Hey there,
As I've stated on the subject above, I'm currently looking for a programming job for this summer or for some programming projects, because I need to save up to upgrade to a new laptop for uni.
I've been programming since I was about 12. I have experience in shipping web projects using different languages, such as PHP, Python and Go. I've also developed and shipped apps for OS X and Android, using Objective-C and Java. I have some experience in managing Linux servers and MySQL DBs.
Besides this, I've used briefly other programming languages, like Ruby (the one I'm currently learning), C# (back when Windows Phone 7 launched I started to develop an app for it).
I'm looking for some interesting projects. I've to say that I won't compete with things like offering free website development or ridiculously low prices. I don't think I'd take a project for less than 0.3-0.4 BTC.
If you have any projects or gigs, let me know, either by sending me a PM or by posting a reply on this thread.
Thanks!

Back on the webpage there was an issue that prevented some bets from showing up on the recent bets page, despite having been processed and paid out.
It has now been fixed.
Two bets placed during this period.

Thanks @Soappa and everyone for commenting on the house edge and the 50% back. As I've found, instead of being a think that attracted to the game, it caused confusion and it made the service uncompetitive. So, I've changed directions (and updated the first post). We're offering higher returns (1% more than SatoshiDice; 54% more than the previous offering), however now we won't return 50% if you don't win the bet. Our house edge has been reduced to 0.9%, back from 2.75%. For the posterity, the old Returns: - 1CNDM2Nej4nKfhN5L5yc1jx7jvTKKedvd7 91.55% odds 1.0222x prize

Take a look at the webpage: http://dice.coinnotify.orgThis amazing returns will be for the first 5.000 bets. After that, the house edge will be increased to 1% Thanks for your feedback, and let me know your thoughts on the service.

Yes, it's true that the house edge is slightly higher than other sites, but as it's mentioned, this is to make up for the return of half of the bet.
I implemented the 50% back because I thought with this people would be more willing to take the risk of the bet, as they are sure they won't lose all the bet.
However, even if you get 50% back, the bet is computed with the total amount. For example:
I bet: 0.01 BTC to 50% If I win, I get 0.01 x 1.44 = 0.0144 BTC If I lose, I get 0.01 x 0.5 = 0.005 BTC

Hey there, Id like to introduce CoinNotify Dice, an in-blockchain fair dice game. Its a SatoshiDice style. We give you 10 different types of bet, depending on the odds and on the risk you want to take. You send an amount to a predefined address and youll have a transaction back. We aim for it to be a fast service. Our key differentiator is the house edge. Right now, and as a special opening promotion, were offering a 0.9%, for the first 5.000 bets; after that it will be increased to 1%. That means high returns, even higher than SatoshiDices. - 1CNDM2Nej4nKfhN5L5yc1jx7jvTKKedvd7 91.55% odds 1.0824x prize

You can see the different bets on the website. The minimum bet amount starts at 0.001 BTC. As you may expect, CoinNotify Dice is a fair service, and, in fact, you have all the necessary data at your disposal to verify the bets. And if you happen to have any problems, feel free to PM me, reply this post or send an email to the address stated on the site. Update 1 (23:00 UTC 27 July): Reflected the new amounts and payment method. We dropped the 50% back and, instead, increased the returns.

Thanks! And it is normal the more than 50% drop in global earnings for today? Because it looks very similar to what happened on the 12th.

I think that a similar bug is happening right now, because for some hours ad units' balances haven't increased. Could you confirm it?

Hi there! I have developed a service that lets you receive periodic digest emails regarding the Bitcoin price. It is intended to be a simple email digest, to keep you up-to-date but without boring and unnecessary details. CoinNotify Alerts is available in two flavours: Daily Subscription:- You can receive a daily and a weekly update to get the full picture of the change of Bitcoin value
- It basically helps me run the service
- Price: $5/year (paid with Bitcoin)
Weekly Subscription:- You receive a weekly status email
- Price: FREE
To view a sample digest email and sign up, visit http://www.coinnotify.org/alerts/If you want more information or have any questions, feel free to ask!

Hey, Happy holidays y'all. I've been preparing a new release of CoinNotify, which is being pushed right now. Version 1.0.2 includes: - 2 new Bitcoin exchanges from China
- Allows for an increased amount of time between updates
Also, CoinNotify 1.0.2 includes an unintrusive ad (using Anonymous Ads, so they don't collect personal data) inside the prices listing so I can earn a bit of money from this app. I know this may sound a bit intrusive, but, on the near future I'll offer some way to remove the ad. Also, if you can't live with the ad, you can get the source code and delete the ad. After all, this is the beauty of being open-source.

Howdy! I want to present my new project, it's a spin-off from the Mac price ticker. CoinNotify is a Bitcoin price conversor, you input the number of bitcoins and it turns into the equivalent in a fiat currency. Just like preev. You may be wondering why I have created CoinNotify. Well, besides the fact I like bitcoins, is that I wanted to keep track of the price, but I'm not constantly looking so CoinNotify puts the current price in context. Right now it shows the last 24-hour trend, but in the future you'll be able to toggle to 12h, 5 days, etc. Moreover, quite a lot of replies to CoinNotify for Mac were that they didn't trust the app, so they will be able to trust this web app. Another feature I love, is that it periodically (every 5 minutes, right now) shows a notification for the current price. Unfortunately, this feature is, right now, only available when using Firefox. Don't worry, this is just the beginning! I'm planning to do interesting things with the bitcoin price information I'm collecting. So, head to http://www.coinnotify.org, try it, and tell me what you think.

It's now saying Bitstamp price is $0.00 I hope that's not right. I think it was a Bitstamp server error. Right now, I can see the real price in CoinNotify.

I am not a techie at all and I am wanting to know if this is open source. Do the people that have downloaded it know that there are no malware or trojans in it that could cause harm. I'm sure there isn't I just wouldn't know how to check. There is no malware at all, promise! It's open source, and you can check it on Github: https://github.com/ibittler/CoinNotify

Any plans to add more coins or exchanges? works great on my mac book pro. osx 10.8.4
Yes, if you need another currency or exchange just say it and I'll try to implement it. Cryptsy would be nice... And as far as coin wise, they have a retarded amount, but im only looking at btc, ltc, ftc, ifc, and str. I'm working to integrate Cryptsy. I've contacted them so I could get an URL to request a single ticker for each currency they offer, because currently they only offer a single URL of almost 1MB with all the quotes and the latest orders, and parsing 1MB of JSON every few seconds would be a huge battery overkill and an inefficiency.

Will it be ok when i upgrade to maverick?
It should work with Mavericks fine, I mean, I haven't tested it yet, but it's not using any deprecated or old feature.
