I'm new here too. I would like to lose this 'newbie' status so I can post in discussions that I have some interest in, but I don't really understand what I need to do. It's not clear to me what constitutes a 'substantial' post. Maybe I will get lucky, and the gods of this board will consider this humble missive as 'substantial'. Then I could join the pantheon of Regular Users who can post as well as read. Ah, well, I can only hope.
Or you can be like everyone else and just spam your way to 5 posts, I really don't think anyone cares about the Newbie section enough to get rid of all the dud posts
Ah, so that's the trick. I didn't realize you had to make 5 posts... The "Newbie Readme" says 1 'substantial' post and wait 4 hours. Thanks for the heads up.
