I really hope you have a kid and he turns out to be gay. What would you do? You could say you're nearly as bad as Mr Hitler himself... But seriously I have quite a few gay friends, and it doesn't make a difference to our relationship... Its not like gay people come up and wave their nobs in your face. I think if you knew some homosexuals, you would realise the majority just want go get on with their lives in a happy way and don't display their sexuality for all to see. You obviously get extremists, ones which really put themselves out there... But you also get in yo face religious people or racists... They are generally the minority. But again you don't know any gay people so you are just relying on what you have heard so your opinion is pretty crappy.
You keep saying the word 'normal'... what is normal exactly? No one person is the same, no one is normal. If we were all normal we would be robots... Each human beings uniqueness is what makes our species so 'great.' I bet you think homosexuality is a disease lol.

And being drunk relaxes control on behavior, there are numerous occasions when girls getting touched and stripped by drunk friends.

I bet you'd LOVE that to happen you cheeky chappy! Alcohol, the closet homosexuals best friend.

Starting an online store when you can't code or even afford a domain name is one thing. Asking Disney to give you the rights to Talespin and getting angry when people tell you its not going to happen is something else  entirely.  Cheesy

Ok, I now feel rather mean after my last two posts.
But honestly, the evidence is mounting up of you (OP) being a habitual whiner who blames all his short-comings on other people. Here is my advice: Get a mirror, look into it, ask yourself: "is this how I want everyone to remember me". Assuming the answer is NO, get yourself back into education learning practicle skills (NOT DRAWING FURRY FRICKING ANIMALS) and get a good job. It doesn't look like you are a dumb guy, just perhaps one who has been unfortunate in ones ventures. Don't lose confidence in yourself - if you do then you will always fail.

I thought I hit rock bottom when I lost my job with Wal-Mart the second time.

From his blog ^

GO TO COLLEGE, GET QUALIFICATIONS, DONT WORK AT WAL-MART
Heck it looks like you have a fine hand for animation and drawing... why don't you pursue that further?

I needed someone to calm me down, so I went back to Second Life while posting an add on pounced. Chelsea said she was my mate but then had cold feet and said it felt like a friendship then a relationship and ditched me. I thought I was loosing my touch and broke down. While I was coming off that, Nicole got to know me and said I spent more time trying to make everyone else happy but not her. She then went and rallied everyone in the KSA and had them each badger me and back me into a corner before I snapped! Everyone knew it had happened and never apologised.

wtf

And you then had the audacity to sell your services, saying "I can build such sites. Not everyone knows how to build these sites and/or set them up to run correctly. My rates are reasonable and my work is professional.", demonstrate exactly how unprofessional and incompetent you are, and you expect people to flock to your site?

LMAO that made me laugh.

But yes I'm not going to repeat the advice I gave you, OP, in another post of mine but I'd like to say this:
You need to stop blaming others and stop feeling sorry for yourself. Todays world is incredibly competitive and you get NOTHING for free in this life. You complain about only having a part-time job.... well get yourself back into school and learn some practical skills that will get you a well paying job.
I see many people in the UK whining about having no jobs or money... and generally thats because they haven't bothered trying to get one or failed all their GCSEs (of course some are just unlucky). I HATE this attitude that other people or the state should babysit people throughout their lives. Some people actually need help but others just can't be arsed. So as I said: get off your ass, get into school/college, get some GOOD qualifications with job prospects. Sitting and moaning about how shitty your life is isn't going to get you anywhere. Grabbing your life by the horns and doing something about it, on the other hand, will get you far in this world.

Frankly I blame consumerism for this attitude.... I want this car, I want these shoes, I want this laptop.

Sorry for my harsh response but I'm fed up of this type of attitude and I've never seen a lazy whiner who earns himself a good living.
29  Economy / Services / Re: I'm Building a Better egift card service ... on: September 16, 2011, 05:29:35 PM
The only thing I can see this service being used for is to get ones bitcoins into a 'currency' that you can buy things off popular sites... Amazon etc. But when there are several businesses which process btc -> usd/eur/gbp I don't see anyone using it for that reason.
Unless you make your profit margins so small that it would be benefitcial for a user to use your service then I can't see many people using it. And by that I mean profits smaller than it would cost a user to trade btc -> usd then to withdraw to a bank account.
Of course you might get a few people buying gift cards for others as presents but its not going to be a huge amount of trade.

I doubt a site like that would need any real maintenance once its all set up and running, so you could set it up and see what happens.

Noviz thanks for the feedback. Trust me I was as skeptical as you about getting into this and thought out what you have mentioned regarding the fact people would just cash out their bitcoins say to dwolla and then go to the merchants and buy the goods so what is the point of a service like mine?  I don't think I can compete with that I do agree. I guess people just don't want to hassle with it ? With this system you get a egift code within 24 hours or less to go spend at the merchants you care about amazon, newegg etc., etc.,  ... like I said I'll put up what I have so far so people can get a better idea because I don't think I'm clearly stating all the benefits for the service.

Yeah the speed will also be a big incentive to use your service. The quicker you can make it the better.

Just a thought you could do a reverse system where you sell MTGox USD vouchers for cash. Although why someone wouldn't just deposit to MtGox would be the downside to that.

Incentives - Thinking of doing a "rewards" or "bitcoins back" or "winner contest" for choosing us.

Your only saving grace is probably by introducing incentives like these ones above. Perhaps having a rolling jackpot or something which a lucky buyer could win... or maybe the user with the most recurring orders each month wins something.

