Thats what the difficulty adjustment is meant to do. The inflation rate is kept constant. And thus further proves the point that difficulty has got nothing to do with exchange rates. The supply unrolls in a fixed expected rate. What was meant by 'fixed'. However the exchange rate is driven by demand.

Hi Slush,
I posted before the recent D jump to 877k, unfortunately soon after there was the attack on ur pool and I know you were really busy getting it up again. Now I'd like to bring my concern up again. I've not really arrived at an average that is close to my expected rate of BTC before and I have not now.
My expected at current difficulty is ~3.7 BTC/day and with 2% stales it's still ~3.6 BTC/day. I'm seeing 2.7ish and a 7-day average of 2.45ish. This is much similar to my previous post % of around 30% difference between my 7-day average and my expected returns. I've been busy to change my script to test out other pools and I'd like to ask for some sort of justification.
Judging from what I hear from others, they are getting pretty close to the expected value thus I'm feeling like there is some kind of fault on my end, however I'm not seeing it. Your previous reply indicated there might be some problems with my miners. I've stayed with them and I'm seeing no issues, just for info I'm running

been wanting to reply here since the day it start, this is a great project and I believe the community will greatly benefit from what you are doing. I will donate once I get to test it out. I believe it's going in a great direction and I hope this project will continue to come to a respectable milestone  I don't have any expertise that may help the progress but I hope my donation will serve as an encouragement. u have to be in the right dir to run
screen -d -m -S miner1 ./poclbm.py blah blahblah (or ./phoenix)
use screen -ls to list the miners u have
use screen -X -S miner1 quit
to stop the mining.
I use these few commands in a script and put them on startup applications in ubuntu to auto run headlessly. everytime i can't ssh into the machine i assume it hang or froze i just restart it. but this seldom happens.
I'm having problems controlling my miners on linuxcoin. i SSH into it perfectly fine but I realize when i tried to run poclbm or phoenix, the device list only shows me the processors. however when i do aticonfig --lsa, i see my GPUs.
Anyone have this problem and know how to solve it?

after fresh reinstall of Ubuntu and following the guide completely again. Phoenix is working now. I'm doing AGGRESSION=13 + backup pool with poclbm -f60. Still have no idea why it didn't work previously, but since I couldn't get much help from the forum I reinstalled everything, works fine now. Btw jedi. Nice job on the new release. No more freezing workers |

Version 1.50 has been released. This should fix the miner getting stuck idle. I added a workaround for now since I am not 100% confident that I fixed the underlying problem. Changes: 1. Fixed long poll crashing when the server disconnects the miner with a message 2. Fixed QueueReader error when stopping the kernel 3. Several RPC protocol changes to reduce occurrence of idle miner problem 4. When idle the miner will now request more work every 15 seconds (this should eliminate idling in cases where the connection isn't lost) 5. LP now works in cases where the URL uses a query string (thanks to error for the patch, see page 30 for details) @SchizophrenicX You need to add the port after the server: http://username.workername:workerpassword@api.bitcoin.cz :8332Nope. yea. I'm having windows trouble right now and I have been trying to get my miners running on linux since it's free. I don't even have a working windows machine right now unfortunately... although at this moment it seems like one of my old XP machine is able to restore it's OS from a recovery partition. Anyway... Hi, I finally got down to getting a fresh install and followed the guide. I had to reboot, aticonfig --initial --adapter=all then reboot again. cuz the first time I have no idea it seems like it didn't get through.
Anyhow. I kept having failed to connect from phoenix and can't get poclbm to run. Anyone can give me an idea?
Also via Aticonfig I can't underclock my mem to 300. I heard this got to do with the atiocl file but I don't know how to do it. I know AMDOverdriveCtrl can go to 300 and even below but I wanna write a simple script to run my miners and OC at the start of the machine.
EDIT: poclbm can connect but phoenix keeps saying Failed to connect. -.- I don't know why poclbm had error running previously after I reboot. It runs fine.

Well since this is here, could any 5970 experts help me with stable OC? I'm currently doing 850/300 @ 375 mhash/s, unable to find any stable combinations above 850 core clock. Trying to squeeze more mhash/s out of my 5970s as they are running only around 70 degrees. I believe theres still much OC potential in 'em.
