I don't think I could take 4-5 months of this type of squealing.

I'm preparing for 4-5 years of this. The BIP for sidechains will be epic.

All of the above, Multis ftw.

There will only be a fork once 75% have moved to XT. Up to that point there is but one chain.  Once the fork occurs, there will be a very rapid migration of the remainder to the consensus chain. There will be no extended period of duplicate chains.

How do you know how long this will take and what the consequences will be in the meantime? Define extended period? As far as I understand it, this is going to be messy as hell and even if the old chain is sold into oblivion in 72 hours, the PR damage will be permanent and who knows who is going to get scammed or which transactions will get completely fucked in the meantime.

The main reason for a short life of two paralell coins, is that liquidity the the all importan statistics. Two coins almost exactly the same is totally unstable. It has to lean to one side or the other, then the one with smaller popularity will take the liquidity hit and land hard.

"As to what will happen if/ when there is a hardfork:

Currently MultiBit Classic and HD both will follow the chain with the most work done in it.
Thus in a hardfork all the existing MultiBit code will follow the 'winner'. This is how the normal one or two block forks (that occur reasonably frequently) get resolved so it should just be the same but on a larger scale.

Both MultiBit Classic and HD connects to Bitcoin Core and XT happily and they should work correctly with larger blocks. The bloom filtered blocks Core/ XT send back to MultiBit are the same - MultiBit is agnostic about connecting to Core or XT."

So all over in about twenty minutes or so.

Hi, can someone please explain why all posts that mention the deleted "Bitcoin is forked" thread or ask for an explanation are deleted? I'm serious, please explain (please don't delete this post).

Sure.

That post itself is off-topic because it is a download link to an alt-coin. The discussion is removed for being a duplicate of the drama that we allowed for three straight days earlier this week.

But the more you understand the world around bitcoin, the more you should become disillusioned about bitcoin as a competitor to the traditional finance system. It is maybe better for a online payment system... But there is no REAL problem with the traditional Kredit-Card / PayPal /Skrill / SEPA system...

Commerce on the Internet has come to rely almost exclusively on financial institutions serving as trusted third parties to process electronic payments.   While the system works well enough for most  transactions, ...

Slow steady growth now.  Days of shooting up are over.

Pah. Growth is slow and steady or non existent because there isn't any demand. If and when that comes back our tits will be blown clean off.

Anybody got this to work yet?

I have a Monero fund already established, and undergoing the initial capital building process (acquiring Moneros). Once we get enough to begin with (the company already has a capital in 6 figures), we can start accepting investors.

What advantage would an investor in your fund enjoy over buying and holding xmr himself?

Do those advantages out weigh the loss of anonymity?

What are you going to do with your Bitcoin wealth once your coins hit upwards of $10,000 a pop?

That depends how much bitcoins I will have. If I will have the amount I have actually (very few) I will change them all because of the fear that the price will go down again and then will send the money at the bank to save for other purposes in the future (like to pay the fee's for the college of my daughters).

The price will go up and down. And up and down again. Would it have been sensible to buy at $10 and sell it all at $165?

After the BOOM of bitcoin, what was the low price it ever was?
I saw it was $124 going through all the threads from the past 2 years. Earlier than that, I wouldn't want to guess. Remember it being said it was $50 but that was at the btc rate increase.

Why do you feel we need a picture of you?

To distract us from what we we talking about. Please just report the post and ignore the user.

Technique #3 - 'TOPIC DILUTION'

Topic dilution is not only effective in forum sliding it is also very useful in keeping the forum readers on unrelated and non-productive issues. This is a critical and useful technique to cause a 'RESOURCE BURN.' By implementing continual and non-related postings that distract and disrupt (trolling ) the forum readers they are more effectively stopped from anything of any real productivity. If the intensity of gradual dilution is intense enough, the readers will effectively stop researching and simply slip into a 'gossip mode.' In this state they can be more easily misdirected away from facts towards uninformed conjecture and opinion. The less informed they are the more effective and easy it becomes to control the entire group in the direction that you would desire the group to go in. It must be stressed that a proper assessment of the psychological capabilities and levels of education is first determined of the group to determine at what level to 'drive in the wedge.' By being too far off topic too quickly it may trigger censorship by a forum moderator.

Anybody can draw a random line to justify any price. That is not a prediction.

OPs line is not random.

But then I made the mistake to click the 1 year chart... Cry  I cri every time.

I'm a big boy, where can I see this 1yr chart?

Just press 1d in the wisdom charts. It's about 14 months of bitcoin prices.

PS: right back at $270. I got a feeling that we're going to mirror the price drop of the past year and a half into a rise unto $1160 in the next 7 months.

If the 1 day chart scares him why doesn't he look at 3 day or weekly? A real yearly chart would really cheer him up.
