41  Economy / Speculation / Re: More individuals like Elon musk, the price might fall further. on: May 17, 2021, 09:14:35 PM
If he was influencing the price on stocks on FTSE or NASDAQ are there not regulations that would land him in trouble?

Maybe having some regulations on crypto exchanges to stop this kind of pump & dump behaviour would not be a bad thing.

Warning

From what I understand from the Telegram API you can only list users in a channel if you are the channel admin or you have a bot in the channel with the correct permissions.

I would not trust this.

Hi,

I am currently looking to do some freelance work on the side to make a little extra cash to save up to buy a house. I have been involved in many projects before on XBTFreelancer but the site does not seem to be available now?

I am very proficient in Python, PHP, C# and AutoIT, I have a wealth of Cybersecurity, Network Security and Infrastructure / DevOps, SecOps experience on Windows and Linux. I am familiar with MVC architecture using Flask, Laravel, Symphony and Slim.

I have made web applications for customers from small shop sales points, Full-fledged websites that accept multiple cryptocurrencies, infrastructure and security scripting and CTF / Bug Bounty hunting. I have also made bots for many uses, included popular MMOs, Cryptocurrency Trading and Windows automation. I have also helped many customers set up Mining Pools using MPOS / NOMP and have been around the Bitcoin community since 2010, although mostly lurking.

I am looking for any development or infrastructure/security work freelance. I hold down a full-time job as an IT Security Analyst so I have about 3 hours every night and 8 or so hours every weekend.

48  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Signal Subscription Management & Advertising Platform, Market Research on: November 13, 2019, 11:15:23 PM
I like your idea. It will solve some of the problems currently experienced by users/traders utilizing these services. I'm a Cornix Bot user so I understand about the problem you're trying to solve. And I agree with you, A central platform where one can see these signal groups and their statistics would help users to figure out which groups/services are best suited for them. Right now, It's difficult for someone who just joined the space newly and wants to know which is best.

One issue you might have is that some of these signal groups and providers aren't too transparent especially with stuffs like statistics ~ profitability. If you can pull this off, I'm sure it'll a win win situation for all parties involved. I hope other btt members can be in favor of this. I was thinking of creating something similar in the future but you've beaten me to it.

Hi,

I really appreciate the reply. I have asked some group owners who I am premium members with, no real replies about it yet.

I was thinking the same about the profitability, maybe it is something that does not want to be shown always, so maybe an optional feature group owners can have. Obviously those who do have a good profitability and show it will get more users sign up.

With regards to the education side, I agree, I joined back in April and I am still learning a lot of the glossary, terms and techniques of trading. Eventually something like this could even interact with exchanged to make the trades. but this would not be on the priority list at the moment.

I apologise if I stole your idea, you are more than welcome to help if you know MVC, PHP, Laravel.
49  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading Signal Subscription Management & Advertising Platform, Market Research on: November 13, 2019, 07:43:58 AM
Hi Everyone,

I now have quite a bit of free time and me and I am looking a creating a project to help Trading Signal group owners and members. I am a professional web developer and partake in many Signal groups, Premium groups and Scalping groups including groups that use Cornix automatic trading on telegram. The app has been developed partially over the past few months

I am wanting to know if people will use this web based app for management, after all, I do not want to spend weeks / months creating and maintaining and application if no-one wants to use it. I would really appreciate any feedback and if there is anything that you think I could be missing.

The Idea

The application will allow current signal groups to advertise their service in a central location, It will manage users who want to subscribe to your service and automatically invite / kick to and from premium channels based on their subscription time. It will also allow users to receive alerts (Via Telegram, Discord, Email) when their subscription is about to end, Fully customizable by you. The application will also have features such as statistics and profitability tracking (if enabled) and your own group custom forum and news which will alert users. user will be able to browse through a list of signal providers, organise by profitability, activeness and user votes (subscribed users to cancel out spam), this will allow your group to get more exposure to the current user base and a clear comparison with other groups.

Feature List

This is a current list from what I can think of now, I will no doubt add much more during development.

  • Subscription Management - Invite/Kick Members to groups depending on whether they have paid their sub fee, remind them with 7/3/1 Day to go etc [note 1]
  • Custom Subscription Packages - Monthly, Yearly, Lifetime, Multiple Groups etc
  • Multiple cryptocurrencies accepted - Option to convert to a single currency for group owners [note 1]
  • Education center (This can help a lot of new people get on board, links to useful resources for trading)
  • Telegram and Discord Bot Channel Management to automatically invite and kick users from subscription based services
  • Cornix Trading Bot integration
  • Statistics - Profitability, User voting, group activity, graphs and live price updates on recent signals
  • Advertising of your group services, multiple groups per service providers - i.e. If you have 3 separate premium channels - appeal your product more = more users -> more subs
  • Private group chat and forum
  • Group news which gets sent to users via Telegram, Discord or Email - site wide news and updates for all member / premium members
  • Integrations with third party sites and exchanges - Trading View, binance, bitmex

[note 1] This is not decided, I am actually thinking that you could provide a multisig key, the website will be automatic but would need your key(s) to withdraw (for your security)

What is in it for me

Well apart from providing a service and creating an application I would love to use myself as I sign up to 5 different premium groups a month. I would take 1% from each subscription payment. So 1$ from every 100$. This is purely to keep the server running, I do not expect that there will be any profit from this at all.

