To increase user base.

Waiting for your feedback on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=322935.0

These banknotes will be used mainly to advertise Nxt to ordinary people.

Read about Nxt if you don't know what it is.

We are planning to create Nxt banknotes in different denominations.  Each banknote will be a piece of paper with the following parameters

# Width/height -- the same as a credit card with rounded corners (we were thinking about choosing the same size as a dollar bill but Nxt is "more" international).
# Density -- 220 gsm (3 times more dense than office paper)
# Background color -- Slate Blue (RGB = 171A1D in average)
# Main text color -- Ivory (gold color is available but can't be used for printing on Slate Blue Sad)
# Protection -- a hologram (10 variants for 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 NXT denominations), redeemable code under the hologram

These banknotes can be used as paper money but their main purpose is to attract ordinary people.  Someone can redeem a banknote by scratching the hologram and entering the code into the Nxt client.

We faced some difficulties

# Minimum 100,000 banknotes to order (1,000,000 to get a discount)
# Part of the redeemable code can be removed while scratching the hologram, we could choose other background color but Slate Blue looks so cool
# Necessity to stick a hologram increases the net cost greatly, still brainstorming other ways of protection

Please, choose an option how many banknotes you would order.  You will be supposed to pay with NXT to cover face value of the banknotes plus delivery.  Other expenses will be covered with our own budget.

Why do we need a domain?  Bitcointalk.org is enough.

Any other names for Nxt?

Given that scenario, your response makes the assumption that the investor explicitly understood there was a hard cap of 1 btc.

I suppose someone could send coins before we added the cap and then never read the OP again.  They could send coins again exceeding the cap, that would be a very bad idea to "confiscate" these coins.

I let the community to do the analysis and make decision.

Any assets/tokens.

In two months the source code will be released and anyone will be able to join the development.

That is awesome. You should maybe attempt to team-up with the devcoin community, as they are geared towards development and coding. As well as things such as 3D printing and production of space ships.

I had a bad experience cooperating with some ###coin developers.  A lot of time was spent on talking, the outcome did not satisfied me.  That is why now I am working alone.  The things are implemented much faster this way.

My time is a very valuable resource.  Do you want me to spend it on taint analysis and then just send the coins back to a guy who violated the agreement?  I do not like this idea.  Though I can not just keep this coins without giving NXT, the taint analysis is not 100% reliable.  I will decide when all other issues are resolved.

Is there something new about it? Or is it just like the I phone 4 vs the I phone 5? (It's longer and thinner, even though Steve Jobbs said that the Iphone should never ever get longer. So not really the "next generation" of I phone. Smiley Jw

Next week we will test a prototype of a decentralized stock exchange built on top of Nxt.  The very first decentralized exchange as far as I know.

Then we will test the very first decentralized app store.  Then decentralized voting system.  You can extend this list, just add "decentralized" and "built on top of Nxt" to any thing that comes to your mind.

Future is already here.

Hi BCNext, I want to participate in NXT by sending an amount of BTC. I do not understand how to attach the message in the 2th step. Can I send you the BTC using the MultiBit wallet client, and enter the message in the "Label" field?

I use MultiBit instead of qt, because my HDD is almost full.

Thanks in advance

MultiBit will not work.  There was a nice picture https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303898.msg3370401#msg3370401

So if you discover people have sent more than the cap, what happens to the outstanding BTC?

No idea yet.

When do you think will Nxt be released? Still this year?

Next Bitcoin Birthday.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: October 29, 2013, 05:53:39 PM
Ah, this is not critical.  I think I should omit all non-critical exceptions.  I put it into todo list.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Nxt] Open Beta Test on: October 29, 2013, 05:51:21 PM
Thank you.  It's the same bug -- "5.135.165.137" is not updated, I changed the protocol but didn't change its version.

BTW this puts an idea into my mind.  Bitcoin improvement process is very slow, Nxt can face the same problem when it is released.  I should implement Voting System before that to make it easier to come to a conclusion.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: October 29, 2013, 03:14:57 PM
Let me know if you see anything that contains "Exception".  NullPointerException is the worst possible bug.

We already found BufferUnderflowException bug which happens because one of the peers runs older software.  I will add code to disconnect and backllist such nodes.

You shouldn't unpack the zip file.  Download Java Runtime Environment (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html) and type "java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt".
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Nxt] Open Beta Test on: October 29, 2013, 02:02:52 PM
Thank you for the report.  5.135.165.137 runs older version of the client, we will see BufferUnderflowException and BufferOverflowException until it upgrades.

I'll update the OP.
