41  Economy / Goods / Re: Star Wars paintings on: February 16, 2018, 10:59:22 PM
My favorite film.
Very good pictures!

Thanks!

PS: These are hand made, not posters.
They are printed in bulk, no?
42  Other / Meta / Re: Spam from obirum airdrop | 374 accounts to consider nuking. Mods: Nuke'm? on: February 13, 2018, 07:05:46 PM
Can we just make LoyceV a moderator? He's obviously very active in dealing with spam and has found 800 before and now found 374 users to get nuked all in one day.

It's counter productive to have him just listing this in Meta when he could be dealing with them directly.

I agree... Nuke those Pajeets!!!
Good job OP. I'm not sure where you found the time to do this. :O
43  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ethereum on: February 13, 2018, 07:02:29 PM

What is actually ethereum???
and I'm wondering it is smart to invest in it???
I wouldn't consider my ethereum an "investment" per say. I see it more so as an investment in a project, believe that it has potential.
Definitely, read their whitepaper before making any decisions.
44  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] The first 3 .999 Silver Garlic Bread Loaves! on: February 09, 2018, 05:11:39 AM
Am I the only one who has never seen a garlic bread meme until now? I didn't know it was a thing until Garlicoin.

I've been active on multiple social medias for nearly a decade - what did I miss out on?
45  Economy / Lending / Re: Question about fees - Lending on: February 09, 2018, 04:45:59 AM
Hi all.

Say I want to provide micro lendings, how exactly does it work with the fees?
In electrum I can choose how much fee I want to pay, but if I put it on low it will take a lot before it confirms, if it ever confirms.
When i put the default fees it can be like half of the borrowed amount.

Who pays the fees in general and how can it be worth it to take/give a micro loan if the fees are so high ?

My transactions with $0.1 fees are confirming pretty quickly.

If the blockchain does become congested again, I'd recommend perhaps conduct your microlending through a website - like nitrogensports or primedice/stake.
46  Economy / Lending / Re: $26000 fiat based loan required on: February 09, 2018, 04:42:56 AM
I can fund the whole loan but it cannot be tied to the USD value - I stand to lose money, which is stupid.

Let me know if that's something you want to do.
47  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan of 1 ETH on: February 09, 2018, 04:40:03 AM
I'm curious how you'll return home though  Roll Eyes

If all goes well, with the late afternoon or evening train from Paddington or Waterloo.

Or hitch a ride on the M3.

Be sure to meet up in a safe location. If not, lender might end up parting with more than 1 ETH.
Yes - emphasis on the last point. I've heard of crazy craigslist stories where people meet up for a supposed crypto deal, and one party ends up seeing how much crypto the other party actually has...
Just be safe.
48  Economy / Goods / Re: [DEALS] HOVERBOARD ELECTRIC SCOOTER === ONLY 34€ (Real price 365€) on: February 09, 2018, 04:32:35 AM

Are you really trying to tell us that you can buy these for 8 EUR? These easily cost more than 8 EUR to manufacture. There is no chance that you can possibly sell these at the price you do, including worldwide shipping without taking a heavy loss.

If you're going to try to scam people, at least be realistic, are you completely stupid?

EXPLANATION:

SITE PRICE = 8€
SHIPPING COST = 16€

TOTAL PRICE = 24€

MY PRICE = 34€

MY PROFIT = 10€
LOL are you just selling a hoverboard bag? Either that or this is a scam
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: February 09, 2018, 04:30:06 AM
I have a lot of sMerit points sitting around. I would be happy to contribute some to the posts in which you find worthy. Please PM me when required.

Edit: I should have been more clear. This is a message meant only for the OP. Please do not PM me begging for sMerit.
50  Other / Meta / Re: TYPICAL HIGH QUALITY POST. Given sMerit by a Hero Member TMAN on: January 26, 2018, 04:35:44 PM
This is getting really sad. You do realize you have just turned into a spammer, right? (if you weren't considered one before this)

All I see is complaining. It's a forum. More importantly, it's theymos' forum. If you dislike the system so much, go and make your own forum.

