I've notices this coin in November when it had shown significant value increase. However, I still see no advantages of this coin over other available on exchanges.
well, in that I can not trace how much you have in the wallet, it takes all the advantages of the cryptonight algorithm, it is impossible to trace transactions and etc. OUT THAT IS ASICS RESISTANT.

Not really anymore.

ASIC for cryptonight algo is in store: Baikal Giant-N

Price at 3600 usd/pc

And who told you to sell this coin and any other coin on January 09, 2018, 03:42:31 PM?

Price on January 09, 2018 was 1.74 USD.

Today Karbo is trading for 0.66 USD.

Thats a great way to decentralize the network much better. Oh.  Shocked Yes, its not. Ooops.

But anyway: The whole crypto story does not make any sense if you cannot find a fool who pays you more than you did for something you cannot really use or that will be likely soon illegal to use - if you ask me.

Do you really think that the secret services on this world will tolerate an anonymously method of payment?

Not even I am so naive to believe that. Any information is traceable. The FBI and FSB are observing cryptocurrency transactions with high priority. You cannot even imagine what they already know today. And please, do not try to be smarter than these organisations. This will probably fail. But its your decision.

If you would say "and as a nonbiased financial expert I would recommend ANYBODY who owns any kind of cryptocurrency to SELL immediately and buy KARBO"
this would be understandable

But otherwise it looks like a joke.
This is wrong forum to promote abandoning cryprocurrencies))

As a nonbiased financial expert, what do you do apart from reading mainstream media and about tulip mania?
So you have Karbo, you mined it with your computer, you are happy to make few bucks, stay here, write more posts and you'll be able to promote "Selling cryptocurrency" idea some more years))

Hello my friend of the raspberry pie Wink

I know that you are very keen of getting rich as anybody else here but I would kindly ask you to check your way of thinking.

If I would say "and as a nonbiased financial expert I would recommend ANYBODY who owns any kind of cryptocurrency to SELL immediately and buy KARBO" this would be only understandable to someone who has a big stake in KARBO and in no other cryptocurrency but even then the statement would be wrong because I would NOT be a nonbiased financial expert but a KARBO-biased financial expert in this case. Issnt it?

So - my statement is right but i have to admit that any Karboholder - myself included - is not happy with this statement. But nevertheless I have to think it if I mentally take the stance of a nonbiased observer.

Nothing against Karbo and Bitcoin, but a bubble is a bubble is a bubble.

And there is simply no other reason to buy Bitcoin and Co. except to use this units as a vehicle of speculation. Or is there any other use? Karbo is no legal tender. And how it is legal to "pay" with Karbo even I only can guess. Is it a simple swap of goods? Karbo is an asset and no currency. Its an asset valued in different national kinds of legal tender. But it will never be an established currency. The amount of payment units is not manageable. Thats the problem.

Its fascinating to mine and trade Karbo and other cryptocurrency as it was once fascinating to collect and trade post stamps. Because you could get rich with it. There was a boom also with post stamps in former times. And today? You still can collect and trade post stamps but a new observer of this hobby only will state "great, I will do it, too." or "why are you collecting and trading these pieces of paper? You cannot send any letter with it anymore." They will be collected and traded because some people do it but there is no real use for it anymore. And the same could be due with cryptocurrencies. There is no use as a currency. Not yet.  But there is a market. But the boom could be already over.

And if you step back a little bit there are only some not doublespendable units you can trade very fast and always. But you are trading only some units with no use than the trading itself. I also do not collect post stamps. I do not collect some printed pieces of paper with no other use than speculating with it. The good or service I am willing to pay for should have a practical use. Anything else is just pure speculation. And history shows that any speculation will end in a nightmare for late investors and even for early investors if they missed the exit.

And why buying Karbo if you would simultanously recommend to sell any other cryptocurrency? That does not make any sense.

Or could you name any unique advantage of Karbo which any other cryptocurrency can NOT provide?

