I always loved these Warranty Void If Seal Broken stickers on Quantum harddrives. I always laugh when I see this parody.

Vanity domain name is just an expensive toy for squatters. The content is more important. Even obscure .onion address was more valuable like silkroadvb5piz3r.onion

Mods have to take subjective views on posts, and that can lead to some decisions that may not be in accordance with your views.
So moderators can delete everything they do not like? Even when the topic is fairy tales or religion?

Quote
Should you post have been deleted? Well that's not for me to judge, but sometimes you have to just write off the deletion as a difference in life perspectives.
So let's just write one proper side of story and delete everything else? Who elected these assholes as moderators to advance their own worldview trough deletion of posts?

Bitcointalk has always been a Christian-based forum and we do not tolerate blasphemy and nobody makes fun of JC on my watch.
I thought that Bitcointalk always was a HTML/PHP/MySQL based forum. Or libertarianism, cryptoanarchy and cypherpunk based forum. Also, I did not make fun of JC Denton https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JC_Denton in any way! I actually love Deus Ex game and consider it to be one of greatest computer games ever created! But if You talk about Jesus, You must know that the father I mentioned is God the Father, not the Son! If You really understand christianity, you must know that! You closeted polytheist. And I am not taking fun about imaginary entities but about dumb zealots who are just running around and talking things that are straight against the reality we experience.

edit: Imagine I am moderator. Then I go really hardcore and convert to islam and start deleting all posts that are even slightly critical about jihadism. Will it be OK?

When Dank was tripping on research chemicals he still posted more meaningful messages than the newbies from 2018

Is Bitcointalk forum overtaken by religious zealots?

Was Dank tripping on research chemical when he started thread back in 2012? Yes, most likely he was. Long time members remember he was one crazy crackpot.
Do calling somebody newbie is insult? No, it is forum rank.
Are Dank's post more meaningful than these one line babbles about life and father? Yes, it is!

Where is the problem??

How to reconcile with a girl?
Let the girl know that you somehow become rich. Might be probable since you are involved with cryptocurrencies.

Also do not do hard anal to her. Some girls like it, but most don't.

Is Bitcoin really secure?
Yes, Bitcoin is really secure.

What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?
If hacker is able to hack your system, he can take all bitcoins stored on the computer as well as future coins sent to these wallets. Blockchain is distributed database that have multiple independent copies and are validated by each full node. So far the only hack against it was some integer overflow that was possible by programming error and was corrected in later versions. I would say that bitcoin blockchain is unhackable.

Quote
Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins?
It is users responsibility to keep their own system secure.

Quote
Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market?
It is not technically possible and also it is against the spirit and purpose of Bitcoin.

Quote
What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?
Nothing happens. Torrenting copyrighted material is illegal, but everyone torrents. Child porn is illegal, but there are terabytes of it available for everyone who knows were to look. If Bitcoin become illegal, people still be using it for anonymous deals because of ease, simplicity and anonymity.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 Released on: March 15, 2018, 10:29:02 AM
Is anyone seeing MUCH WORSE performance on low-end machines?
I have an old PC 1st gen i3, 6GB ram, 256GB ssd, Win 10 64bit and nothing else installed.
With 0.15.1, 0.15.0, 0.14.2, everything was fine. With 16 it takes minutes to do anything.
On the newer PCs I have running core everything is fine, but this on has become worse then useless. Before I wipe it and start again is anyone else seeing this behavior?

Yes, I know it's old and slow but all it does is just sit there with the core client running on it with nothing else and it's been fine like this for years. Did it just get too old or is it something else?

-Dave
No noticeable performance differences from 0.15.1 on Win7 x64 machine with overclocked i7-4700MQ CPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. Running with block pruning enabled. And I am really sensitive to any performance drops, like I am able to distinguish between RAM running at stock speeds vs. XMP profile loaded and timings tightened. So I suspect the problem is due to blockchain maintenance or some other thing going on.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there something that Bitcoin was not blamed for yet? on: March 12, 2018, 05:55:06 AM
The only bad thing associated with Bitcoin are Scams. All other "evil" things are just boogeyman of western world.
151  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: List of bitcoin full nodes held by bitcointalk users? on: March 02, 2018, 09:58:35 PM
My ISP rotates external IP address every 12 to 24 hours. How can I prove I run full node anyway? I run full node for the health of network as well as for my own needs.
152  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Latvija (Latvia) on: March 02, 2018, 09:49:31 PM

153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 Released on: March 02, 2018, 09:39:05 PM
So far so good. Upgrade from 0.15.1 64-bit was problemless. Really like the option to quit client with Q button when starting up. Comes handy on really slow systems if there is need to abort loading. I do not like the new Bleach32 adresses. The look like some random altcoin adresses but time will show how they are adopted. The presentation from Peter on Jewtube is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqiN9VFE4CU The Replace by Fee option also can come handy in some situations when you might need to double-spend.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help please with Bitcoin Core download on: February 26, 2018, 12:58:50 AM
Use Electrum instead of bitcoin core is the best advise I can give.
Not that good advice. Electrum is thin client instead of full node.

It is like suggesting to take Metro to a guy who is complaining that his car is going too slow.
155  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is airdorp? on: February 23, 2018, 04:16:55 PM
It is faucet, not airdrop. Airdrop is when you order drugs from deep web with bitcoins and they are delivered by drones or parachuted from aircraft.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: February 23, 2018, 02:00:21 PM
As long as two nodes are connected to each other, there is possible to do mining and transactions. It means if in whole world there is only a single computer running Bitcoin client, then Bitcoin can be considered dead.

Also some issues can happen if entire blockchain is completely lost. But it is unlikely that every SSD, HDD, and tape drive containing blockchain is destroyed. Zombie outbreak are unlikely to achieve this, alien invasion - not so sure. We still find software for USSR made microcomputers on proprietary Static RAM cards, still powered by lithium cells in abandoned cold war buildings. It is very unlikely that every storage device holding blockchain or parts of it are gone.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transaction for 3+ hours on: February 18, 2018, 11:12:20 AM
I have two transactions that eventually confirmed after more than week with tx fees 1000 satoshis per 1024 bytes. You must be patient, lucky, or both. Or pay higher tx fees.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I found a collision. The hard part is proving it. on: February 16, 2018, 09:44:07 PM
You guys forgot about so called Birthday attack. No, I am not talking about USA drones bombing wedding parties or funerals in Afganistan and Yemen. I am talking about this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_attack when lots of random numbers are generated, it greatly increases probability that two random numbers are identical. Somebody should do the math to calculate exact percentage on how likely is to get one collision when there are n numbers of unique bitcoin addresses generated and used in blockchain. But I still think that probability of collision in real life is close to zero, even if birthday attack collision probability is increased several orders of magnitude.
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: wallet.dat backwards incompatibility in 0.15.1 version on: February 15, 2018, 11:15:33 AM
After messing around I come to this conclusion. The wallet.dat somehow got corrupted and newer Bicoin Core versions have problem when trying to use it. The solution was to run bitcoin-qt.exe with -salvagewallet option. It created new High Definition wallet with private keys imported from old wallet.dat Except the labels are not imported.

The thread should be renamed to more appropriate name. Also I will not share the corrupt wallet since it does contain something I would not like to share.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help please with Bitcoin Core download on: February 11, 2018, 02:36:52 PM
8 days is nothing. You must do it only once. Then it will be there as long as the computer and OS is alive.

I think the bottleneck probably is the mechanical HDD or network speed.
