1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going to 2,000 $ soon ? why not ? on: February 06, 2017, 05:52:28 PM
Based on daily chart analysis we are likely to see roughly 6 months of range then a break of the $1150 giving us $1430 -$1490 target .
If the trend continues we would likely retest the previous high say $1490 range for 6 months  before a break to say $1780 ish ,retest previous high $1780, range  6 months then break to $2070 ish.
So based on the only evidence we possess which is current daily/weekly charts and not taking into account any fundamentals The earliest we can expect $2000 to be broke is 18 months.
That is based on the current trend .
Based of of the break of The 2013 high of $260 to $1163 we could see $4000 plus within 8 months but I wont be holding my breath for this event .

2  Economy / Speculation / Re: $200 is on the way on: February 03, 2017, 09:28:47 PM
Price on any instrument always tests previous highs .

April /9 /2013 previous high before we hit $1100 was £260 ish ,we retested it jan 14 2014 .

November/ 1/ 2015 high of $500 ish was retested july 31 2016

June/ 16/ 2016 high of $778 ish was retested Jan 9 2017

You can verify these facts on bitcoinwisdom open a weekly chart the levels are clear  to see .

At some point $1100 ish will be a previous high that we will retest .

Considering some of the very large individual trades I have witnessed on bitstamp I have a strong inclination to believe $1100 will be a previous high within months .
3  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Bitminter client (Windows/Linux/Mac) on: March 29, 2014, 08:03:56 AM
My version 1.4.3 is unable to start .?
When I looked at the clients 1.4.3 was still the official stable client .
Is 1.5.0 now the official client ?

Dear All,

Market orders are now available within the "hitbtc.com" trading Terminal!
You are very welcome to test this feature and do not hesitate to leave a feedback using the form on our website Smiley
Never expected them to be implemented so quick ,well done Hitbtc.
5  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: UK miners on: March 18, 2014, 08:36:36 AM
I wanted to start a business that accepts bitcoin but all the payment processors are eur or usd not one gbp based tool .
If you're wanting to sell stuff for bitcoins and you're a miner then presumably you don't mind holding bitcoins yourself, so why not just:

  • Offer the customer a spot price in BTC for a GBP equivalent.
  • Let them make the BTC payment.
  • Settle up the GBP amount with your business personally.
  • Take personal ownership of the BTC.
?

That is the model currently used by Individual Pubs Ltd, e.g. Pembury Tavern in East London.

You talk about customers making SEPA transfers though so perhaps I have misunderstood what you meant by "I want to start a business that accepts bitcoin"

Did you mean that there are no UK bitcoin exchanges for your customers to obtain bitcoin to pay you in?

If so, I agree, that is an issue.

Still, some UK people do buy on EUR exchanges.

Also some mine to get coins.

Also some buy at e.g. LocalBitcoins or in-person trades.

And it is a bit of a chicken and egg situation - increasing demand for bitcoins will help to build the case for a local exchange.

There was Intersango and Britcoin once up on a time. I understand they had banking difficulties and were forced to shut down.

I hear stories of UK banks being hostile to bitcoin businesses. At this point franky1 may jump in and rant at me again about how the banks are fine and only incompetents fail to work with them, although in that particular case I would happily accept incompetence as the real reason for their failure given who was behind those efforts.

Anyway, there being things to buy locally with bitcoins is just as important as there being ways to buy bitcoins locally. Smiley

Presumably you would allow customers to pay by both BTC and GBP anyway, right?

Its a while since my original post ,Yes my issue was that there is no were for my customers to easily get bitcoin but I think localbitcoins is the answer to that .
I have since made a website with a QR code on the home page so they can easily pay me .

Withdrawals are working even faster today. Took less than a minute.
Got an e-mail to say they had some maintenance but withdrew 0.2 just now and it was fast again.

Edit :All my withdrawals went through flawlessly today .

Shame they do not have market orders ,which is a surprise for a new trading platform.

My question is how does the market move with no market orders to move it by traders???

I totally agree! Hitbtc, are you going to implement market orders?

Secondly, I wanted to ask what amount of coins I can withdraw per day?

One other suggestion is to have an option like Bitstamp were the amount in Fiat can be "ALL".
I have a few $'s a few Euros and a tiny amount of BTC ,simply because you have to specify exact fiat and exact price ,it would be cleaner to have an "all" option Even if we still have to specify price until market order is implemented.
To me it seems very amateurish to have the latest technology yet no market order and will deter lots of potential customers .

Withdrawals of whole bitcoins is working but any fraction of a bitcoin fails.
Managed to make the withdrawals and again they were immediate ,so I think there is a bug somewere in the software .
One other thing that worried me about their bank ,is that it is in the area were there is currently a war going on .
Estonia are mentioned in this Kiev /Russia war any thoughts .?

A market maker supplies the quotes via API and a BOT that change when the price changes at Bitstamp. They are buying at Btc-e and selling at hitbtc doing an arbitrage.
I see thank you .
They just put  a note on my account saying my verification has been denied but I'am welcome to use their platform as unverified, this means I can deposit but cannot withdraw funds .
I just tried to withdraw btc and that failed also .
This is very worrying .

