I see that Trasmamod and XpoolX are on the same block height as the dev node, and both claim that they're on the dev node, so I think it's safe to mine on these pools.

...has the blockchain split again or what?

We don't know. Joelao95, the developer, isn't too keen on keeping us up to date, though he has gotten better as of lately.
It's an uphill battle, but we will eventually know, or find out ourselves.

As for the drama, I'd just advise that you mute Vitalik. He contributes nothing to this community other than to troll (hence the pages of drama). My little rants here and there don't really help, so I'll be sure to bite my tongue as they say and keep quiet unless it's actually useful to everyone.

Thanks sorry to come out the gate swinging. Just seems to be a lot of noise at times when you need real info and all you read is negative comments.

So I'm guessing the 50 or so coins I've gotten in the last couple hours today are not legit but rather due to additional Russian interference.

Yup. I have 43 sitting unconfirmed that will not make my wallet. But according to our Russian friend, this is "helping" us. I think something got lost in translation. Joe is working on fixing the problem. The best thing that could happen would be for "moron" to tell Joe what the exploit is he found and help patch it. But unfortunately he would rather not help Joe and eventually end up making this coin become a lost project. I really wish there were some what that I could help Joe out. As for now I am being patient and hoping that Joe is on the right page in fixing "moron's" exploit.

Scratch that I now have 49 unconfirmed. (Went up as I typed this post)

All of mine are confirming.  I just got 70 more.

OK well I'll just ignore them for now.   :|

Hello everyone,

Just got on the bandwagoon for Magi the last week, which seem to have been a bad week to join up on.

Strange behaviours with missing transactions,  faulty transactions,  hard forks,  strange levels of rewards,  several mining pools with different netblocks, talks about attack on the magi network.
So much drama on this thread,  yet litte information on whats going on.

I have some questions,  I'm mining on pom.m-hash with what I assume is the normal chain (not test), I like the idea of limit but it turns out there is actually noone enforceing it given the fact ppl mining at higher levels.

The network seem to go bananas sometimes with rewards up to 40xmg/block and even if they get confirmed,  the payout look like its confirmed,  but the actual transaction is invalid.
What is the cause of these reward spikes and did they result in a hard fork of the chain?  What causes these invalid transactions when looking at it?

Sample 1) confirmed transaction in pool,  invalid transaction at chainx  (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/tx.dws?a4a24a491dde695e0fa415bfe3671ec6a40503662e42192348b5d8e266e623aa)
is this the hard fork ppl talk about last night?

Sample 2),   confirmed transaction in the pool,  valid transaction at chainz,  but my address is not there hence no payout.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/tx.dws?1ec0e5ecab4a0bad3a72248f6c0d591ad8b9474823b5b322f36f00506bd61cfb

And yes,  I have tried checkwallet,  repairwallet

I'm sorry I don't think anyone has answered you yet so I will try. I use pom.m-hash as well and this all started about a week and a half ago. I hope I have all this data right! There was a hard fork of the chain. I don't know why to much drama to read back threw. Ever since then the network has been kind of a mess. I know there working on it. I looked at my stats the other day and it said I minded 500xmg in a day and 2xmg confirmed. Mining is probably a little unstable right now but don't quit the coin. Give them just a little time and you will like it. Up till this point everything has been stable on my end.

What I do not quite understand is how the community is growing at the moment and whether new users are coming? On social networks saw an announcement that the development team is trying very hard and working on new improvements

It's probably grown because a lot of people like myself have been enjoying the network without saying anything. Now that there is a issue we are becoming active to either help or be negative.

For everyone mining on xmg.minerclaim.net, I would highly recommend that you temporarily stop. Until Minerclaim can get back in sync with the dev node, you are mining thin air. The dev node is currently at 1823113, whereas Minerclaim is at 1823252. They are ~100 blocks ahead of where we should actually be.

...though I do find it strange that on the dev node, shit hit the fan with the block reward, yet in Minerclaim, they seem to be in a blissful bubble of normality. Everything is so confusing right now.

Having issues with joe's chain, not updated in over an hour.

Getting "weird" output in the debug log.

Looks like someone connected with an older blockchain and it's throwing errors.

My node is now getting a "connection refused" error to joe's node.

Think I'll turn my wallet off for the night, restart in the morning...

Just for the fun of it, I'll do a portscan to see if Joe had mistakenly switched the port. All my miners are getting stratum_subscribe timed out errors on Trasmamod.

Edit: I'm getting intermittent stratum_subscribe timed out errors on my miners, and my wallet keeps disconnecting from the dev node.
Edit #2: Lol, looks like Vitalik is having a blast on his fork back at CryptoID. Too bad none of it's real.

Wallet wouldn't sync when developers node came back. I rolled back the blockchain to the last good snapshot I had, from about 8 days ago and re-synced. Guess what? All the goddamn coins I've mined in the last 24 hours disappeared Angry I've been on developers "official" chain only, as we've all been told is "correct" chain and the prick decides to pick a different chain and rob me of my coins. Thanks Joe, you thieving fuckin' asshole!

Oh ho ho, you're seriously trying to blame Joe for this? This entire debacle was Vitalik's doing. Joe is in defensive mode, and I don't blame him. He's trying everything that he can to get control back of our network, and if that means invalidating or rolling back a few hundred blocks, then I'm fine with that.

If you knew that XMG is a shit-show right now and you still chose to mine it with all you've got, then that's your fault.

I have in my magi.conf

Code:
connect=104.128.225.215
listen=0

add node is commented out for the time being (basically the ish from an earlier post)

Wallet is at (at the time of this post) 1823277

Trasma is at 1823132, xpoolx is at 1823148, minerclaim is staying in sync w/ the wallet...

Both Trasma and xpoolx are discovering sequential blocks... Probably safe to say those two are no longer on the "dev split," no?

Either the dev node is having some serious connectivity errors, or my wallet is having issues. My wallet is at 1823113.
