How can i set up an image as profile picture?
It seems like it has been disabled since the forum MITM a few months ago, but i would like to set up one so, do i need a better rank as forum member or is that disabled forever?
There is no way you can do that. It is not related to member rank. The avatar feature will not come back before we have the new forum software (expected to be ready in 2015). This has been discussed many times in the past, check the Meta Board. They will be allowed in the new forum software
idk when will new forum software release Please take a look at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=455867.msg5069851#msg5069851

I have re-added my negative trust feedback, since UpDown.BT still hasn't paid everyone. I removed it before, because I said I would remove it once I get paid, which he did. So I kept my part of the agreement (and I really expected him to pay everyone yesterday). Since he didn't pay everyone, I re-added it and I changed my signature accordingly.
Well done bitcoininformation. You are essentially sacrificing your coming sig payment (from Updown or other campaigns) to fight for those not getting paid by Updown yet. I really appreciate your action.

With his wallet.dat, you can see his addresses and tx history. But without the passphrase, you can't spend the bitcoin or get the private keys.

Are you paying for electricity?
Those bits of kit are reasonably juicy and will cause a fair amount of heat.
Do you have a mining account on any pools?
The cubes and the Avalon will need a host machine and software configuring whereas the the S1 will only need a PSU and a network connection to mine.
Electricity = 0.00752 kwh Canada eh. No mining accounts yet still researching to find a couple of safe ones. I am hoping to use the old Dell with window xp pro as a host machine. Still not sure which software I need for this project. S1 miner requires nithing apart from a network connection and 5mins config - well worth doing that first so that you can get mining - BTCguild merge mines NMC as well as BTC. potetially you could earn 0.005 per 24hrs on BTC with just the S1 and sell the others for BTC. At current difficulty, 180 GH/s would bring about 0.005382 btc at 0% pool fee. But, please note that difficulty would go up (could go down as well tho) every 2016 blocks and the number of bitcoin you get would go down.

10BTC is quite something, is it recent ? I could have understand that figure like 2 years ago maybe. Anyways...
The amount "10 BTC" is set in Aug 2011 (you can see on page 1 that this thread was created on August 19, 2011, 08:29:22 AM). But, theymos has mentioned several times that he has no intention to change the threshold.

Should I do Cloud Mining with Cex.io? Will it be any profit? Will I get more back than I bought the GHS's for if I keep mining for a long time?
If you are not going to trade your hashrate on cex.io, you are very likely to get your investment back, because the GHS price will go down in the long term due to the increase in mining difficulty.

its been last 5 days watching over this bitcoin thing and i have some extra cash so i just wanted a suggestion that if i start mining today by buying the hardware would i be in much profit or its just a decent profit?? and i dont have hell of cash its just my pocket money which i would be investing. so finally is it profitable for a beginner to start mining today? and i see the difficulty rate increasing like anything day by day.. if yes plez just suggest some hardware which is ecnomic and will pay back in few months.
Short answer: Nope. You can check the expected profitability yourself for whatever ASICs or cloudmining contracts you can find on https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator.

Not exactly. OP still wants to have half of the usual revenue when he doesn't find the block lol.

Hello,
My sincere apologies. I am a complete novice and know my way around computers in a very basic way.
The story is that i registered with slushes pool, created a wallet and because i didnt understand those command prompt type things i am using guiminer.
Now I can mine fine on the laptop which has a Nvidia geforce GT 520m at about 9 Mhashs's which i read is pretty poor.
I have an average graphics card in my htpc which is Radeon HD6770. I simply downloaded guiminer to the htpc, typed in the miner login details on there and it sits about 130 Mhas/s.
The problem is that in the summary view of guiminer running on the htpc nothing is being accepted or showing as stale... where as on the the laptop if I come back after 5 minutes there will be a few shares and stales.
Am i missing something glaringly obvious?
Thanks for reading.
With 140 MH/s (your htpc+laptop), you can get 0.0000042 btc (420 satoshi) a day on average. IIRC the minimum payment threshold on Slush is 0.01 btc, so you need to mine 6.5 years to get a payout, assuming the difficulty remains constant. Now, maybe you would reconsider your plan.

Hi All members, Am new to this forum and wanted to know of how can I use my laptop to mine bitcoins, is it possible to do so if YES then how, which pool should I join and which client should I use
Theoretically, you can mine bitcoin at a very low hashrate. Realistically, you will just waste your money on electricity costs, and will easily fry your laptop.

SRC is the same as SRCC?
Well, I get a little bit confused about that too, SRC on Poloniex is SourceCoin (SRCC) SRC on Cryptsy is SecureCoin I think poloniex should change it to SRCC in order to differentiate between the two coin OP has tried contacting Poloniex several times before for that. 2) Yes SRCC was once named SRC, that has been changed. We've contacted Poloniex several times, but they are inclined to change the ticker symbol.
And in case you haven't noticed yet, SRC will be delisted on Poloniex today. I see poloniex will be delisted SRC from exchange NOTICE: The following coins will be delisted on July 10th: UVC, JUG, LCL, CC, AC, BANK, GLB, SRC. Please withdraw your balances of these coins as soon as possible. and i see the only exchange that we can trade SRC to BTC is poloniex if SRC be delisted in poloniex, so we will get worthless coin as our signature payment in 25th July? since SRC can't be traded to BTC

Cex.io buying GHs
Enter IPOs like Crypti, SYSCOIN and get in coins like SIMCOIN, QORA, EMUNIE, FIMKRYPTO.
No idea about altcoin IPOs, but it is not a good idea to buy hashrate on cex IMHO due to the high price and terrible maintenance cost.

I paid 0.06 BTC for a pizza today.
A $37 pizza? Sounds like a ripoff to me.

well i think you are in a bit of problem as anyone get your usb and see bitcoin .. and if the user knows that the bitcoins worth dollars.. and he know how to sync that .. then you lost your bitcoins for sure if i m wrong please tell me..!
It is true that the person would be able to see the wallet has xxx bitcoin, but he need the passphrase to spend the bitcoin or get the private keys. (Please check post 7 by DannyHamilton)

Yep Localbitcoin's the easiest way to sell btc => cash, especially if it's a bank transfer. Just make sure to check their feedback and ideally sell to an account that has a phone registered, real name etc
it takes time to arrange something with the trader it's much faster just to sell on bitstamp, you have your money in seconds.. Did you include the time for the verification process? Also, some people prefers to prevent all those process as much as possible.

Everyone who wants Bitcoin to reach high values can do something for it.
I am not talking only about marketing. Try to offer some good or service and accept BTC.
Also, as a customer, you could ask the businesses to accept bitcoin payment. With enough people asking, the business owners would be more and more interested in bitcoin.
