41  Other / Meta / Re: Active Mining - New Moderated Thread - Mods please come back on: February 20, 2014, 04:40:18 PM
Moderators very rarely moderate self moderated threads. Self moderation is exactly that, you moderate it yourself (OP).

So even if someone posts off topic etc you won't remove them because it's down to the owner of that thread?
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are under 18's using Bitcoin? on: February 20, 2014, 04:38:29 PM
I have 10 BTC and I'm only 15, lol.

How?!

How not? Kids with gaming PCs + parents paying for electricity + 2012 = 10 BTC

I said I "have" 10 BTC, I didn't say how much I "had" Cheesy

So under a year you have made 10 Bitcoin? nearly 6000 dollars? Shame you can't withdraw yet unless you get your parents too..

he could always go to McDonald's or Starbuck's and trade it with a cop

probably spend it on games and women.
43  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to install PGP? on: February 20, 2014, 04:37:02 PM
I want to instal it but I can't any free versions and a lot of them require you to purchase the software which is like $60.

Given the nature of question I assume you run winblows. For that, use this: http://www.gpg4win.org

It is free.

You assumed correctly thanks for that.

46  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Does anyone want to sell their project? on: February 20, 2014, 04:13:55 PM
Not into the gambling sportbooking sites. I am an American so yeah.

gambling sportbooking sites are best suited for American market considering fiat online gambling is almost banned. Look at most bitcoin sport betting portals and you see that American sports like baseball and football are the most advertised... unlike all normal bookies where soccer/tennis is the focus... as if it makes you wonder why Smiley

but your objection still valid Smiley

It's illegal to gamble Bitcoin in the US.
47  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ARGENTINA - THE 1ST COUNTRY WITH A BITCOIN BASED ECONOMY on: February 20, 2014, 04:12:41 PM
Don't bitcoins go for a few thousand dollars in Argentina right now?

No they don't and what makes you think that the government will be willing to accept your proposal?
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A serious proposal for a replacement non-profitable elected Bitcoin Foundation on: February 20, 2014, 04:10:56 PM
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Mixed reviews so op are you going to be doing this?
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: Celebrating my 200th post with some great news. on: February 20, 2014, 04:09:11 PM
200 activity and 200 posts that's awesome you shouldn't post again just to keep that number.
50  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling Target gift cards on: February 20, 2014, 04:08:20 PM
Why is this in the off topic sub-forum surely this should be in the marketplace.
51  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting forum account on: February 20, 2014, 04:07:20 PM
This is stupid. As a member of EU I have right to request deletion of an account. Is there any evidence in forum rules that I cannot request or I am not egilible to do so? Site owner can still sell my account somewhere if he have access to database even without the knowledge of my password. Dont you think its a bit unfair? People have right to request deletion and site owner must be willing to provide such a option or at least fulfill such a requestvotherwise user can take legal action against site owner. I am not saying I want to Delete just saying that site owner must provide such a option.

I doubt this would stand up in court because the owner is in charge of the forum.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This message was too old and has been purged on: February 20, 2014, 04:05:40 PM
This is impossible without having a pool which stores already guessed things in a database so that each person doesn't reguess and waste a lot of time.
53  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox's new office on: February 20, 2014, 04:03:24 PM
They have taken the money from mt gox to fund a office where they have some football fields and a personal space launch area.
54  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can we de-throne the foundation? on: February 20, 2014, 04:01:38 PM
A lot of utter ignorance about what the foundation does and who it's members are. Of course anyone can start their own organization, or join the foundation. You can lead, follow, or get out of the way.   But a petition from outside of the organization should be ignored, in my opinion.

But you are a member of the Bitcoin foundation so you would say that wouldn't you?
Because it is part of our secret plan? The work the bitcoin foundation does benefits you. They organize conferences, meet with lawyers in Washington to persuade lawmakers about the virtues of bitcoin. They provides a place for the press to find facts instead of making them up.
That is not to say that you should not do it also. I think you should. But it is going to get expensive flying to NYC and DC all the time. Doesn't it make more sense to form an organization that pools our funds and provides a place to debate things?   Something like say... a bitcoin foundation.

Have we got any proof of you doing this? nothing is transparent and that is what is wrong with it.  also you guys focus on the NYC and DC area only? that's hardly anything to help Bitcoin you are only helping Bitcoin in the US you should be looking for international members instead of focusing on one place.
55  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can we de-throne the foundation? on: February 20, 2014, 04:00:18 PM
Please note that, despite the name, the "bitcoin foundation" is unrelated to bitcoin because bitcoin is decentralized and has no leader, no foundation, it is just a protocol. The foundation in no way can force what they want to bitcoin because users can simply happily ignore them.
No need to "remove" them, "remove" from where? Bitcoin is not their property  Wink

That's a good point no need to remove them and another foundation wouldn't solve any of the problems we currently have.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are under 18's using Bitcoin? on: February 20, 2014, 03:57:50 PM
I would be willing to open a account for my kids if they were interested in Bitcoin and limit them how much they can invest so they don't lose it all.
57  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: THERE IS NO TAX and there NEVER be any Tax on Bitcoin on: February 20, 2014, 03:49:54 PM
They tax when you convert Bitcoin into usd though but Bitcoin itself can't be taxed.

Most under 18's have jobs maybe not maximum wage but they have jobs and can pay for thenselves mining equipment is very cheap for mining alt coins and then selling on even signature advertisements are the eqiuvivalnt to real time jobs in the 1st world countries.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A serious proposal for a replacement non-profitable elected Bitcoin Foundation on: February 20, 2014, 03:35:47 PM
I agree that not allowing people with Bitcoin businesses to run for election is a silly idea as they are indeed the smartest within the community.
