Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy

Waves has really been stable despite the recent market mood swings. This is one of those rare moments where I wished I had stuck to my oars and kept on paddling rather than lost sight and jump ship. These expensive mistakes...
I did not sell my Waves and only in the moments of price reduction I bought more. So far - no regrets. And even more so with the upcoming airdrop. I think once the date for the Vostok airdrop is announced, we will see the price of Waves go up a bit until that exact date. Caused by people who want to get free Vostok tokens. I guess the recent 300% rise of the price could already have something to do with that. Smart money never sleeps and it typically knows things in advance, this is why it's smart.

I've been a fan of Waves for a long time now but I must say that lately I've started to be more and more disappointed with how the project is proceeding. It's just not only the slowness of developement which is for obvious reasons frustrating, but also the surreal inadequateness of some of the adopted solutions. One little example: Finally we've got Nano Ledger support, something I've been waiting for a long time; but then, the way to access your waves wallet on Ledger is a pain in the ass each time, since it is totally counter intuitive. Each time you try to access your account on a different device with the Waves client you are prompted to create a new account. Why? I already have an account on Ledger. So you click to create the account and then you notice the little link in the lower part of the windows which offers you to import the account. It seems absurd to have to import an account you already have on the Ledger but you click it anyway and then - and only then - you are offered the option to "import" the Ledger account. So you happily click on that and suddenly you have to decide on which of the 5 (five) door you want to knock, ie which of the 5 addresses which are displayed is the one where your existing account is hiding. How the hell would I remember? So you just import them randomly, one after the other, hoping to get the right one before the firth attempt, and each time you are asked to give a name to each account. Obviously later on you will have to deal with all useless accounts which you ended up creating at this point trying to access the wallet which already exists on the Ledger. In the end you finally make it inside, and in the right account and you see your waves balance. Great. Great? Now you need to transfer to your wallet some new waves tha you have bought on an exchange and so you are looking for your waves address, which obviously is displayed nowhere for you to copy. Very smart. After all, who ever would need to copy their own Waves address ? Below your Waves asset tab there is a nice button "receive" and you click it and finally you can see your Waves address. But there is a catch: there is no way to copy this address. Now it's getting smarter and smarter. You are instead offered either to copy a link for an invoice to be sent to someone (but I don't need a fucking invoice, I just need my address!) or a link to the option of purchasing waves via credit card - which may be useful indeed for the morons who cannot deal with buying on exchanges but I'm totally not interested in that. Even to select the Waves address and to copy it the old way doesn't work, because the right click of the mouse is disabled. Totally brilliant. I'm starting to think that perhaps, instead of buying I should rather sell (which is probably what many others are currently doing, looking at how the price is behaving), but I decide to give it one more chance and I click on the "portfolio" tab, in the upper part of the wallet. There I'm getting a new button which allows me to "receive" assets, I click it and - surprise surprise - as a default option I'm offered to receive Bitcoins, and a dropdown menu offers me to switch to several other coins, but not Waves. And anyway, all the addresses to receive any of those assets cannot be copied. Mission aborted. But who is writing this stuff? In other words, WTF, Mr. Sasha Ivanov?

I'm new to CryptoBridge. Just made my account here. But I didn't understand how to make a backup of the account wallet. If I'm following the help instructions I land up in a page which does NOT allow me to create the .bin file which allegedly is necessary for the backup. I've tried to create a new account from scratch (changing IP and clearing cookies, otherwise it wouldn't let me) but the system still does not allow me, after I click on the creation button the server seems to never answer. In other words: it's two hours I'm struggling to open an account which I can backup and I still couldn't. I would not call this being user friendly. So what should I do?

This sort of easy signature campaign is very convenient for lazy guys. They love them for sure. Anyway, I support the idea of SEMUX team to end the campaign and might start later with stricter rules. Agreed most of people knew the value of semux coin since the first airdrop to Btalk communities which was very easy to accumulate up to 1000+ sem in one week not the same as signature campaign required one + quality post to be eligible for 20 - 100 sem per week . I think signature campaign was very successfully because every week new participants join the campaign . Semux was an old style signature campaign. We don't get those any more. Of course people signed up as soon as they found out. Who doesn't like free money? But was it successful? I guess that depends on your definition of successful. I think it encouraged dumping as well as spread coin recognition around. Kind of a mixed bag. Dumping is just coins passing from weak hands to strong hands, not a big deal on the long run. But the signature campaign has been very successful in terms of visibility, so that has probably increased the community which in return means more value for the coin long term.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we change the public's view of Crypto world?
|
on: September 21, 2018, 01:19:46 AM

Only the mainstream media has the power to change the view of the public in a consistent way. All we can do it to go out way and then the people will slowly come to our side with us, as soon as they start understanding what crypto actually is, each person according to their capability and speed of understanding.

