1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Strange Hash Activity on: August 25, 2014, 06:25:24 PM
What could possibly explain this highly periodic crash in overall network hashing speed?  I think this is not a random thing, but rather some effect due to actions taken by minors.  What is going on?  That is a pretty strong down trend late in the cycle.

The ad didn't mention the cost of the service.
I wonder how many days an S3 has to mine to get just one night with Kandi?

Most of the rest of the staff is busy with issues related to recently beginning shipping, like handling support requests, fixing newly discovered issues with the firmware, etc.

I think most of the staff is working on the SP50.  Cash refunds helps no one.  The only thing which will make Spondoolies customers get back on track is an insane deal and early arrival of the new machine.  I'll take two please.

Spondoolies should spend all the compensation funds getting the SP50 out earlier and more efficient.  Why give cash back?  Nobody wants cash.  They want hashing.  Isn't that clear?

Please, Spondoolies, don't send any money back.  That does us no good at all.  We don't want money - we want hashing.  That is why we came to you in the first place.  Can't you give the people what they want?

You know, this isn't exactly a bad idea.

All customers who bought SP30 would like to have best hashing hardware possible.  Spondoolies has lots of expertise and little cash.  Why ask them for cash?  They will skimp about trying to distribute a cash refund.  A cash refund will cause them to fire some staff and cut some capacity which could otherwise be converted into better future products.

What does Spondoolies have plenty of?  Talent.  Let them pay their shortcomings with something they have loads of.  This way, they won't try to short anyone.  They may even feel bad and give generously.  They won't be giving cash generously.

So, compensation is probably better given in the form of future product rather than cash.

As part of our continuous improvement to omniwallet we are bringing a database layer to omni. This layer should make the wallet much more responsive. The addition of a database also makes integration with other apps easier.

One question that came up in a recent planning meeting was about wallet association. To make the creation of the database simple we did not plan on obscuring the obvious association between UUIDs and wallet addresses and encrypted keys. The current on the implementation contains Json files that live on disk. The files are named [uuid].json. The contents of these files are encrypted using the password you chose at sign-up. Meaning we don't have access to the contents of your wallet currently.

My question: Is it important to you as users of the Omniwallet that this association between bitcoin addresses be obscured. Or is it acceptable that a simple query using a UUID as the key would present a database return of all of the addresses associated with that UUID?

For me, the obscurity serves nothing.  Returning all addresses may even  help with some of the tasks I do.

Omni wallet is freaking awesome.  With a little effort, that thing can be a really great tool.  Anyone who ever made a transaction with MastercoinAdvisor loves Omni.

Keep up the good work.  In the end, Omni Wallet can be huge.  I hope you'll find the energy and resources to press on vigorously.

Can anyone tell me why mastercoin would be around in a year when the foundation will run out of money in 8 months? That is why overstock is going with counterparty.
Counterparty is already out of money.  So in 8 months, Mastercoin will be right where they are.  The head of CounterParty is a hard worker.  The head of Mastercoin is a buffoon with no social skills and probably even less management skills.  No amount of money will fix a project with bad leadership.  Counterparty did all that on zero budget - Mastercoin blew up $5 million dollars making silly payments to each other and nobody did any genuine work under any real plan.

JR should have made it a requirement that for everyone getting paid, a days work ends with a 5 minute progress post in the forum.  You don't get paid for the day, unless you take 5 minutes to describe what it was you were working on at the end of your work day.  This way, we'd all know what was being done when and we'd have all seen long ago where the 'no progress' was occurring.

Hey RoadStress

Do you know when the first SP30 machine of the groupbuy will ship?  What about Spondoolies?  Will they say when the groupbuy machines will start to ship?

Guys: I been testing a few SP10s in a room in my office, normally the temp is 90F degrees because I have 4 of them in a small space. One day it was 100 degrees in there! The end result what the miners worked great, and I am actually moving them to the datacenter today.

Question: What are you thoughts about running this S3 at 80F? 90F? 100F environments? Would they just shut off? I may test today at 80F. The way I make the temps go up or down is to turn on more miners. I have a room for testing, but there is no ventilation in there. Its a big room, but it heats up fast. Would love to hear who is running at what room temperature. I am sure 80F and below is no problem...

I run 4 S3s at 107F continuously for days.  Rock solid.  Graphs to prove it.

Wow.  Great description on how a bitcoin project is funded with $5 million in the Wall Street Journal today.

Can you think of any other ways to get a bitcoin startup project going - by using bitcoin itself?  Very clever.

Market prices are up 50% in three days.  Buying opportunity (at insanely low prices) is now closed.  Back to regular price soon (.25)  After the DEx is proved working, will hit .50 in two weeks.

Is Terpin preparing a news flurry on this?  Maybe his friend can post a blog for another $18K?

well someone guess right..