Only if you hold Karbo and want to get a high price (of legal tender) for it. And why? Because you cannot do much with Karbo. In the end you want to have US-Dollar or Euro or Ruble or Hrywnja or whatever. And why? Because you can buy almost everything with it. And with Karbo only very very limited. Not worth to talk about.

Karbo will be only a part of the evolution of cryptocurrencies and I would not eliminate the possebility that it could also become extinct or almost worthless. You should take it into account.

Karbo is a small and fine asset with a responsible and fast reacting leading developer.

I personally do not see much difference between Karbo and Bitcoin. Karbo is much more cheaper than Bitcoin - thats an advantage. Its biggest advantage is its limitation, its price transparency (24/7 trading - you always know what your asset is worth and you even can sell or buy at weekend) but why I should buy Karbo if I also could buy the car with Hrywnja? Maybe because you do not have to pay taxes for a Karbo-deal? But if this should be the case an official ban is only a question of time and with a ban the price of your Karbos (or any other cryptocurrency if you want - so I do not want to bash Karbo - Karbo only is the representative of any other cryptocurrency) could be soon be worthless, issnt it?

At least any cryptocurrency is an option for future developements in cryptocurrency sector. And the good or bad developement will judge over its value.

I am still a fan of cryptocurrencies but I am also sceptical. Its weird, issnt it?

No, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon Has Not Changed His Stance on Bitcoin

“You’re wasting your time [with Bitcoin],” Dimon said then. “There will be no currency that gets around government controls.”

fortune.com/2018/01/09/jpmorgan-jamie-dimon-regrets-calling-bitcoin-fraud/

Literally he says: "When the DOJ (Department of Justice) ... [cannot understand it correctly but would translate it simply with "says"] ... thats an illegal currency, its against the law ...[...] we do put you in jail, its over. Its no issue. There will be no real non controlled currency in the world. There is no government that ll put it up for long. [...] The technology will be used. And maybe used to transport currency. But it will be US-Dollars. [Virtual currencies like bitcoin will be stopped]"

I ve to admit this sounds realistic.

A non controlled currency can not serve the needs of an oeconomy. Thats a fact as I can judge it. And with controlled its only menat one thing: the amount of circulating currency-units. So the blockchain is not far away from replacing a well established currency. The missing link is the management of circulating units. And thats not the case with any cryptocurrency. The currency which can do that will be a real threat for USD, EUR, YEN and Co. But anything else is just a prelude of a real usable blockchain cryptocurrency.

So a cryptocurrency with limited supply is only an asset and could be useful if USD, EUR, JPY or RUB should inflate exponentially so that consumer prices are rising without control and in a strong pace. In this case i would prefer something as a pseudocurrency or asset which is limited.

So - if you ask me - I should get a bounty for my thoughts or at least the Nobel prize. I named you the concept of the future cryptocurrency. A short white paper.

in short: if you can initialize a cryptocurrency whose supply of cryptounits can be managed resp. controlled - you have invented a currency that can blow away any currency on this world.

I must be a genius.

Regards

ps: of course such a currency should be of coure not anonymous or pseudonymous (I do not know why Karbo wants untracable transactions. This will never be allowed by governments) because a government wants to have a taxable currency. maybe it must not even be anonymous if the tax will be automatically tranfered to tax authorities by transaction fee? And if you initialize a currency without a tax the government has a problem to finance its household. Theoretically no institution can forbid a decentralized blockchain currency except the government has control about power supply. Will be the case in future in theory if you ask me. But is power supply is decentralized too it could work. That would be a big threat to any government. But technically realizable. But the money supply musst be manageable by committee or by algorithm. And it should have a lending component or any enterprise must be financed by crowdfunding. maybe loans aren not necessary. I am not a friend of loans.

