It's life Jim, but not as we know it.
Or to put it another way - "Within thirty years, we will have the technological means to create superhuman intelligence. Shortly after, the human era will be ended." Written in 1993 https://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/faculty/vinge/misc/singularity.html

We can use it, and say +/- 2000% I'm sure the models accuracy will improve as the price approaches $500,000 or so.

Well, the price being 252$, it means that everybody who who owns bitcoin thinks that they are worth more than 245$; but, on the other hand, everybody in the world who has some money to spare thinks that 1 BTC is not worth 255$.
You really are not much of an economist, are you ? No appreciation of logic either. Not everyone with spare cash has heard of bitcoin yet.

This is the problem of bitcoin. People steal.
That is a problem with people, a problem of trust which is precisely what bitcoin was designed to avoid. Trust third parties at your peril.

What does it take to get some decent moderation and participation to make this most popular thread more bitcoin friendly without all the shitfest?
New forum software?

I would not spend 50% of my money on something, but once I can buy this with less than 20% of my holdings I will pay the owner bitcoins for it: Would you actually buy it? Or would you say: I'll wait until I can get it for 5%. My guess is these are more fun before the age of 90. And he'll need the other 80% to keep it afloat and live the lifestyle that goes with it. I plan to hire one for the couple of weeks a year I'll want it for.

Protect businesses, protect clients that are investing, and we will have great success, until then , bitcoin will always be considered shady to say the least.
cheers
Who's going to do that? The current regulators are more like accomplices than guardians.

People do not necessarily have to change (I am still not using Linux, but my Internet content is served for 80% or more by Linux servers). The average person only needs a solution that works.
Execution, baby.
A lot of people are, whether they know it or not. Research company Canalys estimated in the second quarter of 2009 that Android had a 2.8% share of worldwide smartphone shipments.[209] By the fourth quarter of 2010 this had grown to 33% of the market, becoming the top-selling smartphone platform,[210] overtaking Symbian.[211] By the third quarter of 2011 Gartner estimated that more than half (52.5%) of the smartphone sales belonged to Android.[212] By the third quarter of 2012 Android had a 75% share of the global smartphone market according to the research firm IDC.[213]
In July 2011, Google said that 550,000 new Android devices were being activated every day,[214] up from 400,000 per day in May,[215] and more than 100 million devices had been activated[216] with 4.4% growth per week.[214] In September 2012, 500 million devices had been activated with 1.3 million activations per day.[217][218] In May 2013, at Google I/O, Sundar Pichai announced that 900 million Android devices had been activated.[219]

Yes. I dont understand why people dream of $10k Bitcoin if they will sell way before it will reach $2000.
Everyone has their price.

So I hope that Bitcoin is contributed to by more than just these types. I also hope that the bitcointalk forum is a poor representation of the participants involved.
Prejudice and preconceptions wont get us very far either.