Please let me know what you think, if you would use the service as a user who wants to browse different groups or if you are a group owner looking to streamline and maximise your user base.

nice project, Push notifications is a good idea though. possibly sign up using username/pass so no email needed and user can then insert api key from some service such as https://pushover.net/ or https://www.pushbullet.com/.

Last night we successfully transitioned to the new emissions structure, so now you will see that mining rewards have increased to 35 coins per block, whilst masternode rewards have dropped slightly to 15 coins per block.

There are still a few masternode holders who have not updated to v2.0 and therefore will see no rewards going forwards until they do.

The transition was as smoothe as it could have been and our small part-time development team have done a great job to implement this.

Yes, This went very smooth indeed. GJ!

I am looking forward to 35 coins per block Cheesy

RUN AWAY FROM MINING RIGHT NOW.
If not, then get rekt.

Why? I am not really all that bothered about making pure profit. I like to mine coins and hodl, something that could potentially make profit in the future.

Mining is what keeps PoW networks secure.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining gear recommendations on: October 18, 2018, 01:38:00 PM
Hi,

I have been out of mining for about 4 years now, I really want to get back into it and have a little bit of a budget ($750), I used to run 4 x AMD Radeon HD 6950, I loved it but when asics started taking over scrypt I stopped.

So I am wondering if its better to go GFX card route or ASIC? I am not looking for pure profit but also variety and what will give me a broader mining field.

If I go GFX what would you suggest based on value -> profit?, ASIC, would you suggest any? I am looking more at the altcoin scene.

Thank you for any help!

If you have free power, you will probably ROI quicker buying used ASICs on Ebay (s9, l3+, etc).  If you dont, avoid.

If you have decided on GPUs, I'd strongly encourage NVidia over AMD.  What shield132 said above is correct: just more efficient and versatile than AMD cards, and I wouldnt count on mining Ethash for much longer.  Besides, AMD cards are always ... in my experience... a lot of tinkering time.  I have 3 AMD rigs, and 3 Nvidia rigs.  The Nvidia rigs I basically never have to mess with except to do routine maintenence (cleaning dust, etc).  The AMD rigs though, I have to reinstall something on them every few weeks.  If anything ever breaks, it's on an AMD rig.  Mainly I dont mind that because tinkering with the rigs is something I actually enjoy doing...but just know what you are getting into.

Thanks,

Yeah I had an AMD rig before and was the same + the SDK opencl pack. At the time Nvidia were not even near what AMD could do for mining but now it looks to have switched a bit.

I think I am going to get 3 x 1070's, I have the other bits although DDR3 ram set and not DDR4 but im not sure that will make a difference on the mining side or if the 1070's need it. I have some metal GPU frame also which I would like to utilise. Then I may go for another 1070 and have 4 in the rig.

My main fun when mining is finding a new coin, speculative mining Smiley
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining gear recommendations on: October 18, 2018, 11:54:16 AM
I wouldn't buy asics at the moment because there is a chance that some coins will become asic resistant again.
My vote for GPU in anyway, at least you can sell them at the end or use them for gaming, let's start:
1. I suggest you to buy Nvidia GPUs because they consume less energy and you can use them more widely than AMD cards, I wouldn't prioritize ethereum mining by buying rx 580.
2. If you want to buy GPUs in possibly cheap prices, check this website -> nowinstock.net
3. To help you in building of mining rigs and have a thoughtd about which pc parts like motherboards, rams and etc are good for your rig, visit this website -> 1stminingrig.com
4. To check what's currently the most profitable to mine with your GPU, overcloacked hashrates and electricity prices, check -> whattomine.com
Hope I helped you
Best regards
shield132

Thank You all, Really appreciated.

The links above will be very useful and yeah the mining is more of a versatile thing than putting all my hash in one steady crypto.

NVidia are cheaper on ebay since the 2080 came out. I will mess around and see what I get best results from card wise.

60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining gear recommendations on: October 18, 2018, 02:08:34 AM
Thanks for the replies.

I do actually like the look of the AMD 580 8gb.

https://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-msi-radeon-rx-580-armor-oc-14nm-polaris-2304-streams-1366mhz-boost-8000mhz-gddr5-dp-hdmi-dvi-d

I could actually get 3 of them on my budget and it would allow me to select coins, I like to mine new coins and hold.

Thanks for your help.