Maybe the devs of the karbo can implement any kind of karbosupply control ex post?

the number of tokens will not increase?

it will, 1% on a yearly basis after 10 million units have been mined.

but its too insignificant to consider Karbo as an active managed currency. its more a technically necessary requirement to keep running the mining activities.

maybe Karbo should be promoted better as a limited and easy to transfer asset than a currency to pay with.

to pay with Karbo the prices of a UAH-priced oeconomy or a worldwide UAH-YEN-USD-EUR-RMB-priced oeconomy does not make any sense, at least not to me.

An article you must read:

source: c n b c . com/2018/01/09/bitcoin-fascinating-because-of-risk-taking-fund-manager-says.html

Quote
"Ultimately, they have an intrinsic value of zero, and people are willing to change their careers, they're willing to speculate… If you go out to a group of people now where there are more than two or three people present, bitcoin comes up and they ask all of us what's happening with bitcoin or some other cryptocurrency."

I never bought any cryptocurrency and as a nonbiased financial expert I would recommend ANYBODY who owns any kind of cryptocurrency to SELL immediately.

The bitcoin bubble is bursting right now and every single cryptocurrency will soon be WORTHLESS because its intrinsic value = 0.

Without an exchange and a link to a REAL currency which is legal tender the purpose of any cryptocurrency is nonexistent, except the purpose to speculate with it. Nobody is seriously using a predefined quantity of units to pay with it. Neither the buyer of goods and services nor the seller of goods and services because of high price fluctuations respectively volatility.

You can model the real world into 2 scenarios.

First, if the prices tend to rise in value, the buyer of goods and services will not spend these units to pay with it. Otherwise he would not act rationally because something that is rising in value you do not sell and therefore you keep holding it. The seller of good and servies would like to accept. He would get a unit that is tomorrow more worth than today. So he can buy more goods and services with it. Perfect. But if only ONE party is not willing to deal then the deal will not happen. And under this circumstances the deal does NOT happen because the buyer will hold these units that should originally act as a currency.

And second, if prices tend to plump the buyer of goods and services has a strong incentive to pay with these units. Anybody would like to pay with something that is tending to have no value or less value. It would be always a good trade if the good or service you get for your worthless currency is worth more than nothing or is keeping its value compared to yesterday where the price for the good and service was the same but the value of the currency was higher if the value of pseudocurrencyunits is plumping. Otherwise he would not act rationally or just sell the units, too and the prices will decrease faster. But the seller of goods and services NOW will NOT accept these units (with crypto or without crypto) because is not selling real value for a currency that is becoming more and more less valuable. So therefore NO deal will materialize becaues the seller of goods and services will deny the deal. So the currencies originally purpose also in this second scenario does NOT come into play.

So the intrinsic purpuse of the so called (crypto or whatever) currency is NON-EXISTENT because under the condition of highly fluctuating prices as it is the case of any cryptocurrency due to its predefined quantity this currency will not be used. NEITHER from the one who wants to spend the currency to buy goods and services NOR from the one who is accepting the currency to sell goods or services depending on the scenario of rising or falling prices of cryptocurrency or any other so called currency or lets better name it "trading units".

Without the many exchanges for bitcoin and co. the bitcoin would be nonexistent in the news because it would have NO effect. No effect in the world of trading (of goods and services). The only trading that is happening is the trading with the currency itself and therefore any cryptocurrency has no social function.

The only reason why Bitcoin and co. are in the news is the fact that some trader who mined or bought these units for cheap could theoretically sell for high prices and therefore could make a huge profit. And because anybody on this world wants to immitate this, more and more people are joining the mania. 100,000 people daily open an account only at the exchange Coinbase, not to name the many other crypto exchanges. So yes, this is somehow a Ponzi sheme. Wenn no one or even only significant LESS people are willing to open a trading account (as a proxy for their real trading activities) then the prices will slump.

And because there is NO intrinsic value unlike to gold, the prices of bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency will slump to almost 0.

q.e.d.

You can bet on this. I am an expert in studying these processes. And do NOT to try to be smarter than history of events. You will fail.