Is there a time frame for a total reduction plan?I don't know if the 100 million total is too much, but if more exchanges are listed, it can diversify the supply of transactions, and a single exchanges doesn't tell the whole story.
Does this mean that there is a plan to reduce total coin supply? I didn't check this detail, but I have noticed that ober 90% of total supply is still not circulating. This is one of the things the team has been discussing internally and will like to put more thought into. If in case we decide to push forward with this idea we will let the community know. For now no decision has been agreed regarding supply reduction. Which would be the reasons for such a reduction? I hope that the only reason to reduce supply would not be to increase its value - that would be a real low level operation, clearly finalized to some pump and dump. I guess Semux has higher standards and reasons to be than that.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] Horizen: Bringing Privacy To Life [EX ZenCash]

Today I was once gain in Shato Robert Doms Restaurant (Kyiv, Khreshatyk 24) and this time I paid for coffee and tea in ZEN (Horizen, ex-ZenCash) which is available with Paytomat system.
This time I took photo of 2 bills, the one on the left is in ZEN and paid it instantly from Coinomi wallet. 0.31951 ZEN was at the moment around $5. The check on the right is ordinary check, which lists what you took, for example #1 is coffee (59 UAH, Hryvnya - Ukrainian currency) and #2 is tea (78 UAH)
This is very cool, and makes me curious about how many places there are already which accept ZEN for payments. Is there any list of restaurants, bars, and other businesses accepting ZEN?

The Semux project team is working hard, and the current bounty activities are open to interested parties. The long-term development of the Semux project is worth investing in.
Bounty from very different from the others, semux offers payments per week for the bounty signature campaign and it attracts the attention of all bitcointalk users and it's very good. Yes. And if i remember well, the reward i got every week is almost similar, which means that we have not attract too much attention and exposure SEM deserved. To be honest, i would rather to get less reward per week, because it means much more members from blockchain members are getting to know us. I agree, this is a very wise way to think. Adoption is the only key to value, so wishing to get more coins which are less valuable would make very little sense.

This coin not mine, algorithm dPOS. If you have coins, you can vote for any of the 100 validators and get %, on this site http://pool.7u.org/ approximate awards for 1000 votes. Or yourself become a validator, you will have to burn 1000 coins, collect about 55,000 votes(coins), place the validator on a good server and receive your coins, now block rewards 3 sem for block. Lol, it is too strange, honestly. I have never invest into any project which has strange block reward mechanism like SEMUX. Validators can earn coins through their votes. Sounds strange. Yes, but you must be in the top 100 validators to generate coins, the competition is very large. Already now 6 delegates with 50k votes can not get to the list of validators. You validators should be interested (% of reward), that they would vote for you. You probably do not understand how the POS algorithm works. Nobody forces you to invest) Quite a mysterious mechanics. Trying to understand if that's only a game or if the Whole mechanism has a sustainable sense. Is there any one pager to explain the exact logich of all this?

Hi community & team. I installed the PRiVCY game today and started playing. It's looking interesting, never played a "manga" like game but let's see If I will have fun That's great buddy, It's really interesting to play a game like that but of course sooner or later playing will give us many rewards for playing it. For example some rewards for weekly game events we can earn some priv there also. Is there a Privcy game out there? I have heard of a game which accepts Privcy, but nothing more? Could you please give details?

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Virtual Rehab - Psychological Rehabilitation for the Most Vulnerable

Unfortunately, we had to enforce the KYC requirement due to the fact that we have witnessed the participation of many bots and fake profiles (including repeating comments), which could have a negative impact on the bounty campaign. The purpose of the bounty campaign is to educate folks about the work that Virtual Rehab has conducted thus far, our achievements, our global awards, and recognition received thus far; along with what we plan to embark on accordingly.
Well, I must admit this is a good reason for a KYC for Bounty hunters, one I didn't think at. Of course it has a sense when announced at an early stage, which is what you have done. So that's fine. Other ICOs in the past had announced this requirement only after the campaign had ended, which I'd find unacceptable.
