Got this anonymously. It's pretty funny. Somebody sent me two calls, one which went to voicemail and one which went to him.

http://www.mediafire.com/?ossttvmnec9lp4p

On the plus side, this means he's hasn't given up on his phone yet, so we can continue the harassment! (I'm looking at you OgNasty Cheesy)

do you have his address?

put an add up on cl and make a deal using email. tell them to come over and pick up the items.
call for taxi service and they need help walking to the car so ask them to come to the door...
pizza, all sorts of food
call for hookers...

Alas, no I don't. If I did, I could have probably just sorted this whole thing out with his parents or something. Oh well. All I have is his name, phone no, and email addy.

One thing I can tell you is that he doesn't like hearing a fax machine on the other end of a 4am wakeup call.

More stories please! hehe

I haven't been able to get him to pickup the phone again.  I think he gave up on his phone...

Well then you did your job very well sir. Cheesy

Let me know of any further developments. hehe.

Yeah, craigslist scared me away from using their personals that way because they put up a big scary message saying they would help to track me down if the victim reported that someone falsely used their number.

And apparently craigslist is smart enough to not let me post new ones using the proxies I tried...

769  Economy / Services / Re: BOUNTY: Bitcoins for prank calls! on: July 14, 2011, 05:26:33 PM

770  Economy / Services / Re: BOUNTY: Bitcoins for prank calls! on: July 14, 2011, 04:29:57 PM

Hmm, interesting. I switched my 5870 to be the bottom card, and it promptly started hating life even more at like 96 degrees! O.o Cheesy

So...back to the top it goes. Oh well. I guess 90 isn't *that* bad hehe.

Anyone feel like doing me a favor and posting this on reddit or 4chan or something? I feel like it'd be tacky if I did it myself. :/

But this thread could be PURE GOLD! :DDDDD
773  Economy / Services / Re: BOUNTY: Bitcoins for prank calls! on: July 13, 2011, 11:28:02 PM
Also, added bonus if you can somehow reenact "The Murder Scene Call on the Bob and Tom show"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkdoogjic4I

Haha, that's awesome. I'm down with paying a little bonus for that. That definitely falls under "extra btc for hilarity" Cheesy
774  Economy / Services / Re: Wanted: Way to spam a cellphone with thousands of text messages on: July 13, 2011, 10:42:09 PM
Haha okay. As you wish

.1 btc bounty - That's $1.40! Cheesy to anyone who prank calls this number 281-685-0510, records it, and shares it with us here in this thread.

Scammer's name is Shawn Martin. Bonus bitcoins for hilarious content! Try to make it at an inconvenient time. Wink

Yes!

OP Suggestion: Rename this thread something like: [BOUNTY] Bitcoins for prank calls

Caller suggestions:
1) Use a heavy accent, then accuse him of racism if he claims he can't understand you.
2) Tell him he won a big prize, then make him do something ridiculous to claim the prize.
    a. "TV Show: All you have to do to claim your $1M is dig a 6 ft deep hole in your parents' lawn before they notice!"
    b. "Radio Show: All you have to do to claim your trip to Tahiti is convince your parents you are gay."
3) Pretend you are an investigating a crime, and he is the suspect
4) Pretend you are an angry gay man jealous of his flirting with your partner
5) Offer $100 payment if he completes your survey, then ask lots of embarrassing questions
6) The old classic: claim that he called you.
7) If you are a girl, or know one who can pull this off: "Shawn, I'm calling from the doctor's office. I'm pregnant!" (For best results, have her talk in a hoarse whisper because she has laryngitis)
8 ) Extra points if you get him to divulge his address (where should we send the check?)

Genius!!! If someone gets #8, 1 btc bounty!!!!
775  Economy / Services / Re: Wanted: Way to spam a cellphone with thousands of text messages on: July 13, 2011, 10:40:06 PM
You can send texts for free with email gateways:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_carriers_providing_SMS_transit

yeah, but I don't necessarily want to spend my time sending 1000 separate emails is the problem. :/
776  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: In a dual graphics configuration, which graphics card hates life more?Top or Bot on: July 13, 2011, 10:04:05 PM
Seems like I was wrong. Top card has a harder life.

Guess I'll switch the position of my 5870 and 5850 then, since the 5870 was on top and is running at 86 Celsius when mining  (at 96% fan!) while the 5850 underneath enjoys 70 degree temps at 52% fan.

Post the phone number and a bounty for recorded prank calls with him.

Come on, do it!

clamtxt.com

there you go, exactly what you need

oh and donations accepted at http://payb.tc/kookiekrak

=D

Thanks, but this part kills it. :/ "We have many measures added to our service to keep it fully legal, such as automatically stopping the texts if the user replies with 'stop' or similar phrases. "

I appreciate your help though! Smiley How did you find that site?

Talk to the kid's parents?

Tried. Can't find 'em. I only have his cell, and can't find a phone number to associate with his folks.

I thought I could look up the name associated with his cellphone (presumably his parents), and then white page that name to get their cell or home phone. Alas, no such luck. I can't even get a definitive answer on what name the cell is registered under using various white pages.
780  Bitcoin / Mining / In a dual graphics configuration, which graphics card hates life more?Top or Bot on: July 13, 2011, 06:16:29 PM
Hey y'all,

Conceptual question. I have a two ATI cards. Which card will hate life more (i.e. be hotter), the card on top or the card on bottom?

I thought it would be the card on the bottom since it is closer to the bottom of the case and the top card has all the air above it, but I'm starting to think that's not true based on temps in my machine.

Will the top card end up hotter than the bottom? Or vice versa?

And if so, why?