But you can do whatever you want, if you do not want to listen to me, feel free to throw your hard earned money down the drain.

But do not cry afterwards if you lost all your money.

I just want to prevent you from losses.

Really - nothing against Bitcoin or Karbo but there more I think about this whole cryptocurrency thing the more I am getting desillusionated. Really.

They have heavy disadvantages and their errors are inherent to their system.

Either you try to improve the coin or it will fail. Thats my thesis.

Somebody told me this: "The finest win is knowledge."

And thats why I do not want to hold back with my knowledge. Its YOUR profit.

If you have a contrary opinion you can try to convince me. I am reading your response.

Happy trading !

I have Karbo, yes. And thats why I am so worried about its errors.

But you should take your time to read and understand my posts.

This takes usually more time than 5 minutes and educational background.

They do not say only: "I do not like karbo."

If you do interpret my posts this way you have not understood it.

I just tell you that cryptocurrencies are fine, but their have severy failures. and if the failures will not disappear the cryptocurrency itself will disappear.

do you want Karbo to disappear? I doubt it. Me at least do not want to disappear karbo. but the more i think about it the more the karbo becomes one of a beautiful but much much cheaper tulip.

The analogy to the tulip mania is not to miss.

And if you miss it you are a completely fool or very very greedy and therefore too involved not to have an objective view to the matter.

Funny that Karbonator appeared here again)
He desperately needs attention, and basically the latest post looks like copy-pasted from previous posts
But no, it's just another post very similar)
So any luck with getting Karbo? ))

my friend Flodner ... you and the promotion - you both are married? lol

issnt it the same old song you are yelling? promotion promotion promotion - you cold make a youtube video about electronic units that are no legal tender which can be transfered from one person to another person.

but I for me just can tell you I will not sell any single unit of legal tender to buy a digital unit which only advantage is its limited supply and its ability to get transfered only once from one person to another person, regardless what the name of this unit is. thats a fact. I mined very little Karbos - just out of curiosity. The Plus with Karbo is, you can easiely mine via the wallet with almost no knowlegde about cryptomining. So it is quite comfortable for me to mine some Karbos.

But I am with Damie Dimon - i cannot see any value in this kind of cryptothing. The only thing I am keen on are the huge profits which were made by mining and holding or buying these units. but do not ask me why I should buy it. really, i mean honestly - its a quite interesting technique which was challenging to learn but I only did it because of the wondrously hike of bitcoin prices and all the other so called "coins".

but if you leave the limited supply, this system is at the most a system to transfer (very volatile) value and is depending on paid prices. its not very reliable. its cost-intensive now due to high cost of transmission. its prone to hackers if you leave your digital units on an exchange. it has the risk to forget the passport or the file where you have put the units. not to mention if you are dying and did not leave a passport so someone else - so its not inheritable. its prone to government bans. its very unhandy for usual people. as a currency it makes no sense because of the fixed supply of digital units.

all in all - yes, the rise of prices are respectable if you ask me but if you leave the greed for more profits aside I would have no real reason to buy Karbo or whatever the coin is named like. its just a pure speculation to find another buyer to sell this units who thinks in turn buys the units for the same reason.

so yes - the tulip mania is the best approach to describe this bitcoin phenomenon.

and now the bubble is obviously bursting. I have worked too hard for my money to use it for speculation. I rather would buy a stock or gold. that at least makes sense. blockchain or tangle or other techniques could one day be used to transfer LEGAL TENDER - yes - but hell - not some wild mined digital units by private persons. of course you cannot prohibit speculation (except chinese government) so you let people speculate UNTIL they found out that the king is wearing no clothes.

I for myself let the hedge funds or whoever is buying bitcoin & co buy this things and Damie Dimon is right ... I should not care who bitcoin and co trades, why it trades and how you can trade it. I am not stupid enough to trade it and pay the price of this speculation one day.

