Avast antivirus also gave me a blacklist notification when I tried to get to your site.

Maybe that's what mas7539alt was experiencing aswell.

Not sure why it's blocked tho as most pool sites just have connection info for the miner(s).

Thanks for the hint NotFuzzyWarm.

Maybe post 1 could be updated with something that works then  Wink

for those who are not familiar with linux commands here's what I used to make it work (again)
thanks to Kano's well documented cgminer's github page.

Code:
sudo apt-get install build-essential autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libcurl4-openssl-dev libudev-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev git

cd ~
mkdir mining
cd mining

git clone https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer

cd cgminer

./autogen.sh

CFLAGS="-O2 -Wall -march=native -fcommon" ./configure --disable-libcurl --enable-gekko

make

sudo ./cgminer --widescreen

As I wrote above I did the commands for the Pi that are listed in post 1

installing the curl again shows I have already the latest installed but it still can't find the source or resourse file.

Code:
pi@raspberrypi:/usr/include $ sudo apt-get install -y libcurl4-openssl-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libcurl4-openssl-dev is already the newest version (7.64.0-4+deb10u6).

Hello,

The Pi 3B that uses my 2PAC's was running on Raspbian Stretch.

This device was also my Pi-hole dns server.

As I wanted to update the pi-hole I noticed that the OS was unsupported so I upgraded to Buster.

Since then the cgminer didn't start anymore.

I tried running the commands on post 1 again and everything works until I try the make command.

It always nags about a missing curl altho I installed several versions already.

Any idea on how to get a (recent) working version again? Smiley

5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: September 14, 2021, 06:08:01 AM
no kidding.

I thought the 4 legs are just placement thingies and that the rest power/data went over the 5 mini legs.

those 5 are still intact but I'm not sure if they still touch enough.

can I measure the powerlegs with some other soldering on the back of the board?

I'm from Belgium so I don't know how much shipping would be to your end.

I'll first see if that port still gives power.

Edit: ok, rushing at 8am wasn't smart. I connected the usb wire and plugged in the psu power cable and only got a flash of the orange led.

turn out that the end of the usb cable was touching the metal plate where the fan grill is screwed onto.

good news is that the pc psu is dead but the device still works with a general 12V power supply.

how much amps does it maximum pull so that I can use an adapter that's strong enough until I fixed another pc psu?

Edit 2: the atx psu works again. it seems to be blocked for a while (thermal protection or caps that were not fully unloaded?)

Thursday morning I'm alone here in the office and I'll have another attempt with the connector soldering.

By the way does anyone know what those 4 or 5 big pins are on the top left of the board? seems like that fits mini usb break out boards but I don't know if that is related to that usb port.
6  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: September 13, 2021, 02:40:35 PM
Hello,

today I moved my R606 a bit and suddenly the mini usb connector came of the pcb and it was still attached to the cable.

cheap soldering with on top only connector Wink

I placed it back on the board and soldered 2 of the side legs so that it's stuck again.

But now my R606 isn't detected anymore.

The speed buttons still seems to work as the leds change tho.

I guess the small usb port is the mining port and the big port an additional 5V usb powering port?

Could it be that something shorted while the connector came off and how can I tell what's still working and what not?

7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing the FutureBit Apollo BTC - A Full Node/Mining Platform for the Home! on: May 01, 2021, 03:25:50 PM
respect, Stefan.

at first the price (€475 for pod on bitshopper) looked a bit high for the hashrate compared to for example a second hand Avalon841.

But this is silent unlike the Avalon which needs to be put in a garden cabine and probably uses 1300+W for 12TH.
Yours at 3.5TH/200W would need almost half of the Watt for the same TH speed.
Ok, it will be expensive at nearly €1900 for 4 units but it's still silent Smiley

It's also a bit higher priced (€75) than the Terminus R606 (which I also have and runs around 880GH without issues for months now)
but it's (written to be) 2-2.5x as fast at nearly the same draw (100 vs 125W)
and 4 times faster at twice the Watt draw (100 vs 200W) in Turbo mode.

which means this product isn't as bad as someone claimed on the first pages and as stated from the beginning ideal for home use
and can be placed on your desk without noticing that it's on (if the sound level is about as low as the Terminus R606).

I got notified by Bitshopper's mailing list about this but it was already sold out when I peeked at it.

This person can be trusted.

