Ok, so as the client somehow went cactus, basically all existent coins in GIL are frozen, this goes as well for GIL balances on Cryptsy,
I myself still have a rather big frozen amount of them on there, is there anything we can do about this at this point. -.-
Do we know what exactly went wrong with the client, why it isn't syncing right now?
Maybe new Nodes would fix the problem?

Gil got quite active today on cryptsy after this announcement  Still undervalued tenfold at least in my opinion, look at the amount of coins and we now got a pretty much perfect client, its very fast too.. but it's good to hear Cryptsy is making some sense here now. |

ok, well, could someone just hand out blockchain files for download that are on the valid blockchain, this is probably the easiest and most convenient way to fix this

GIL Recovery Plan
1. fix the pools Current block is above 108430
2. get coinchoose and block explorer fixed
3. approach bter for listing, they seem to be after a few new coins recently
4. approach the sci-fi/fantasy exchange for possible listing
5. when the hashrate is more than MST approach cryptsy for ltc market listing
6. provide an all in one archive with conf file and blockchain with instructions for use
7. work on coin related services

Indeed, after the updates Hydroponica very obviously just recently made, everything works perfectly fine, blockchain is unified, all my coins are still accessible, miner is hashing away,
I'm really curious to know in what kind of reality the Cryptsy staff seems to live in, GIL ist only just starting to become more popular.
Now that all issues with the client are fixed, everything is set for success.
I mean you just can't say Hydroponica wouldn't be commited enough, he did organize a pool, is doing upgrades whenever needed, he's recruiting new members to the dev team, he even set up an entire fucking Forum dedicated to GIL, all that is left to do is promotion now and we'll find ourselves spending GIL on some nice services such as coingas soon!

This is terrible news. Is this a mistake?
This is just preposterous, we all know Hydroponica has been doing alot of work on the client lately, and he's probably busy coding right now as well. Difficulty is usually around 0.2, was at about 0.5 at some point, it's not as much, but not so few hashing power that it would make a reason to kick the coin out. The trading volume of GIL has been quite steady as well, this is just absurd, seriously Cryptsy didn't even examine it properly. |

Client confirmed for syncing. Sometimes it seems to get stuck, but it just takes a bit to find peers I guess.. Also, the pool on http://gil.netcoin.pl/ is working perfectly, I get literally 0 rejects (intensity 16), so if you have a relatively low hash rate, but want to mine GIL, go there, it's a nice pool. |

I have a single report, that the GIL client, is causing someone's upload speed, to be maxed out. I cannot replicate the issue, on 5 different PC's. Has anyone else experience this? Or is this one of those customer service things, where the issue is on the person's end, and not the client, but he wants to get all belligerent and stupid, because, oh no, there could never be a problem with his PC.
I think this is a problem of Cryptocoin wallets in general, as for the GIL wallet, I personally never experienced that, got a relatively fresh setup right now.. |

I just joined the pool, but cgminer wasnt able to connect, is the adress "stratum+tcp://gil.miningpool.co:3389" still correct? Also could we have a P2Pool for this one? That would be great, now that the difficulty is going up and it's about to get too high for solo mining.. -------------------------------------------------- Things like that happen at Hostgator when you don't pay your $9.95/month bill. ~BCX~ You are using the wrong link mate, its http://gil-exchange.com/forums/, forums are up and running, registration and everything works. |

Maybe the OP of this thread is a scammer i mean yesterday he made a post about how to set difficult in CGminer and today is he releasing a new coin.. Perhaps he took advantage of the fact that there was no BTC thread about this new coin (there is on cryptocointalk) and made this post to scam bitcoin, the downloaded wallet could be any wallet just renamed..
I think this is scam. And I think that OP is rumbitla ("DEV" of cpucoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=278069.0) This is the guy behind the coin, he has a YouTube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/EndWorldSuckDotComJerry did announce the Coin here: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1092-pre-ann-butterflycoin-bfc-pre-announcement/Now we would need verification if the creator of this thread here is the same person, which might not be the case as he is asking for a BTC donation, which Jerry does not do in the original thread I link, nor does he mention a donation being necessary in his videos! It might very well be that Patches OHulahan here is not the actual creator, but is just trying to take advantage of Jerry's new coin |