Damie Dimon is right. here the link to the interview again. its so remarkable thats why I am posting it again. hope you do not find it annoying.

youtu.be/40OuVyVGdIM

if a coin should have success its supply MUST be bound to economic variables. it must be flexible and not fixed before the mining of the coin. you should do with it what you can usually do with common legal tender ... paying taxes and taking out a loan.

if a cryptocurrency cannot do that it will fail. the real value is ZERO.

you can buy Karbo as much as you want. I dont care.

I have seen so many bubbles and this bitcoin price chart is definitively a bubble which is right now bursting.

if people have been crazy enough to buy rare tulips for the price of a house why not a digital asset with limited supply? people are dumb. you have to accept that. and you cannot save them for making mistakes in most cases. bitcoin should be outlawed like Stiglitz told it here:

youtu.be/fy16eIEux7U

he is right - bitcoin and co. does not serve any social useful function. thats a little bit bitter for one or another of you but it seems to be the truth.

so - I wish you fun while speculating with Karbo and I hope you will find news buyers who are willing to pay more than you did while mining or buying Karbo.

after mania comes the law of gravity into play Wink what goes up must come down. and it will come down - just a matter of time.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / bitcoin is crashing on: December 24, 2017, 04:03:49 AM
the more the coin of all coins is decreasing in value the more the phrase "tulip bubble" comes into my mind and the more I am remembering to the great interview with Jamie Dimon. tulips ... its all about tulips.

 Grin Grin Grin

making a currency out of a blockchain was a crackpot idea ... there are better suited areas for that application. trust me. I should know what makes a currency a currency and every existing coin is not a currency. so "cryptocurrency" is definitively the wrong label. its more a cryptocommodity with no practical use. the only advantage is its rarity and only if you consider one special coin. but if you can make thousands of coins where is the rarity then?

this post here is also rare - its unique. (if nobody is copying it) but does it have a value because its unique?  Cry no. it has a value but not because its unique but because of its content.

the bitcoin and the years 2011, 2013 and 2017 ... epic. but I have the feeling that all coins will be worthless soon. except the ripple or any other coin with practical use could have a value. something that is not only rare but usable. which is not even created until now. to transfer 1 coin or fractions of it to another person can be made faster and easier than with gold. ok - accepted. gold is unique in its atomic structure but the uniqueness of bitcoin and ether and karbo is just its name and protocol and some properties. its not completely worthless - thats not the case but I would have doubts to pay 15,000 dollar for a digital unit.

a tulip has also a price but its not worth anymore the value of a house like in 1637. these times are over and i suspect the times of the so called cryptocurrencies are over, too.

the more the bitcoin is crashing in value the more the word "bubble" comes into my mind. the bitcoin was a phenomenon and a consequence of the cheap money all around and will certainly disappear if interest rates will rise again. even jamie dimon told in his legendary interview that 20.000 usd could be in store and yes, maybe that was the climax in price.

and interest rates are rising again. thats not good for any asset class and least of all for assets not backed with an annuity as bonds and stocks can offer.

the money system as we have it today is bulletproof.

I would prefer owning usd, eur, jpy, rmby, uah, rub or any other currency of a reliable economic zone or even gold itself - its more accepted that bitcoin or any other cryptocoin.

the tulip bubble was also crazy. the internet bubble was crazy, too.

the behaviour of humans obviously has not changed and maybe will never change in future. so more bubbles should be expected.

the transactions of bitcoin take too much time I ve read, same was true in 1929. the ticker of the stock quotes was rattling still hours after the close of the trading. today you can trade 24/7 but in panic you wount accept any price and only sell sell sell ... and afterwards the goverment will make rules as it did in 1929.

i am sure a government ban will only be a matter of time. this will not end good and many people will lose everything they owned. like in 1637, 1929, 2000 and 2008/09.

i would sell until its possible and not use any money i am reliant on ... me personally i am reliant on any penny.

