41  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA is Al Qaeda on: July 18, 2013, 03:48:39 PM
I read an interesting article about the US funding Al Qaeda recently. Just be wary of the sources and the accuracy of facts.

Quote
The US government trained, armed, funded and supported Osama bin Laden and his followers in Afghanistan during the cold war. With a huge investment of $3,000,000,000 (three billion US dollars), the CIA effectively created and nurtured bin Laden's al-Qaeda terrorist network using American tax-payers money. Afghanistan is one of the world's poorest countries, where such an enormous sum sum of money would have had extraordinary value.

http://www.theinsider.org/news/article.asp?id=0228

They did not fund the terrorist group Al Qaeda directly. Instead, they funded various Mujahidin and rebel groups, one of which a young Osama Bin Laden was a part of. In particular, rebels were given stingers and taught how to build IEDs in order to fight the Soviet Union. Keep in mind that Bin Laden didn't say he was going to kill thousands of civilians when they gave money to him... The rebel groups said (truthfully!) that they would fight the USSR. However, after the US refused to help rebuild Afghanistan, support dropped, and Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and other groups became hostile to the US.

I don't think it's really fair to say that they "nurtured" his organization, since he was not a main beneficiary. At least it's not fair to say that it was on purpose.

There was no "Al-Qaeda" at that time to fund. "Al Qaeda" simply means "the list" in Arabic, and it was a list of fighters that were fighting against the occupation in Afghanistan and eligible to receive training, funding, weapons, and supplies. If the term "Al Qaeda" was actually first used by CIA operatives providing resources to fighters or the fighters themselves is unknown.

Either way, the U.S. helped to fund them and then pissed them off enough for them to start hating us worse than the USSR. Of course many muslim nations already hated us, but now with ready-made and trained fighters (courtesy of the U.S. government), they had a way of indirectly attacking us in various ways, though until the last 10-20 years so haven't made too dramatic of an effort to inflict suffering upon us. The building of a butt-ton of victory mosques in the U.S., though, goes to show just how much they are winning right now, though (with the biggest one being the "memorial" for the flight that went down in PA on 9/11).

It's kind of sad, really. We created our own enemy (with or without forethought on how to maneuver them into doing what the powers that be wanted in order to control us at home with even better excuses).

Wish I would have seen this one before posting in the other one. D'oh.
43  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Devil worshipers cult Illuminati (Bilderberg Group) teaching little kids sex on: July 18, 2013, 01:44:42 PM
Well considering the age range of girls in the Girl Scouts of the USA (I know, not a school organization, but bear with me for a moment) and their pro-promiscuity and pro-abortion literature they put into the hands of these impressionable girls, it isn't a far cry to what the OP is claiming (I didn't bother with the youtube video as the OP apparently doesn't have the first clue in proper grammar, if s/he made the video it's probably even worse).

Also consider that Planned Parenthood has managed, in the north-eastern U.S. to get schools to allow it to provide talks and distribute materials teaching kids about oral sex and fisting.

Oh yeah, parents didn't know about it until after the fact.

So yeah, the OP probably isn't that far off base, given the true existence of the Council on Foreign Relations (and the fact the U.S. government has thanked them publicly for 'telling us what to think') and the Trilateral Commission and their level of influence worldwide.

We have registered with Bitcoinstarter to jump-start the crowdfunding of the site. In addition to that, I'm going to sell individual poems (I have a selection of about 6 right now, more if I can retrieve them) and some fractal images I've made (I'll have watermarked versions posted in a thread on the sale forums) for a hugely discounted price (versus when they go up on BitSale) as well as a recipe or two I have.

Please, if you can help fund this start-up, I need your help!

Send your tips here: 1UZvLk9Uceyq9KmNV5N72cuqopJcxMM9V (inputs.io users will be able to transfer BTC w/o any fees!)

Thanks for helping to support this, Bitcoin Talk community!

The CFR and Trilateral Commission are the real source, the puppiticians in government are just their marionettes. The left/right thing isn't just smoke and mirrors, though.

SocialismCapitalism and all it's little sects, has had powerful adherents throughout history. Even though it keeps on failing, each successive generation keeps on pushing for it because they think they can do it better, and then they fail and start lashing out at all those they think kept them from succeeding even though it was their own flawed philosophy that failed.

Fixed. Cheesy

Unless you are trying to claim credit card processors are socialist.

No, not the processors, but the people behind them ARE very left-leaning and tend toward socialism even though their own fortunes were made outside of a socialist system. "Fix" reverted.

Pfff, when will joe sixpack wake up and discover this right/left bullshit is just a way to keep people away from the real source of issues.

You mean like the Council on Foreign Relations?
50  Economy / Economics / Re: What would be the cost of keeping BTC - USD exchange rate < 200 ?! on: July 10, 2013, 03:36:35 AM
Why the interest in what it takes to keep its valuation down?

If the purpose of BitCoin (and other cryptocurrencies) is to replace 'real' fiat currencies, I think their effect should be largely ignored. Maybe right now it's a good thing their is an exchange rate, but eventually we'd want these 'hard' currencies to go away, right?

That would be the ideal case, but that will take a long time to happen, or it will never happen.

Till then, we have to deal with exchange rates, speculations, and conspiracy theories.

They aren't theories if they are really happening. Wink
51  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is Dead on: July 10, 2013, 03:32:35 AM
I agree but its not dead yet.  ASICMINER is in it for the money.  They do not care about bitcoin's future. Otherwise they should NOT be mining and just sell hardware.  They could limit the amount of GHs per order so 1 person cant order several THs.  This would at least slow down the centralization somewhat.

Bitcoin doesn't need ASICMiner to "care about Bitcoin's future".  Can you imagine how horribly fragile (and ultimately doomed to failure) a system would be if it required all actors to be altruistic?  Bitcoin just needs ASICMiner to be economically rational and as a for profit venture it is.

Completely 100% agree.

Very interesting, and it does seem to point to an overall strategy, but this isn't anything really new, though. Socialism and all it's little sects, has had powerful adherents throughout history. Even though it keeps on failing, each successive generation keeps on pushing for it because they think they can do it better, and then they fail and start lashing out at all those they think kept them from succeeding even though it was their own flawed philosophy that failed.

Nothing new to see here, just be sure to keep your eyes and ears open.

Your efforts are turning Bitcoin into a centralized, debt and interest ridden cashless currency.

WTG !

HT :/

How do you figure that?

Do you provide ruby as well? I'm just wanting something I can use to keep a ruby-bot in my irc channel. Might get gribble later on, too.
