the higher the factor, the longer it is, the lower it is.
