Bios MOD with not suitable straps - yes

@ Mr.Phoenix i know you are busy, you promised add straps for polaris cards, waiting,,,,,, thanks
Yes. It would be great to be able to use the raw strap string (96 characters) with "-straps" option for polaris cards.

With Adrenaline 20.4.2, I am only getting 10.5 to 11 MH/s in my Rx580 8GB cards in PhoenixMiner. Tried the usual steps, used DDU to reinstall drivers, did a fresh Windows install as well. No improvements, the hash rate stays at around 11 only. Was getting 30 MH/s with the 2017 beta drivers all this while.
The only reason I upgraded the drivers was Claymore died and when I tried mining with PhoenixMiner, while the hashrate came upto 30 MH/s, it wouldn't undervolt using cvvdc and was causing too much power to be drawn.
What am I missing?
In AMD global settings try to change GPU Workload from Graphics to Compute for each card. Use the -rxboost 1 option in PM command and run the miner as administrator.

can someone tell me how can we set pool difficulty manualy on the miner ? didn't find it anywhere even on the readme.txt It depends on the pool. If a pool allows that, you will find how to set diff on their website.

Do you think it would be possible to post screen shot of your miner file AND config file so I can see? (You can hide your wallet number and rig name if you want of course) Thanks in advance
There is no secret in my config but I prefer not to post it here as it would just create more confusion for you, so forget the config above as well. Start from scratch, download PhoenixMiner, open start_miner.bat file with notepad and replace your wallet, then save and try to run it. Also read the readme.txt file in the same folder where you can find a lot other information. Before asking any other questions, remember to specify which GPU you are using. Good luck! Hello, Ive been mining without any trouble. I just seem to have trouble with 5.2d. I have MSI RX 580 8GB that is running well with another version of Phoenix Miner I also have 2 XFX RX 570 4GB and 1 MSI RX 570 4GB. Havent been able to run any of them due to them being 4GB. This is why I have decided to try 5.2d. My 4GB cards are currently NOT plugged in. So I only hvave my 8GB card. But it seems like I have been getting error with 5.2d. Can't even get it to work with my 8 GB Card.... Hello, what error do you get with the 8GB card? Important tips for 4GB cards (read first page), assuming you are using windows : - If you can't use integrated GPU, replace the primary GPU with one with 6 or 8 GB VRAM.
- (Windows) With PhoenixMiner 5.2e either remove the -daglim option entirely (it is set to auto by default), or set it to -daglim 4023, which should work on all 470/480/570/580/590 cards with "good" drivers (see bellow)
- (Windows) If your cards doesn't work with the default DAG limit of 4023 and require substantial decrease to 4006 or 3990, you need to update to one of the "good" AMD drivers for Windows: from 18.12.1.1 to 19.7.5 (inclusive), and from 19.12.2 to 20.11.1 (inclusive)
Try with 5.2e.

RX 580 4GB - 20.4.2 drivers - Win 10 (1709)
@epoch 375 - PM 5.2c 31.7 MH/s (stable) @epoch 376 - PM 5.2c 28.8 MH/s (stable) @epoch 376 - PM 5.2d 29.8 MH/s (in testing)
I'm still using PM 5.1c for 8GB cards, stable so far.
Thanks PM

@Lolliedieb Hi, after about 12 hours of using version 1.12 I have 0 hw errors, so I can confirm that in my case this issue is solved. Thank you very much.
Today after a while that the epoch has changed, hashrate has dropped to 1.2Mh. Manually restarting the miner without 4GB related parameters, the hashrate returned to normal, but after a while it dropped again. I will try to play with 4GB params hoping to solve.
Same problem here, but the epoch is the same as yesterday We should try add : --keepfree 16 --4g-alloc-size 3992 Letīs test it some hours Sorry, I was wrong to write about the epoch. I meant that when the epoch changed to #372 I was already using version 1.12 for a few hours. Yes, I'm trying these settings too: --keepfree 16 --4g-alloc-size 3992 Currently it seems stable even if the hashrate has dropped by about 2MH

On github his last activity is Sep 14, 2020.
The thread from Claymore here links to mega not github. Can you show where Claymore links to that github? Claymore has never used github for his software so don't trust links other than the one on first page because they are surely trojans / scams.

Same problem here almost 10% Hw error shares, Probably is an internal algo problem miner related...
Ok, thx ... waiting the fix.

I switched this card (580 4GB) from PM to LolM, hashrate is fine but I have a lot of hw errors. It didn't happen before. I'm trying to lower the clocks but it looks the same. Win 10 - driver 18.3.4

that sounds about right. the only disadvantage is if you add oddball hardware you need to install the drivers manually. which isnt a big deal on a rig that doesnt see hardware changes for long periods of time.
Thx, totally agree. One of my rig updated to windows version 2004 and it seems that there is no changes in all my cards and also to mining speed, I have sapphire nitro+ rx 570 8gb and also the radeon software automatically updated to radeon 20.9.2
I see automatic updates as a lottery for a mining rig: everything could work as before, better or worse. Therefore I prefer to block all automatic updates and manually install / test the version of video drivers I prefer, having the possibility to uninstall the previous drivers with DDU. I can always revert back the standard configuration to re-enable automatic updates if I need them. I just hope that guide still works for latest Win 10 releases.

Are you using Windows 10? Then most likely it was some forced Windows update which included new drivers for your AMD GPUs. I ran into this problem a few times in the past. It would either not hash at all because all the overclocking settings were reset OR it would hash at a slow speed because compute mode was disabled by default.
It was a pain in the butt to disable but somehow with some reg hack I was able to prevent any updates from happening again. Search the web and there is a guide on how to disable Windows 10 updates. Its pretty indepth and you need to block access to certain DNS hosts.
there are (or were) a couple services that i disabled in win10 1709 and that machine has not updated since. pretty sure i didnt do any dns stuff (for instance my hosts file is still stock). but again that version 1709. that was from a guide i found online a couple years ago. so i have no idea where i got it or if that method (disabling various services only) still works. I'm still on version 1709 too. Here is that guide: 1) How to Disable Drivers Update in Windows 10: Windows key+R > Type gpedit.msc and hit Enter > Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update. Double-click "Do not include drivers with Windows Update" and set it to Enabled. 2) How to Disable Windows 10 Update: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update. Double-click "Configure Automatic Updates" and set it to Disabled.

Ok, it is always advisable to check logs or do some tests after system updates.
