0% (BTCMine) fees vs 3% (deepbit) fees, hmm lemme think about that...

600W is plenty. I have an it-2500k along with a 5870 and a 5850 running off of that exact power supply right now. And surely they consume more power than the 5830's (correct me if I'm wrong).
Use this antec power calculator for an accurate estimate of your power needs.

Do you mind uploading this spreadsheet to googledocs or something similar? I'd love to use it and plug in my own numbers

Shutting a pool down would keep difficulty low longer, there is an incentive.
And what's to keep the individual miners in that pool from simply switching to another pool. Or mining for themselves? The hashes/sec are still going to be present for the most part
No, it doesn't work that way. The difficulty does not adjust in real time.
I guess if you could DDOS ALL the other pools for long enough that the difficulty decreases, that would help?
But then the individual miners who make up the pool would simply switch to other pools or to mining for themselves, so the difficulty would still not change significantly

Haven't seen the monsters from the portal to the other dimension yet. That's good. Interesting that our hash rate continues to go up even though registration is closed to new users. I guess people aren't concerned about the increasing stale share rate. Way to go eleuthria! Your pool has grown by leaps and bounds, largely because of your awesome coding, but even moreso because of your responsiveness to all of us. Thank you!

I think I remember eleuthria saying before that 250 Ghash/sec would give us problems.
We're at 231.7 right now. O.o
What's gonna happen I wonder?

I'm experiencing this problem as well with the GUIMiner whenever I have more than 1 card on a system. Windows 7 64 bit in both cases.
Rig 1: Two 5870's - each miner instance takes up a CPU core. So if I try to set 2 miners on each GPU (one for a backup in case my main pool goes down) and have 4 total miners, I use up all 4 cores on my i5-2500k.
Rig 2: Same deal, but with 1 5870 and 1 5850.
Seems like it's a problem with the number of miners you have rather than the number of GPUs. I'm sure if I had a hexacore system and tried to make 6 total miners, I'd experience the same problem even though only 2 miners are actually "working"
Yeah, that's about 1%. That's pretty normal for me.
hmm I cannot seem to push it past 351 Mhash/s. I am using the Catalyst Control Center on Windows, any ideas why I cannot push this to 400?
Are you overclocked? If not, download MSI Afterburner to do so

edit: {nevermind! }

Hey,
Are any of y'all getting a disproportionate amount of stale shares? I only got 1 stale shared out of like a thousand at Slush's, but I seem to be getting one every 50-75 shares here. :?
Didn't seem to change when I switched from a 5770 to a 5870 either. :/
Am I the only one experiencing this?
Update: eleuthria is right, after the hardware reset, this problem is fixed. I'm hovering between .5% and 1% now, much more normal.

My XFX 5850 is doing about 280 Mh/sec and is actually sitting at 55 degrees celcius. O.o
I overclocked it using MSI Afterburner as far as it would let me move the slider to the right. Weird that y'all are experiencing such higher temperatures.

404 NOt found error?
Even big pools like Slush's pool still experience variance. BTCGuild has grown rapidly to > 125 Ghash/sec and it still experiences rounds ranging from 11 seconds to 12 hours.
Why would a 7.5 Ghash/sec user not benefit from reducing his variance like the rest of us? He'll still experience a fair amount of variance?
Question - why does common concensus seem to be that he should go and mine solo wiht 7.5 Ghash/sec?
It's not like his volatility doesn't lessen a ton like most of the rest of us, and a even a 2% fee (there are several with lesser fees) isn't a huge cut. Why wouldn't he want to mine in a pool?

Has anyone found a solution for the whole each miner using a CPU core thing? Right now, I've got 2 GPUs with 2 miners each (4 total miners, 2 that I'm actually using and 2 backup in case the others fail) and it's using the entirety of my i5-2500k. The thread linked to in the FAQ is just more people saying "hey I have this too." without any solutions. Also, Kiv - 1.5 bitcoins sent your way. This is a wonderful interface; you've made things so user friendly.

Up for sale is a water cooling block for the ATI Radeon 5870 video card. This will allow you to run your card even cooler (even with an aggressive overclock) than stock, leading to a less hot room/computer. And best of all, it will be quieter than all other 5870s, so if your computer fans are annoying you, this is one great way to reduce system noise! This item regularly retails for $100 ( http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=1022), so you'll be saving $35. Note, this item is used, since I used it on my 5870. Also, this is *not* a complete water cooling system that will work by itself. I just want to avoid any misunderstandings. PM if interested. P.S. I have two if you want to get two of them for your dual 5870 setup. If you get both, then feel free to knock off 1 bitcoin from the total price (or $6).
