61  Other / Meta / Re: Competition merits reward, need sponsors Legendary, Heroes, Sr., Fully on: February 07, 2018, 09:35:58 PM
Why would sMerit points be awarded for promoting bounty campaigns? They're supposed to be granted to users who publish quality posts on the forum.
Or am I misunderstanding something about your proposal?

You're not. I don't get it either.

In the words of the venerable and ancient eastern philosopher...

...wat?

Мы все станем богатыми!Ураа!

Well, we might not be Smiley But you take your positivity where you can find it. Make sure to post a picture of your Lamborghini here!!

I really like this thread!

(EDIT: I don't know whether to share my story or not. In short, I ended up with $30 I didn't know I had, and I am building on that now. There are a few upsetting things along the way though... I'll mull it over Smiley )

Updated with this "community-voted" crap.

You still won't win.
64  Other / Meta / Who wields the Banhammers? Do we have enough? on: February 07, 2018, 07:39:39 PM
Hi all,

Just want to open up a conversation about mods, and user-bans.

The recent introduction of the merit system was a major step forward (in my not very humble opinion), towards a useful forum, free of spam. The trust system was all we had before that, and it didn't really fit. I was a bit passionate about that in threads like this one. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2806313.msg28705551#msg28705551

Am feeling like I was a bit harsh now, tbh.

I get what the DTs were doing, discouraging spammers by tagging them early so they'd just delete. But the problem was that it diluted the value of the "scammer" red mark of plague. Which, to be honest again, is valuable.

With the merit system out there, and the DTs on low-alert, the responsibility is largely falling on the mods to identify (or react to reports) and ban these spam and scam accounts.

Do we have enough mods? Can they cope? Does this need review?

Thoughts welcome.

H.

PS: I am not volunteering. I am but a junior, with a pacifier in my mouth, still, and an attitude to boot. You probably don't want me. I'd do some fucking banning though, there is that. Trading boards....om nom nom. Anyhow Tongue

65  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Traders 'pump And Dump' Cryptocurrencies on: February 07, 2018, 06:18:16 PM
I recently had a little look into the Pump and Dump world - needless to say, I am not en-Lambo'd after it.

I posted my experience on the Beginner board, but it seems relevant here:

66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to trade your BTC for ETH, or trade your ETH for BTC on: February 07, 2018, 06:11:58 PM
Please do not use this site. It is a scam, and you will lose your coins.

OP, hopefully your ban is incoming soon.
67  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: YoBit Scammed 10.1 ETH - SENT and never CREDITED on: February 06, 2018, 08:28:49 PM
Do you please have a screenshot of YoBit generating this payment address?

I mean, we can see that the 10.1 Eth clearly reached that address, and was never withdrawn. It's still sitting there.

It seems very possible that you have made an error here.

Don't misunderstand me....I think YoBit appear scammy as hell, but that is just my opinion, and I don't see proof here.
68  Other / Beginners & Help / Amazing intro-article to technical analysis (credited crosspost) on: February 06, 2018, 06:32:37 PM
Hi all,

For those of you seeking some insight into technical analysis (TA), this article by Wolf of Poloniex might help. Important to say that this guy is not me Smiley

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@wolfofpoloniex/bare-basics-of-trading-cryptocurrency

It gave me a LOT of areas to read into, and I like the writing style. He's a bit cocky though Tongue

69  Other / Meta / Re: Quick question - can I crosspost from Reddit? on: February 05, 2018, 07:44:01 PM
And this is quote from Bitcointalk rules:
Quote
This includes both copying parts or the entirety of other users' posts or threads and copying content from external sources (e.g. other websites) and passing it as your own.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
So, if you want to post content from Reddit discussion, you have to quote it and give reference link, as actmyname said.
And I recommend to read rules of Bitcointalk to be sure what is allowed here and what isn't
Now you can just lock this thread, there is no need to delete, maybe someone will find it useful Wink

Perfect, thank you very much Smiley Locked!

1 - I don't have coins. Not many. $140 at the moment in total.
2 - You're not helping so far, you're just posting "look at me" crap.
3 - Nothing wrong with sharing with beginners. That's awesome. But, you know, share something.
4 - I consider myself a beginner.
5 - You cannot share a link to an exchange? Is it secret? Why would this be? Is it a scam?

Bored now.

Post something worthwhile, or stop. I frankly don't care.
71  Other / Meta / Re: Quick question - can I crosspost from Reddit? on: February 05, 2018, 07:21:18 PM
Quote and reference. If you do that, then all is good.

Perfect, thank you very much. I don't have any wish to plagiarise, just some good content on there at the moment, which I think the Beginner's board could use.
72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners Trading (how to start trading with little money) on: February 05, 2018, 07:06:53 PM
I'd love to see you lay out your strategy for trading. Turning 70 Doge into 3500 sounds like fun. How do you do it?

Buy low Sell high! Smiley

Fuck me, he's cracked it, guys.

Goddamit I knew I was missing a fundamental issue.

This is why I have to keep peddling if I want the computer to stay on while I post.

Don't be me, guys, this man is a guru. A sage. A visionary. A soothsayer. An oracle. A master.

Without him, we're lost.

And please without stupid reply as the previous one.

Right, let's look a bit more closely. So that I can avoid stupid replies.

For trade you need bankroll, but it does not have to mean a lot of money for start trading (on cryptocurrency trading sites).

Valid comment. I'll agree with this.

My proposal for beginners is to start trading on DOGE market, with small amount of DOGE (10,20,50,100 DOGE)/(0.04$,0.08$,0.20$,0.40$).
From personal experience: I deposit around 70 DOGE on DOGE market and start trading, a little over a week ago I had over 3500 DOGE .

Here I am rubbing my hands together, waiting for the big secret. Bless me with your wisdom!!!

Minimal for trading on DOGE market is 10 DOGE.

OK, I can handle this. I've now gone all-in and staked $0.50. My future finances are in your hands, master.

If you can not find DOGE market contact me on PM.

Wait, what? Is this bit not free? Why must I PM you?

This post I connect to my old post
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2877160.msg29579016#msg29579016

- Claim coins on Moon faucets
- Convert to one coin and withdraw
- Invest in DOGE market and trading.

Ahhh, I see, THAT thread must be where the magic is. I think it's awesome of you to link it again, in case we missed it.

Wait, I read it, and it's a faucet. How did this help me earn 50x my coins?

Soon more tips for beginners.

OK, I can see your enthusiasm. However, it appears that in a fit of generosity, while you were bursting to share your knowledge with us all, so that we, too, can drive platinum moon-Ferraris, you might have forgotten the actual TIP.

This post has zero value.
74  Other / Meta / Quick question - can I crosspost from Reddit? on: February 05, 2018, 06:49:13 PM
Might be my material, might not be. Some good posts on the Cryto board there, and I'd maybe like to reference some.

Is this allowed?

(will delete post when answered, and thank you for your help!)

I have issues with this post.

It contains no information on trading, on research, on methodologies....not even an exchange. Instead, it is a shill for your other post, and I cannot see for what purpose. You didn't even put in referral links (EDIT: Which was frankly stupid. If you're going to shill, shill properly, dammit). Why the hell should anyone have to PM you? If you plan to post good info, then POST it.

In a word: wat?

This strikes me as a pure merit fishing expedition, and I don't like it.

The only winner here is the leader of this pump and no one else.

That's exactly it.

There's a new trend now of "community-voted" pump and dumps, and I plan to update the OP when I've finished my notes on this. Also horrific, but better disguised.