cme and cboe already launched bitcoin futures. nasdaq will join in Q1 2018. I assume in 2025 there will be no future anymore in bitcoin due to lack of liquidity.

the bitcoin ... such a crazy idea. but if you want to get rich you will accept any story. could be a mistake if you ask me. i know you did not ask me  Wink i am telling this you for free.

or maybe 2 times DUAL E5-2660V2 CPU on 1 mainboard = 20 cores. Could the Karbo Wallet 1.1.9 be able to recognize 20 cores and let them work?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with more than 4 CPU cores possible? on: December 08, 2017, 01:09:20 PM
Is it possible to mine with more than 4 CPU cores via Karbo Wallet 1.1.9 ?

Because there is only the choice between 1, 2, 3 or 4 Cores.

Thank you for answers.

Could anyone of you experts give me a hint how to mine with more than 4 Cores?
How many cores does your CPU have?

Actually 2 cores but I am considering the purchase of a workstaton with DUAL E5-2660V2 CPU = 10 Cores or a PC with AMD Ryzen 7 1700X = 8 Cores.

I am not sure about the fact the Karbo Wallet Version 1.1.9 can handle with 8 or 10 cores or does it only recognize up to 4 cores as this is now my impression?

I dont want to be distrustful but if Karbo team patched its coin BEFORE the disclosure it could have theoretically been able to exploit this insider knowledge, issnt it? Or did the Karbo team detected the bug, patched the bug with its own coin and reported the bug instantly to the Bytecoin-team?

...

Bold font is not a proof.
Monero team twitted disclosure about the bug 3:28 AM - 18 May 2017
https://getmonero.org/2017/05/17/disclosure-of-a-major-bug-in-cryptonote-based-currencies.html

And KRB team twited about bug fix tw hours later: 5:39 AM - 18 May 2017
https://twitter.com/krbcoin/status/865185084403580929

So your statement is a lie.

First. It was no statement but an assumption within a question.

And Second. In my statement (see post #1270) I was quoting "aiwe" (see post #1261) in which he corrected the statement of "Andretti83" (see post #1258) with the words: "In fact Karbo was patched BEFORE the disclosure [of Bytecoin, own note]" because "Andretti83" in turn was answering on my question from post #1257 in his post #1258 with:

Karbowanec was derived from Bytecoin, issnt it?
Yes, it was. But unlike Bytecoin it was patched immediately after bug disclosure.
https://twitter.com/krbcoin/status/865185084403580929

So, if the statement "Karbo was patched BEFORE the disclosure" should not be true, what I am doubting because "aiwe" belongs to the dev-team and I believe him for reasons I do not know, I for one did not state this.

And KRB team twittered 2 hours and 11 minutes later than Monero team at 18 May 2017, 5:39 AM that "#karbowanec is patched and safe". They did not inform about the fact WHEN it was patched.

I was solely wondering why a bug should have been patched before a disclosure. At first glance it sounds a little bit absurd. Thats why I asked in my post #1270:

I was originally referring to this news from 28/05/2017: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/cryptonote-currency-bug-allowed-creation-unlimited-number-coins/ in which was statet:

Quote
After a complete network update, Monero’s team notified all affected CryptoNote-based cryptocurrencies that they had until mid-May to patch the vulnerability. These include Boolberry, Bytecoin, DigitalNote, and DashCoin. (note that DashCoin and Dash are different currencies).

At the time of the initial disclosure, Monero, Aeon, Forknote and Boolberry had already patched the bug. DashCoin, DigitalNote and Bytecoin had not, although now that the vulnerability was made public the developers of these currencies have reportedly fixed the problem.

In any case I did not want to accuse KRB-team to exploit a bug. On the one hand I was surprised that such a heavy weighting bug could be possible and on the other hand I was surprised that the bug was already fixed by the teams of the Bytecoin forked coins like Monero, Karbowanec etc. see

while in contrast to them the team of Bytecoin which is the parent coin of several coins was not able to fix the bug instantly.
