Like let's say someone has 75% of the overall mining power.
That would be an awful lot of hashing power. It would be very difficult and expensive to acquire. Well, the hash-rate is doubling every 50 days or so. So it doesn't seem as far fetched as many make it out to be. Just as I say that Beliathon posts his comment how it's impossible

When we say the govt is printing money, we are not really talking about the paper notes in circulation, rather electronic money (digits in a computer screen) that exists in bank accounts.
Yes, of course. They are not doing that either though. an excerpt from some quick google search result: When the Fed creates $85 billion, it uses this money to buy bonds - typically split 50/50 between US Treasuries and Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS). Here is what's important: When the Fed creates and gives $85 billion in reserves to its member banks, it removes $85 billion worth of assets (bonds) from the balance sheets of those same member banks. The result is that no new net financial assets enter the economy.

The Fed is not printing money, from what I understand.

It's actually not that many weak hands from what I've seen.
To me it looks more like some big people cashing out 1k-2k coins at a time. Surely triggering other sells on the way down. But I don't see big selling from the community at all, it's only some people realizing profits. As far as I can tell, anyhow.

Yesterday I bought a donut, and the cashier wanted one half 0.0000000124 Tera$ from me. I was like I only have a 0.00000000001 Peta$ bill, can you change. So she game me $3.80 in change and life was good once we had settled on a useful unit.

Why does everyone keep posting about the NSA taking over bitcoin. Am i missing something? There is NO WAY that one could achieve 51% of the mining rate. It would be absurd and overall and not cost effective as they would continually have to reinvest in equipment to maintain their mining rate.
The hash rate is double about every 50 days currently. So 50% of current hashing were added in the past 50 days. I think a 51+% attack is super easy if you have the necessary determination and funds.

somehow it's sounds to easy, I doubt any thief with a huge amout of btc, that will trade them just like that directly, and also will be using all sort of means to spread the btc, being it exchanging to other cryptos using other exchange ect ect, another thing, right now it's too hot to exchange the stolen btc, he would either have done it before is there was enough time or will wait a year or two at least
Don't assume too much. A US president got impeached for getting sucked off.