Noviz, could you give me a hint how to implement good anti-duplicate account measure? =) Just keep in mind - this is bitcoin, not credit cards used to fund account.

I know a bit about online security. And running 10 virtual boxes with VPNs set to different IP address seems like an easy solution against any anti-duplicate measure right now. =)

Remember - there are no 100% secure websites. And you can't do it. What you should try to do - make it economically nonsense to exploit "flaws" (just like bitcoins 51% attack - it can be done, but with this amount of power you can get much more legitimate way).

Where I was mistaken - amount of incentive needed to make people try to use this "flaw".

Ok fair enough, I see your point... but what surprised me was that you didn't seem to have put any thought into duplicate user security at all, judging by your previous posts. I suppose the anonymity of bitcoins compared to credit cards is one of the fundamental pitfalls that gambling sites will have to cope with.
But I still think you were abit naive in thinking that no one would try to exploit the flaw Tongue If its there then someone will always exploit it.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What next? on: September 16, 2011, 03:46:53 PM
It's a hobby, finding and successfully exploiting a flaw is rewarding in more ways than 0.78 BTC

The only flaw was assuming nobody will be trying to cheat for bitcents. =)

Well if that is what the flaw is then it shows your naivety as a developer. I think its harsh to blame the communities 'bad eggs' for your own bad design. You should never trust your users at all, especially in sites such as yours... it sounds bad but if you don't put the correct security, validation, verification in place then you could get one user in a million that would love to piss your site up. Why didn't you implement any safe-guard against duplicate accounts? Did you just not think anyone would try to do this type of thing? I thought duplicate accounts security would be one of the big things to implement in gambling websites, particularly poker.

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm done on: September 16, 2011, 01:19:01 PM
No offence to you but its called business. This type of thing happens all the time so you cant be mad at the consumer for going for the cheaper product.
Plus your site wasn't professional looking despite what you say. You left default Zen cart messages in and never create a nice design. I realise you said you are not a PHP coder but you could have atleast put that you also accepted bitcoins on the homepage. From what you have described it seems the ONLY way to know that that site accepted bitcoins was to actually get to the checkout which is just simply awful design. I expect if you had asked someone here they could have set it all up for you for free.

Secondly it sounds like you put everything you had into making bitcoins your main source of income... for starters that was kind of a stupid idea... Bitcoins are a rather big gamble in the business side at the moment so you should never put in more than you can afford when gambling.

Also you don't sound like a stupid person... why don't you go to college and get some good qualifications to get a good job instead of your minimum wage one. You can't whine your way through life, you have to improve yourself... you can't expect everything to be spoon fed to you. I feel like this is the problem with society these days; everyone thinks they deserve a huge house and loads of money just because they exist. So go to college and do a good course with actual job prospects at the end of it... not some stupid mickey mouse one. It looks like you have to take a good look in the mirror and stop blaming other people for your misfortunes.

Don't get me wrong I do feel bad for you, but it looks like you have just had a crash course in business and failed miserably lol. As someone else said, people were probably under cutting you because they bought in bulk... thats how business is done. Cards are also a very niche market... and I doubt most of the bitcoin users would want to buy them. And no one in their right mind is going to buy a voucher for more than than its worth... or atleast at the price you were selling them for.

*EDIT*

Well fuck me backwards, I only have a Gray Davis Californian education.
So that leaves $1.50 chalked up to shipping/handling charges but wait... if I tossed it into a bubble envelope instead of a crappy one that would get damaged, it woulda costed MORE then $1.50 shipping. I guess my education's to blame for that too huh...
The trading cards were priced at face value in case anyone was wondering, especially those Derek Jeter cards.

Thats why you buy in bulk. Selling stuff on the internet generally has fine profit margins, especially for cheap products, because the postage is so expensive. Your business model was totally screwed from the outset I'm afraid because it wasn't sustainable.

It did in the begining.. amazing how many people will stand here and oust me now, but backed me up 6 months ago. One more reason why I'm done with bitcoin.

Just because people say they like the idea of your site it doesn't mean they'll actually BUY anything off it.

39  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BitcoinsReview.com - Review Bitcoin Merchants on: September 12, 2011, 06:07:42 PM
(this is copied from the site)

After a few weeks of inner thought I have decided I'm going to completely remake the site. I feel like bitcoinsreview.com has A LOT of potential and perhaps is not getting used as much as it should be.

As many of you have probably noticed, the site runs on wordpress which is a fantastic tool but really not ideal for developing the type of features I want to implement.  Some of the procedures I have to go through at the moment to simply insert a new website is, put frankly, painful.

As for new features, I'd like to ask you, the users, what you'd like to see added to the website. If you want to contribute just e-mail me at bitcoinsreview@gmail.com or put a post on my thread on bitcointalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=9245.0

Here is a list of things I'm considering implementing in the new version:

- Review rating system (thumbs up/down style) - This will mean that the processing time of publishing reviews will be quicker simply because users can vote them down if they aren't helpful.

- Better category system with sub-categories - For example, Merchant Shops -> Tangible Products -> Consumables -> Beer... Naturally this will be much more user-friendly for everyone.

- Forum (a few people have suggested this one now).

- Merchant promotion area - Basically on each individual website page the owner of the site will be able to post announcements or promotions for the users of bitcoinsreview.com

- A cleaner website allowing for better user interaction and overall experience.

Those are just a few Smiley
