Oh also - I was about to post about a failover when I got sidetracked on the posts above Smiley

The LA half of the stratum.kano.is node did a double failover at 03:22 UTC (the 2nd time 4 minutes later)

So half the miners on stratum.kano.is will have failed over to their 2nd pool for about 10 minutes at 03:22
Hopefully you all have another *.kano.is node as the 2nd pool so you failed over to here also!

Mine On!

I'm in the east coast of the US.  Is this the best setup?

primary: stratum+tcp://nya.kano.is:3333
2nd stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333

It is so tempting to buy some more S9s now that they're normally priced. Got 2 more on the way for the pool. Hopefully Halong ships my T1 soon too.

Remember new miners: You have to keep growing the hash rate to stay competitive!

It's crazy, a price of a new S9 is almost half of what it was just 2 or 3 weeks ago.  I wonder how many people were buying a ton of S9's just to resell on Ebay at a higher price.  They are stuck with a bunch of product now that's not worth as much as it was a couple of weeks ago.

mining here is a no brainier.
only thing is you need to be patient with the ramp up
after that you will enjoy great rewards

I see people talking about this ramp up, and once again a question from me  Cheesy

What about this ramp up? How long does it take to get fully ramped up.. and when its up, i do get better payout?

I cant ask for much, iam at 23th/s only, but will be adding more soon =)

If you want an idea of what you'll get once you are fully ramped up look up a couple of miners that are using a bitcoin address and look at their payments.  Keep in mind that it changes consistently depending on total hash rate of the pool.  Payment go down as there's more hash but the upside is more blocks with more hash.

How many blocks are expected this month?  The block page has .65 and i was thinking it was between 19 and 20 at the current hash rate and difficulty.

Did one of these 2Pac sticks ever find a block?  I know the odds are crazy high but just curious.

Hello everyone, it's about an hour or so that I'm on this pool .. I have 1x gekkoscience 2pac

At the beginning I started with difficulty 4000 (4K) then the pool brought me "Diff 40" and finally "Diff 20" .. what difficulties can I enter for my hardware Huh?

thanks to all, greetings ultimate64

All of that is outlined in the official support thread-

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1764803.0

Add this line to have it run at 200 Mhz but watch out it will get hot if you don't have a fan blowing on it...lol

The current dust limit is the smallest amount you can spend on the bitcoin network. However even if you get above the dust limit it means you will then get into the queue for a payout in one of the subsequent blocks, but you will eventually be paid provided you keep mining. The only caveat is that blocks are so infrequent at our current hashrate it could be a year or more before that happens unless through some miracle our hashrate gets much larger.

Correct me if I'm wrong but at the current hashrate plus difficulty you should be hitting around one block per month.

Feb has to be one of the worst months in history for this pool. Half way thru the month and we’ve only found one block so far. Last month was 8. This month could potentially only be 2.

or 1

Just added 9T.  Going to stick around for a month or two and see how it goes.
92  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: February 13, 2018, 08:05:07 AM
ok, im going to ask a stupid question... i was looking at how payouts work and i dont understand something, im probably seeing it wrong or im just not as knowledgeable as the rest of you guys are but it says that the top 100 miners plus an additional 50 get paid out when a block is found

  "Each time a block is solved, the top 100 miners will receive a payout while 50 of the remaining smaller miners will receive a payout. Rewards will alternate between the smaller miners according to who has waited the longest for a payout. Rewards accumulate from blocks worked on even if miners are not scheduled for a payout with that block."

looking at the active miners list on the new website i am sitting at around the high 30's out of top 100 and i have 2 postponed so far and im not currently on the current payout list. did i miss something or am i overlooking something?
You are in the top 100 currently active miners. The top 100 share contributors in the last 10 trillion shares are the the ones that get paid. Over time you will eventually contribute a proportionate number of shares.

am I wrong in saying that, 1MEo4aCnSbKA5FaBSVCEPQQYpxRr9MZ4be, going to get around 0.00214289 BTC if a block is found in the near future?

Hello! I just joined your pool with my lonely but hardworking S9 miner, I understand that it's stupid to ask how much I will receive, but what is the probability of finding a block by my miner, with an average speed of 12.8-13.3 Th/s?

Pool Hash rate = 24293141.32 TH/s (02/07/2018)
Your Hash rate = 13 TH/s
Block Write to blockchain speed = 1 every 10 mins.

* Units like yours trying to win a blok =  24293141.32 / 13 = 1868703

* 1 / 1868703 * 100 = 0,000053513 % to win a block in 10 minutes

* 1868703 * 10 mins * 1h /60 mins * 1 day / 24 h  = 13000 days = 35,55 years to win a block

0,000053513% probability to win a block in 10 minutes
0,00032% probability to win a block in 1 hour
0,0077% probability to win a block in 1 day
2,8% probability to win a block in 1 year
100% probability to win a block in 35,55 years

I would love to see this exercise on 7 PH/s

We lost WETSUIT...he is over to help Kano get a block...
I'm sure he's enjoying that, schadenfreude and all that.

But it's not like I can force people to mine here. He dropped off with the datacentre outage and never came back. Not sure if it's just a failover mechanism that has to be manually switched back or whether he's had enough and gone running - which is unlike what he had said in the past about mining here. He constitutes over 85% of the current hashrate so his hashrate would be sorely missed, though he'll still get a massive reward on our next block find, whenever that is.

Hopefully he/she comes back.  It's sad seeing the Thread renamed to 0PH but I guess on the bright side it should be easier to move up on getting paid if we find another couple of blocks.  tbh I'm here more as a hobby than to get paid at this point.  I need more hashing power...lol

Hello fairly new to this. When I am on the solo users page and it shows my workers and their shares, is there anyway to tell on that page if one of my miners found a block?

Thank you.

This page has all the blocks that have been found by people mining solo.  Shares really don't mean anything when you are mining solo.

Welcome to our new miners and thanks to CG and others renting. We pushed above 10PH for a little bit there. Keep on mining Smiley

I just checked and it's at 10.5 P.  Lets find a block!