Can I ask you a question? How many member is there in this bitciontalk forum?
Even I am willing to report cheater, how is it done by myself?

And why are you saying the impossible thing and ask people do it? But if dev can change the system, which 100% dev can make it happens.
That is the possible thing I can do.

Another legendary come and say pointless thing?

I am trying asking dev for improve this system. Are you dev?

You fail to see my point. You have done nothing except complain about the state of the community. That in and of itself is pointless.

If you think pollution is a bad thing, what would you do? Post on some forums about how bad it is? Tell all your friends the negative effects of it? Why not go outside, and actually DO something. Pick up some trash. Raise awareness. Help out.
52  Other / Meta / Re: Merit - A definition of, Rich people maintain Rich, POOR people will be POOR on: January 26, 2018, 01:44:52 AM
It was a suggested solution to reducing spam and has been implemented to see how it works out. I didn't see you complaining when the forum was/is completely littered with shitposts. Did that not bother you?

It bothers me either. I agree. However, if dev creates a new system, he should consider the consequence.
I don't like spam post, but I hate unfair and cheating more.

Spam post can be done by anyone.

Unfair only can be done as higher rank abuse lower rank.
And cheating can be done by group of people.

Furthermore, merit may create a trading market for those who have a lot of sMerit sell to who need sMerit.
It creates more issue, don't you see that?
If you can about others cheating the system so much, then do something about it. I implore you to go around with your detective skills: look for cheaters and report them. Roll Eyes

If your posts are of high quality, you should be able to rank up no problem. Unfortunately, I think we are both aware that this might not be the case.

54  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source approval on: January 26, 2018, 01:23:43 AM
I'm pretty sure theymos is looking for your ability to distinguish high-quality posts from the others. This meaning that you can use any post, not just your own, as the 10 examples.

I also don't think that your "Bitcoin Pump" and Signature campaign posts are considered HQ. They are simple long threads. You should know that quantity does not equal quality.

Good luck!
55  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 26, 2018, 01:18:16 AM
Why is bitcointalk doing this? This is getting so complex and making our life more difficult. Where is the petition to change this?!
Simply put, to reduce the amount of shit in the current community.

Edit: I really like the Top-merited recent topics section. Smiley
56  Other / Meta / Re: What is the function of the "Merit" score? on: January 24, 2018, 11:43:32 PM
If everyone has 100 Merit points, then the person presses the + Merit button on someone's post. Is the Merit of that person reduced to 99 or fixed 100?

I think some have not yet realized that there is an extra thread about it. All important questions about "merit" will be answered there.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0
Yes, this thread should be locked and all conversation directed to that official thread.
57  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 24, 2018, 11:08:22 PM
All things considered, this system is pretty cool. It is a hassle to have to go to a separate page to give points to a post - is it possible to implement this within the thread itself?
58  Other / Meta / Re: What is the function of the "Merit" score? on: January 24, 2018, 11:07:03 PM
So how will this work out? Does merit replace the activity and will there be any reductions in merit for spam?
See the link Lutpin posted above: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

Merit will not replace activity, it is another factor that will determine your rank on the forum.
And as theymos said, there is currently no demerit system (answering my own comments above)
59  Other / Meta / Re: What is the function of the "Merit" score? on: January 24, 2018, 11:03:18 PM
Interesting. Curious to see how people can de-rank through demerit points.

All legendary members got 200 sMerit. All Heros got 88 sMerit, dont know the numbers for lower ranks.
(edit: 6 sMerit for full members, 19 sMerit for Senior Members)
I have 186 to start off.

Does this new Merit system affect the ranking system at all or is it just a way to crack down on garbage posts around here?
I don't think anyone knows, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe we are still waiting for an official update from theymos. Update
60  Economy / Lending / Re: Need to borrow ETH on: January 20, 2018, 09:09:28 PM
Thanks Upsilon. All things are good now. This thead can be archived.
You can close it yourself, look at the bottom left of this topic. There should be a "lock topic" link.
