I understand how the GDAX stop limit sell portion works but I am a little confused on the buy side of stop limit.

Example:

BTC Bitcoin is at $15,000

If I want to buy bitcoin at $14,000 or less, what is the correct way to set up the order?

Do I enter $14,000 at in the STOP PRICE, which would enter the order into the books...

and then set the LIMIT price to $1.00?  If it is crashing I'd rather get in as low as possible.  Or do Stop BUY orders not need a limit price at all?

I am in the coin game about all day long but my work requires me to to be in three different towns each week, all several hundred miles apart. Also have to go out of state for a couple weeks next month.

Just signed up for this exchange and trying to transfer in some LTC which has been "pending" for an hour....   Decided to enable 2FA on my account and then they sent me an email that said for security reasons all withdrawls will be delayed for 2 days because of my account security change. WTF....

Wired 25k into Coinbase to supplement my existing portfolio. Wires are delayed apparently so it'll be another 2 or 3 days before the funds are available.

Some of these coins I already hold and have gotten into significantly lower than current price. Some I don't have. Waives I really wanted to get into at $8.00 but was sick and I took a bunch of NyQuil and fell asleep. When I woke up it was at $11 so I haven't bought any.  The main goal is returns obviously, but I really want to make sure I'm holding a decent amount of whatever gets listed on Coinbase next.

I also own IOTA, LTC, BTC, ETH, RDN, SC, VTC, EMC2, TRX, Bytecoin and a couple others.

Just got a new Ledger Nano S and it is one frustrating piece of crap. I have about 15 different Alt coins and Ledger will support about 10 of them in conjunction with MyEtherWallet.

Please tell me there is something better on the market. I don't care if I have to buy a new computer for cold storage or whatever but this Ledger Nano is ridiculous.

It constantly freezes requiring computer restarts, wont connect, wont sync, wont load wallets. Takes forever. ONLY works with Google Chrome and Chrome Apps.  Will only hold 4 coin programs (advertises 5 but mine runs out of space and wont install) so you have to constantly install and uninstall coin apps on the device. Ripple wallet takes 3 minutes to open assuming all the planets have aligned.

Trying to store altcoins on this in conjunction with MyEtherWallet.... holy *F#%*(#U!ing confusing and definitely does not instill any confidence that my coins are secure and RELIABLY accessible.

If there is nothing better out there I might just say screw it and leave the alt coins on the exchanges and only store larger quantities of BTC LTC and ETH on this thing. If this is the best and most intuitive piece of hardware the crypto word can come up with than some other company will soon make a killing when they can design a better user friendly wallet that doesn't require a masters in computer science to operate.

I've been thinking of investing in trade.io but wanted to gather people's thoughts first. I'm in the US and their website wont let me register but according to the FAQ US accredited investors can. I meet those qualifications so I'll have to send them a message.

Do you think it is a good project worthy of investment?

Alright here is the deal... it seems like about every day a different altcoin will gain 100%+ and then quickly be dumped back down the next day.

I've got $5,000 sitting on an exchange ready to buy. Your job is to pick the coin for me and back up the suggestion with your research and reasoning why you think it will have an P&D. I will select one coin out of the replies that I believe has the best presented argument and place a buy order for $5,000. Once that order is filled I will immediately place a sell order at 100% profit. If your information is correct and within 24 hours the coin has gained 100%, I will send you one ETH (roughly about ~$425 USD at the current value).  If the 100% goal is not met within 24 hours you get nothing.

Looking for insight on why ETH and LTC are dropping while bitcoin is soaring to the moon. I've got about 8k invested in these coins and they aren't making me much money.

Just wondering if ya'll have a typical formula you go by or a certain X percentage profit or loss. 

I've been playing around with coins for just under a month now. $23750 total investment and currently up just under 10k in profit. One of the coins (IOTA) has gone up about 288%.  Obviously it would suck if it crashed but it would equally suck to sell if it continues to grow.

Just wondering what a lot of you folks do. I'm considering investing another 25 or 50k into coins. Ideally I'd like to net 15k a month off them but I know that may not be realistic on a monthly basis.

Having trouble deciding if I should sell or hold IOTA. I have 600 shares that I bought a couple days ago at $1.55 and another 390 shares I bought at $2.78.  IOTA is now trading at $3.93.

Upward trend going to continue or is this simply a pump and dump?

A little nervous. Last night I bought 600 shares of IOTA which went up significantly today. I logged back in to move them off the Binance exchange and it is telling me that my withdraws are suspended due to "network congestion." I also have a small balance of ETH that has the same message.

Because they are relatively expensive... I doubt we will see many coins go from 200-700 up to 10k like bitcoin. Trying to find something cheap that goes from .001 to $10 or from $5 to $50, etc