I bought an Avalon 841 from him and received it within a week in clean condition.
(It took longer to have the money wired to him than the actual shipping which was only 2 days)

Hello @hagssfin ,

one of my 841s (which I bought from you) has issues after an electrician turned off the main differential off and on twice.

On the left side I see the lower led being lit.
On the right side I see the upper led being lit.

It's still mining but at 4.2Th instead of 12Th.

Is it still worth trying to repair this (are there even spare parts to find?) or should I get another one or something more recent?

Howdy,

One of my 2PACs has the led constantly burning white.

I guess this one is broken?

Is there a 2 year warranty on this when bought from a european reseller?
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: December 31, 2019, 06:03:51 PM
I soldered a connector taken from a router power supply to the thicker 12V wires.

From what I can read from the label that should go upto 16-20A (268W) so I guess I'm safe and it also has a fan.
(I had a blown up closed power supply from a miner hub this summer when it was 40°C here  and not much less under the roof where the hardware is so some airflow is always nice)

It's been running for about 8 hours now and does 780-850+GH pretty constant on voltage 7 (3 leds on).
The limitation is the usb hub of the pi zero but I'm ok with this speed.
Still better than doing 100GH more and fry your unit after a while.
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: December 30, 2019, 11:01:38 PM
@sidehack: what is the max amount of Ampère that the R606 will pull?

I currently use a computer power supply and the 6 pin connector and if I recall right that port is 10A.

If I want to use another power supply that does not have that 6 pinner and connect it on that round socket does it really have to be 12V/8A?

Or will a 12V/4.5A psu work aswell? I have such lying around and it's a lot smaller than the pc brick but has no fan.

The terminus is running at voltage level speed 4 and gets 750-800GHz on a pi zero.

Can the red and flashing white led be disable with cg miner settings?

Edit:

can I use for example the P6 connector 12+ wires of a 300W (268W max for 12V) pc psu on that round socket? According to the label that is up to 19A.

Edit 2: I have it connected as mentioned in the first edit of this post. It seems to work fine.
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: September 22, 2019, 04:14:07 PM
ok, got it.

I'll see if I can order one soon.

In the meanwhile 'he' can continue doing its job at the current speeds.

I see 3 leds lit so I guess that represents 7?

It's indeed a Pi 3b or 3b+
15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: September 22, 2019, 01:51:13 PM
Hello,

is there a R606 specific step-delay and start-freq value?

my current setting in the config file are below

Code:
"gekko-terminus-freq" : "225.0",
"gekko-2pac-freq" : "225.0",
"gekko-compac-freq" : "225.0",
"gekko-start-freq" : "225",
"gekko-step-freq" : "25",
"gekko-step-delay" : "5",
"gekko-r606-freq" : "800",

but it still takes a minute or so before it jumps up 25 so it takes a while before it will reach 550 or 800 which I just set.

Edit:

I just noticed it adjusted the peak value from 800 to 568. I don't know why it can't go faster maybe it's the USB controller of the raspberry pi that is hitting its limits?
(in speed this varies between 720-830Gh)
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R606 750GH (up to 1TH) quiet miner, now shipping on: September 04, 2019, 03:50:43 PM
The compac, or 1pac stick that I won arrived today.

Adding it to the usb hub didn't seem to work and gave errors like "chip not found (0)".
After restarting cgminer the others didn't work either.

After removing all sticks and adding them again the stick(s) worked fine after restarting the miner a last time.

Anther 11GH/s added... you never know where it is good for Wink

Thanks again, Phil!
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: August 31, 2019, 04:50:16 PM
right, I saw the page with the LED states but it didn't really mention optimal frequencies.

I didn't get any paper with the miner.

I don't know if the current fan is pwm controlled but it's not blowing hard and I don't know if it's currently running at full speed or not
so it's guessing if there is much margin left.
18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: August 31, 2019, 10:24:19 AM
My R606 box is mining since last night.

it seems to do a steady 700-750GH.

I read that you can tweak the frequency to get it near 1TH.

What settings are safe to use?

I have 3 LEDs lit on the bo itself and cgminer has this info...

got my device via Bitshopper yesterday.

after some update/upgrade of the pi and a fresh pull from github as adviced in the support link somebody mentioned a few posts ago it's plain plug & play or plug & mine.

Nicely designed piece of hardware aswell, well done!
