Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: future of NEO

NEO is an interesting coin. Many people compare it to ETH however ETH has 17TX/s whereas NEO has 1000TX/s. Also they have recently updated their documentation for Smart Contracts on their site to quite good english compared to before. I think this coin honestly has the potential of doing better than ETH. Regarding the Chinese bans - this may or may not effect the coin. There's no reason the team can't work overseas. And besides, isn't the whole point of blockchain tech to be decentralized anyway so governments can't shut things down?

I agree there is a restoration beginning, but you should be careful looking at daily charts. If you look at the monthly charts, there wasn't much of boom or a crash - it was more or less even. I mean the market cap of crypto is up hundreds of billions of dollars compared to what it was months ago. How could that possibly be the sign of a crash? It isn't, just a correction. I recommend looking at logarithmic lines to get a better idea of the general investor sentiment regarding crypto.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: BCC - lie

Here's the thing.. people were warned for months that BCC was a pyramid scheme, and even the creator of the ANN thread here had red trust, however people got greedy and ignored these warnings. Why should the entire cryptosphere suffer due to these people? Yes it's unfortunate, but it should be put down to a lesson learned by investors for next time.

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Sell all to USDT when everything goes down ?
|
on: January 18, 2018, 02:41:09 AM

Like others have said, it's difficult to trust Tether since a lot of this is printed out of thin air without any proper audits anywhere. In saying that, when the market is crashing, it might be worth taking the risk in converting to it until the market recovers. Another option is to sell your coins on an exchange that holds as USD (their own books) instead of USDT (tether books). For example Kraken or GDAX.

EtherDelta no longer loads for me, the coins simply show a spinning circle indefinitely even if they're left for hours. Ever since the new owners took over, the exchange has become literally unusable. As someone else suggested, idex is a good alternative but it has low volume. However if we can all agree to stop using EtherDelta and switch to a better exchange such as idex then this issue is easily overcome. Change always starts with us investors.

Airdrop tokens aren't a priority for most teams. They're normally distributed along with the bounty campaign after the ICO takes place (if there is an ICO). This means the drop could take months. How long have you been waiting exactly? Only some projects such as DeepOnion will airdrop the tokens consistently and within a guaranteed timeframe, most others will do this eventually but not urgently.

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you all in when trading?
|

The problem with the "all-in" strategy is you trick yourself into believing that you could have pulled it off in the past with hindsight. Let's say you invest in 5 projects, and one of them moons. You can convince yourself that you were really planning to put more money into that one project but you didn't. In reality you probably would feel the same way about any one of the 5 projects if they mooned and convince yourself that that project is the one you were really planning to choose above the others.
Try it now with a future project, just pick one but pretend it is your "all-in". This is the best test to determine whether you have the market knowledge to actually pull this sort of strategy off in the future without proper diversification. You might be surprised that your picks aren't as accurate as you may think (although for some of course they are - you must test yourself to find out).

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Telegram the new measure of ICO success?
|
on: January 16, 2018, 08:35:04 AM
|
Not really, I personally invested a lot in AChain whilst it was up, only to see it go crashing down this last week over 60%. The telegram is very active however like most telegrams it's simply filled with speculators discussing price and exchanges, with little discussion about the actual project itself. I prefer discord where specific channels for speculation are kept separate to the main channels relating to the core project discussion. For me Telegram is just a flood of speculators.

I'd say many airdrops are legit however it's up to you to do the research on the team and at least read the whitepaper before joining them, since no doubt they'll require you to post to your facebook and twitter. You want to make sure your recommendation to others are trustworthy.