Support have answered my simple request to find out why I cannot move my bitcoin off their exchange with an invitation to be a market maker. Apparently the market you see on hitbtc is supplied by a third party.
What is the difference between a market maker and a normal trader ?
What are the benefits ?
How many btc do you trade for them to ask you to be a market maker ?

Beware people, stay away.  I lost 700 eur.  Don't trust.

Can you explain how you lost the 700eur please ?
Is it recent.
I have sent funds twice which took 5 days , withdrawn lots of times over the last 2 weeks ,initially my withdrawals were intermitant some were immediate and others failed but all my recent withdrawals were instant .
Would be grateful to hear your experience and if you have yet received your 700eur ,I personally could not afford to lose that amount .

Sure

I have sent funds two times :

27/02/2014  350,00  never received

04/03/2014  350,00  never received

Here the proof:

Would you kindly provide additional  details about my transfers ?

six days and nothing on my account. Sepa never take more than 3 business days . You are big liar.

Beware people, do not send large amount.

I must admit I'am very anxious at the moment ,the last transfer I made I clearly stated "client agreement numberxxxxxxxxx" but got an e-mail asking for more information .
I initiated a transfer yesterday and again I get an e-mail saying my last transfer only said "depositing funds client agreement " when the copy I showed them 7days ago clearly shows "client agreemet xxxxxxxxxx"
There is something going wrong somewere either their bank is making mistakes or my bank but I send money other places without issue so I'am thinking something is not right at their end and they are struggling to identify transactions .

Update ,got e-mail confirming all the neccessary info is now included.
15  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Announcing brand new Bitcoin Exchange - hitbtc on: March 05, 2014, 04:10:25 PM
I am still waiting since the 26/02 for funds into bitstamp. Hitbtc were quick to credit funds, usually in 24-48 hours, but if the market is higher than btc-e and they do not fill you then it is time to look at ways to get money into btc-e as they do not take wire transfers from US banks. OKpay may be the way into btc-e. The least hitbtc can do if the market is higher than btc-e is fill your order.
I'am in UK so funds into Bitstamp's euro based bank take 2 days on average .
Hitbtc are euro based but take 5 days .
I know that the first time I sent funds to Bitstamp it took longer but after that 2 days maximum .I sent two lots of funds to Hitbtc and both took 5 days to show up.
I got verified with OKpay but It seemed to be an expensive way to send funds and then Btc-e charge 1% on top of that to accept the funds .
I will have to compare funding methods to see how to get funds to BTC-e the cheapest way ,until they raise their bitcoin price .
16  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Announcing brand new Bitcoin Exchange - hitbtc on: March 05, 2014, 03:07:50 PM
What happened to the cheap bitcoin? You are now more expensive than bitstamp.
Noticed that about midday they went from $630 to $670 with no trades to show for it .
I do not understand how their platform works but it is definitely not actual real trades based ,it must be set to track other exchanges .
I was willing to risk using their unknown platform because of the lower price but it looks like that boat has sailed now .
It takes me 5 days to get funds active on Hitbtc and 2 days to get funds to Bitstamp ,so for now Bitstamp is a better deal for me .

I just maximised my bitminter client and nothing is showing in it except a picture of my windows desktop .
The client quickly becomes unresponsive and I have to close with task manager

A couple users reported running on block erupters locked up the whole client, then they reinstalled the drivers and the problem went away. Could you try that?

http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx

I did re-install the drivers on 6 of them but I will try to uninstall all of them then re-install .
I did try uninstalling the bitminter client but although it has removed it from add/remove it is still in the programs list .

Block erupters ?
Is java up to date ?
Have you tried Devices/ Probe all ports for external devices ?
asicminer block erupters ,they worked fine for months but since Christmas have been losing them one by one until none work .
The client used to show all 11 working at max speed but upon checking the shifts found out they had not hashed for days .
Now although device manager shows all 11 with updated drivers ,the client only seems to detect 6 .

I have 5 in a 7 port powered D-Link hub ,the other 6 are directly plugged into the usbs on the motherboard ,like I say they work well for the first couple months .
when I try to update java it says it is fully up to date.
I uninstalled the 5 that was not getting picked up by the client ,restarted my computer ,re-installed the drivers one by one and still bitminter client will not detect them .

I just maximised my bitminter client and nothing is showing in it except a picture of my windows desktop .
The client quickly becomes unresponsive and I have to close with task manager

New message received today ,You cannot withdraw "Euro or USD unless your verified ".
I applied for verification 17/02 but there seems no outlined limit for how long the verification process takes .
I asked customer service as yet no reply .
I asked here in this thread again no reply .
So since they only opened 14/02 I assume no one can withdraw fiat .?
Currently it is of no use to miners who want to sell mined coins until the verification process is implemented .

I cannot seem to find anywere were Hitbtc is advertised ?

I'am having trouble again ,the asic usbs are all showing in device manager and I re-installed the drivers but out of 11 only 6 are being detected by bitminter client any ideas?
The bitminter client for me keeps freezing and becoming unresponsive so I have to close it with task manager.
