For all those who are solo mining remember one very imlortant thing. Only 5 miners can connect to the wallet at one time, if the 6th one tries to connect it will get a rpc error. This is by default for all wallets.

This appears incorrect. I have 9 miners running full time, and 2 more I occasionally use, max 11 total. Never an RPC error.

Guys,
If anyone wants to have a little fun mining MagiCoin, i have a great little rig for you to try.

Minimum of 3 hours, so about as cheap as can be.
Try it, you might get lucky.

Since i'm new to renting out, and just testing, i am only charging for a hashrate of 200kh/s.
This is well below the pool user limits, but actually i'm finding my avg rate is more like 230kh/s.
I've also set the price to 2% less than recommended, so grab a bargin whilst i'm feeling generous.

J

http://rig.rent/rigs/89027

About $6.10/day. That sounds like an awesome deal - for you Roll Eyes

Here's a little reality check on your offer. During this past week, I've averaged 7.1XMG/day, this is with 1 MH of mining power. Let's be really generous and call your rig 250KH, it would have averaged 1.775XMD/day. 1XMG=$0.239093 X 1.775 = $0.424390075/day. Great deal. Let me offer a better deal to anyone interested. I will, because of my generous nature, happily sell a $1 bill to anyone who wants one for just $10  Grin

Why does all this bullshit about high hashrate users persist? If a pool tosses a big user, only 2 things happen. The pool loses some income, and the user simply goes elsewhere. Another pool, start their own private pool, or mine solo. Any of those give 0 change in total hashrate and 0 difference in coin earnings. OK, maybe the hashrate will drop for a few hours before they realize they've been kicked, but that's all.

Do any of you REALLY BELIEVE you can control these users?

I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to get rid of the datacenter/botnet based miners, just saying it ain't gonna happen. Unless you've got a really ingenious method in mind, you are just beating a very dead (and badly decayed by now) horse and making yourself look like a whiny fool.

I think the difficulty should be adjusted in such a way that blocks value never gets below say 10 XMG, this will lead to more guys prefering solo mining and pools like pom rather than minerclaim.

The moment a fixed difficulty is set on PoW OR PoS is the day I simultaneously quit MagiCoin mining and start shit-talking it to everyone who'd listen. That is by-far the worst thing that could happen to this coin, and trust me- This coin has seen a lot of ups and downs... Mainly downs.
I said the lower limit which is like 0.2 magi currently should be adjusted to 10 XMG, maximum limit is currently 40 I think, no matter how less the difficulty becomes this never increases, in the same way, no matter how much the difficulty increases, minimum no. of XMG should be limited to 10 xmg.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
magi rigs for rent with very low one time payments. hashes upto 150khps and duration upto 1 year.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3907169.0

Do this and we'll see exponentially rising hashrate that never stops, just like bitcoin, etc.
The current rewards system doesn't work as well as hoped to keep hashrate (and power usage) under control, but it does work. If the minimum reward was fixed at 10XMG, I bet we'd top 1 GH in under 3 months.

hi all,

Have anyone who is solo mining gotten any blocks sins hardfork and new wallet v1.4.6.2?

I've gotten about 5 or 6 since upgrading to v1.4.6.2. This is solo mining @ 1MH. No big blocks anymore, about .4-1.1 XMG each.

I've just gotten my first reward solo mining after the Fork, 1.2 xmg mining 24 hours a day for the last 3-4 days.
what determines the amount of coin i will get when solo mining?
Before the Fork i got 600-3500 coins solo mining.

Sounds like you've got around 100KH or so. How much you get, whether solo mining or in a pool, is determined by your hashrate, difficulty, and block value. Difficulty and block value vary quite a bit based on network hashrate. Higher hashrate gives higher difficulty and lower block reward. I'm seeing about 2.5-3 XMG/day at 1MH. Earnings will vary proportionately to hashrate, so you can get a good estimate by comparing our hashrates. Of course this can change greatly based on many factors, but still as good of an estimate as you can get.

your lucky to even get a half to a quarter that.

Well... Thanks to the chain issues over the last few weeks and a bit of management during that time (aka pool jumping), power is "paid" for the next 12 months.

kudos to you. alot of other ppl arent so lucky.

No need to brag about it.

The last several weeks have indeed been good. But the best was a few days ago when all the large pools were on the wrong chain. 643 XMG in a little under 12 hours Grin

NOW 200MH!!!!!

I got a feeling the number is wrong, my wallet is showing 217MH total. Still, it seems more like someone trying to make a point than an actual miner. Or maybe seeing if the hack will still work?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: May 17, 2018, 02:57:10 AM
Hashrates !

So much for enforcing limits  no wonder this coin ends up forking everywhere

https://ibb.co/hgyWbJ

minerclaim.net, right now.....

Top 15, lowest one is at 500kH/s, top one nearly 15MH !!!

Can minerclaim be regulated any way or have its right to pooling revoked?

Sure, we'll fine them $5000/day until the problem is solved? Maybe throw the owner in jail for 6 months? Would this fill your need for justice?  Roll Eyes

Or, you could just choose not to mine there if you don't like how they run things. Seriously, will you fucking crybabies ever stop? You want rules, crypto is probably not for you.

No rules? So if your account gets hacked...hey...no rules, right? No problem?

Well, it's up to me to secure my wallet. If I run a malware infected computer and use some cute girls name for a wallet "password", it's on me.

