421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Official Sexcoin Thread - Return Of the Zombie Bonus !!!! on: October 25, 2013, 10:51:33 PM
Been mining sxc all day. Checked out the adult video shop, but I was a little disappointed in the selection. Any plans to expand to a broader selection that might appeal to more people?
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is RPool and Beeeeer down? on: October 24, 2013, 12:26:50 AM
How much they pay you doesn't matter, if they keep going down in the long run.
But I don't like to use pools that make you register. I much prefer being paid directly to my wallet.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is RPool and Beeeeer down? on: October 23, 2013, 04:50:38 PM
RPool redirects to feng rui law offices now. I honestly think both beeeeer and RPool are gone from XPM mining pool, don't know what is the issues. Got to check it out over at the XPM forums.
Damn it, I've been mining XPM using the idle processor in my scrypt rigs. I hate ypool, it gives me the least payout.  Angry
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *SCRYPT FPGA* - CryptoIndustries.com - official Bitcointalk thread on: October 22, 2013, 11:10:58 PM
i doubt these fpgas will beat undervolted 7970 by much at all, maybe some weak amount like 30% and yet cost 3x the price. Not worth it.

Agreed.

The whole point of SCRYPT was to hardware proof against ASICS.

Which is ridiculous because asic's can mine scrypt too. The reason people say scrypt is "asic proof" is because the scrypt algorithm requires a good deal of high speed memory which most asic's don't have. A dedicated individual or company could produce an asic based scrypt miner if they design it to provide sufficient memory. We are years away from that most likely. The asic market is just kicking off with bitcoin so don't expect to see scrypt fpga's or asic's for some time
Providing sufficient memory that can be accessed in a timely manner is what makes GPUs cost the price they do. Also, as you increased memory, your savings on power consumption diminish. The problem isn't that you can't mine scrypt with ASICs, the problem is that the efficiency gains of doing so are negligable at best, subpar at worst. People lucked out with SHA256, ASICs could be designed that gave significant efficiency gain. If you check out the FPGA situation, it really isn't looking promising.

And code is working fine Smiley 1Un blocks found properly Smiley
Awesome work!

A few questions:
Is there anyway to cut down on the number of pool difficulty readjustments/work restarts?
How can we reduce the number of orphans/doa?
Will setting up a solo node if our has rate is below 5GH/s help?
In the recent blocks list, what does a blank ID mean?
Is there a reason why Peers graph is broken on the graph page?

Looks like he might have finally gotten it working with P2Pool, the hash rate just quadrupled. Cool
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Unobtanium: Low Block Reward SHA256 PoW Coin - RELEASED! on: October 19, 2013, 01:01:59 AM
Erupters working fine on un.coinmine.pl  Cheesy

mine do too, they use whatever program your using to mine to connect to the pool.

the blades have a built in miner, just plug it into a network cable and give it the details and go, but it doesnt work with stratum so you have to use a stratum proxy. Well this is where I run into problems. I use the stratum proxy to mine bitcoin just fine, but when I put in the stratum details of either the p2pool or un.coinmine.pl it has a TON of rejects and hops back and forth between my main proxy and the backup and the pool reads 14mh/s lol. The blade does 10.7gh/s mining bitcoin.
Have you tried just straight up getwork? I'm pretty sure p2pool supports it.

Have added Unobtanium to MiningPool.co

https://www.miningpool.co

Fixed share diff of 1

Happy Mining!

To users who already use MiningPool.co enable Unobtanium on the settings page.

Does your pool work? It seems as though nobody has gotten any UN from it yet? How many confirms to get a payout?

It looks like 120 confirms there to get anything. I'm mining there too but I suspect something is not right either. We should be pulling in blocks faster with 100 ghash of power.

EDIT:
FYI
Just hit a payout from block number 546 on this pool. So yes they are real and they do happen.

i got payouts too..I am at .00544 right now after 4.5 hours...
The P2Pools are working great and there is no delay in payout from blocks found. We need more hashing power, though.

Yes.

Simple question and simple answer Wink
Obviously, skimming 1/8 is highway robbery.

Ok, testing P2pool for Un
https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav/tree/u120
Will take it to main branch if it will works fine.

Is http://rav3n.dtdns.net:9655 open for business? If so, perhaps it should be added to the OP.

Added! Thanks for your support.
I`m not 100% it is working ok because I cant find darn block using my 2 usb erupters Tongue I have ETA 4h now :/
When it will make at least one valid block I`ll add it to my main branch. I`m also not 100% it will jump to 1Un blocks properly. When we pass 2k blocks and it will not work I`ll change proper line to make it work again.
My node is 1% fee, up and running. But it is my home machine, so can`t guarantee 99.99% uptime.
Just use Un address as username and anything as password.
I`m using latest forrestv P2pool code, so only adding numbers to earlier (less than v13) versions will not connect

It's found a couple blocks now and I just added more power to it. Hopefully, it will find more =)

432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: October 18, 2013, 08:02:51 PM
Yes, only reports 4 miners hashing
and shares are stuck at 6144 for me, at least it looks like they are.

I'll take a look.  Meanwhile we are under DDoS attack again.
Doesn't the pool have DDoS protection?

It will soon.  We haven't needed it until now.
Lemme guess, angry "bag holders" who believe that multipool (and not BTC) is responsible for the sudden drop in value of their alt coin?
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Unobtanium: Low Block Reward SHA256 PoW Coin - RELEASED! on: October 18, 2013, 07:54:46 PM
pool opened - stratum+vardiff, 1% fee

http://un.coinmine.pl
stratum port: 6200

feeleep
It isn't that I'm not grateful, but why must all the pools require registration? Why not a simple p2pool?
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Unobtanium: Low Block Reward SHA256 PoW Coin - RELEASED! on: October 18, 2013, 06:16:25 PM
Quit jacking up the diff and kick rocks then.  You would kill solo mining asiccoin.
Code:
 [2013-10-18 14:13:58] Network diff set to 8.1K

Thanks. You might want to check your html on the frontpage, the imgsrc for this coin is broken.

the diff is shooting up quickly, must be a few hundred GH/s on this already
Yeah, if you only have a few usb be's, it is already looking pretty hard. A p2pool would be nice.

439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BTC][LTC][MNC][BBQ][FTC][CNC][FRC][TRC][P2POOL] P2Pool.org - Check it out! on: October 16, 2013, 10:37:15 PM
Thanks Smiley

No problem.

I just added Novacoin to P2Pool.org also.
The Novacoin/BitBar VARDIFF seems wonky, it stays pegged at sub 0 and causes lots of stales.
Your Digitalcoin pool is completely broken and I think the Megacoin pool might be forked.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MΣC] Megacoin.co.nz - New formula is live on: October 16, 2013, 08:47:48 PM
I want and believe there is great potential for Megacoin to succeed. The main problem is the small amount of communication, it is hurting adoption by the community. Also, i think more people would like to contribute but we may feel uninvolved and do not know how because it seems development is secretive.
I have to agree. Also some of its supporters (bag holders?) are almost cult-like. It's amusing when it is a scifi coin like Offerings, but for megacoin it seems all too real, which is probably turning off a lot of people. Then you have all these animated gifs, which are not only tiresome but  reek of teenage tumblrshits. If you want your coin taken seriously, the community needs to clean up its image.
