I PM'ed the OP and no reply. I think its safe to assume that he has either sold it or doesn't want to sell it anymore.
22  Other / Meta / Re: suggestion: Ask for a BTC address upon registration on: October 31, 2017, 10:55:51 PM
A lot of the time, private keys will get stolen contemptuously with an account getting hacked so this won’t necessarily solve anything.

Also, the administration will look at a lot more than the signed message when considering to recover an account.

Such as what?

If someone delivers couple of signed messages with a couple of BTC addresses posted here, what other proof could you need? If that doesn't cut it then nothing would.

Like I said, most people getting their accounts stolen is due their emails getting hacked. Getting your private keys stolen is much harder if you are keeping them safe.
The admins will check to make sure the person making the request is the same person who owns the account. The forum does not broker account sales, but will not knowingly help a scammer recover an account they have sold. The admins will review the geo-location, ISP, browser, OS, etc., of the person who is believed to own the account verses the person who is making the password reset request.

I don't think geo-location, ISP, browser, OS, etc is relevant in 2017. Most people use Tor or VPN to access this website, hopefully with javascript off too because you don't want to get hacked by some scammer sending you a PM that has a javascript exploit of sorts which would get your IP, or a simple image hosted by an attacker that opens itself in a PM and reveals your IP could do it. It's just dump to visit a bitcoin forum without some protection. So both good people and bad people are using these things.

Theymos specifically asks for BTC signed messages because it's the only 100% guaranteed way to prove you own the account (getting email, account and entire BTC wallet hacked is too unlikely specially for people that has been here for years, so Hero Members and up)

BTC signed messages are the only way to securely verify someone without giving away personal information. If someone owns your private keys, they essentially own your bitcoin talk. But at that point, if someone has your private keys you have way bigger problems.

Selling for whatever $550 USD of BTC is worth. PRICE CHANGE $420 USD WORTH OF BTC

This is my first post, not sure what else I need to include in the post, if you want pictures let me know. I also have a case for it, will include it for free.

Verizon but unlocked for any carrier.

Will this work here in the Philippines?
Are you willing to escrow it and pls PM your last price for it.

I'm not sure that it would work, would have to research it. Final price i'd say $380 USD worth of BTC

I can pay $375

I'm willing to pay $400 if you ship it with insurance and are willing to either send it first or use escrow.

Seems like a lot of votes for Electrum. What's the benefit to Bitcoin Core? What resources does it take to host a node? Could you use an external hard drive for your wallet? Would that improve security as it can easily be taken offline?

Yes, generally running core on a separate hard drive is more secure as it can be taken offline. However one risk is that the hard drive may fail. You can also use a paper wallet for cold storage and a normal wallet for your hot funds.

I might be interested. If you're willing to go to $365, and are willing to send first or use escrow and ship via insured please PM me.
26  Other / Meta / Re: 2FA to Active on Bitcointalk Forum (Requested to Admin) on: October 29, 2017, 01:33:53 AM
Slightly unrelated, but instead of using Google Authenticator and what not, wouldn't it be cool to have an option to sign a bitcoin address that is pre-defined as 2fa?

Two things about that:

1. Time:  with true U2F I simply touch a pad on my chip (USB A inserted in a laptop), or tap the Yubi on the back of my Android using NFC and I am in.  The second factor is virtually instant!  Computers and phones never see the keys even if infested!

2.  I will never keep my private keys on an online computer.  Never.  To sign my staked address I have to go to a cold computer because that is where the private keys are stored.

ps - side comments:  U2F is going to grow and become the standard for tons of sites anyway.  That means that serious security seekers are going to own a secure element U2F chip anyway.  Because of how the protocol operates there is no limit for how many sites you can secure using this one U2F element.  It would take me pages here to layout how this works but there are links everywhere online.  For users its "point and click" easy, and recovery codes in advance make account recovery routine!

pss - bank example:  should be the same here when U2F is implemented.  When I am logged into my bank and want to change my email or password I am stopped until I do a U2F verification.  How nice would that be here?  Nobody could mess with someone's account unless they physically held the needed U2F element OR they had the recovery codes.  No exceptions!

I agree that normal 2fa would be generally faster and more reliable, but it would still be nice to have that option. You should be able to pic. I have no problem storing my coins on my laptop, so I can sign messages on the fly.

I would highly recommend Bitpay wallet for desktop. It works on every major operating system and on both IOS and android. It is very user friendly and its currently my main wallet.

Along with what others have said, you might be better off just posting in general because the higher rank you are, the larger your signatures can be, and the larger your signatures are, the more you get paid.
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin a worthy investment is it a safe currency? on: October 28, 2017, 10:56:53 PM
Yes, and no. Yes, It is extremely unlikely bitcoin will ever fall below 1 or 2k now but it might. Which is why you should only invest what you are able to afford to lose. Do not put your life savings into bitcoin because if it does drop you'll be in financial danger.
30  Other / Meta / Re: How Do Negative Trust Work on: October 28, 2017, 10:07:10 PM
Hello folks,

I want to know how negative trust works. A few hours ago, I came across a fellow managing a campaign. In the campaign thread, I notices a link that was broken and blank. I pm him to point out the problem thinking I was helping a friend. He asked me to show him the link and I tried telling him where to find it. Apparently unable to do so, he threatened to 'neg' me.

So my question is, how does negative trust work? Do people neg people out of malice?

It could be yes, look at my trust history, people have negatively repped me for less. However, that does not matter.

Unless the person negging you is in DT2/DT1 (DefaultTrust), it does nothing.

People that are actually in DT2/DT1 are usually high trusted, and usually won't leave blank negatives/or out of malice, simply because they have too much reputation to loose if they do.

If you think someone did, you can open up a reputation thread here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=129.0 and he might explain it. If he gave it out of nonsense, it could be that people from DT1 decide to remove him, or if he is from DT1, DT.

Which makes his rating pretty irrelevant again.

How do i know what trust group im in? My trust bar is green, unlike some other peoples, does that mean im DT2, or DT1 or is that unrelated?

A lot of the posts on here are questions on how to get started, and they will not know how to properly create and secure a bitcoin address. Also I tend to switch wallets pretty often so I would also have trouble verifying my own account if I were to lose access.

Updated the design of the site.
Absence of design is not realy a minimalistic design but it still looks good. I would suggest you to add more of popular currencies, like EUR in fiat and BCH in crypto.

Well there are still a bunch of styles, they are just more subtle. You can view the framework if you are interested

Updated the design of the site. It's not material design anymore but IMO it looks cleaner.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Cleaner is better I guess, and it's a handy tool to check the price for those coins and verify message.
Any plan to ass more coins? Maybe monero, zcash or bcash?
Which API do you use?
I will bookmark your site as well. Appreciate your efforts.

I currently use coinbase's api. My next task is to add more coins and currencies.

I really like how it looks now but something just seems off about the fully rounded corners on the search box, when everything else feels so square. Maybe change the border radius to be the same as the currency boxes?

Fixed it, made it more squareish.