As for what people are running to get those big hash numbers? Nothing special. Just regular desktop or server type computers, but a whole bunch of them. Thing someone working at a hosting company or large school/university. They don't buy the machines or pay the electric bills, so it's all good. Maybe someone with access to a supercomputer, but that's a big risk of getting caught.

Most of us speak english, so be so kind to use it.

We are a world community and people should talk in the language they are most articulate in.

That being said, google has a translate service.
Copy the text, put it in Google Translate.
Most of the alternative language I have seen here is russian.

Make that attempt and you can understand. It is worth the effort.

Also, It may be good to put the translation into English, and do not make fun of those that try, cause translators are not perfect,
but they get you close enough to understand. In the end, understanding is key.

Or the poster could use google translate to translate their post to english which is much easier for everyone.

The posters English is fine, he's using Russian for fun. No problem, google translate works fine.

I guess I just lost 3500 coins because it seems I am on a different chain despite I am only connected to magi's official node

The block height of my wallet is 1823209 where as it seems for magi's official node is 1823364.

So back to poverty !

 Angry

i was worried this would start to happen. kinda why i want joe to tell us the correct chain so the pools can switch/update to the right one.

Unfortunately theres going to be more of this happening.

He told us. His node is the master. Then I mine all day connected only to his node, and he suddenly decides to change to another chain. Complete shit move on his part, which STOLE the coins I had just mined out of my wallet. Vitalek has not stolen, Joe has. His handling of the current mess really makes me doubt he has the skill to fix the current problem or keep the coin viable long term.

The current temporary solution is actually quite simple. Provide a master node that is deemed to be valid. Any chains that deviate from that master are orphaned forks, those that follow it are the valid fork. Everyone can understand that and winning or losing is their own fault. Sadly old Joe even seems to fuck this up.

I have in my magi.conf

Code:
connect=104.128.225.215
listen=0

add node is commented out for the time being (basically the ish from an earlier post)

Wallet is at (at the time of this post) 1823277

Trasma is at 1823132, xpoolx is at 1823148, minerclaim is staying in sync w/ the wallet...

Both Trasma and xpoolx are discovering sequential blocks... Probably safe to say those two are no longer on the "dev split," no?

That is all that is in my mining wallet, and it hasn't updated since 1823113 and it matches my staking wallet so I think Joes node is down.

Not down, he changed which chain he was on. Official chain open to change at a whim. You need to get a copy of the blockchain from a few days ago, then re-sync. Then all will be good, until it isn't.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: May 15, 2018, 03:40:36 AM
Wallet wouldn't sync when developers node came back. I rolled back the blockchain to the last good snapshot I had, from about 8 days ago and re-synced. Guess what? All the goddamn coins I've mined in the last 24 hours disappeared Angry I've been on developers "official" chain only, as we've all been told is "correct" chain and the prick decides to pick a different chain and rob me of my coins. Thanks Joe, you thieving fuckin' asshole!

Oh ho ho, you're seriously trying to blame Joe for this? This entire debacle was Vitalik's doing. Joe is in defensive mode, and I don't blame him. He's trying everything that he can to get control back of our network, and if that means invalidating or rolling back a few hundred blocks, then I'm fine with that.

If you knew that XMG is a shit-show right now and you still chose to mine it with all you've got, then that's your fault.

I was mining on the *OFFICIAL* chain, according to the developer. I would not expect that to get rolled back. Yet for some reason he chose to go with a different chain? You can't blame that on Vitalik. I'm not really sure why any pools were not on the official chain anyway, but that should have been their problem.

Yes, I am seriously blaming Joe. If he says 1 chain is official & correct, stick with that. Otherwise he should just say "roll the dice and take your chances". Were it not for Joe's words, I would have been on the minerclaim pool, as they seemed to be the majority.

lol each time minerclaim fire up, there is a split... Grin this time there are on the correct side of the chain though... (pom pool not anymore)
but this is really getting old...  Angry

so I guess, I need to redownload the old block chain re-sync again...

mean while on testnet.... (what are we testing already ??)

ps: probably too much to ask but can the poolS (notice the S) share their nodes ?? so this stop happening

Minerclaim is on correct fork? But they're about 100 blocks ahead of Joe's node. I thought Joe's node was supposed to be official?

Is joe's node still "Correct? It seems about 50 blocks behind minerclain & poolinfo, but the same as trasmamod.

I don't know what I'm saying is stupid or not, but minerclaim could enforce the hash rate limit per user like some of the others pools, or that's useless?

At least, the hacker/ whales would need to create a lot of users.

And more users means more transaction fees for the pool right?

It's useless for a pool to enforce a hash limit. Whales will just move to another pool, create their own, or solo mine.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: May 08, 2018, 07:40:05 AM
this is crap over 48 hours of solo mining and got nothing from, no staking and nothing from mining.

might have to switch back to pool mining.

Daily rewards seem to be way below pre-attack levels. Probably lots of people hoping to mine those high value attack blocks. Give it a month or 2 to settle down. BTW, I'd recommend a pool if you are much under 500Kh. Average earnings should be the same solo or in pool, but will be very sporadic with  low hash.

I will grieve you, but nothing change with POW hash power compare to pre-attack period. And will not change in 2 or 4 or 16 or 32 month)

That's surprising, last 2 days I've only got 2 blocks totaling a bit over 1 coin. Before attack I was doing a bit better. No tears though, I've enjoyed your gifts Smiley
