Any Bettings Via BTC?
Yeah there are few sites where you can bet, but only if you want to do it..! but i don't think its legal in India..! is it.?

quick question: is betting in India illegal or are they chasing match fixers?
Betting is illegal too I think.! except few states, like Goa and Sikkim..! correct me if I'm wrong..!

Offshore Goa and Sikkim, but there is nothing in the legislation about online gambling Wink
It is something that I had discovered recently. There are very few gambling sites in India that do get shut down and they get shut down only when they steal someones money.

Would be good to explore this deeper to see if this is a FUD area as well.

This is the info i'll like to Quote
"The Constitution of India (Seventh Schedule, State List, Entry 34) gives states the right to create their own laws and policies regarding betting and gambling. Therefore the primary responsibility of regulating physical premises based betting and gambling is with the state. Most states have made laws prohibiting gambling but two states, Goa and Sikkim; have legalized many forms of betting and gambling. But when it comes to online betting the ambit of this Entry 34 becomes murky as legislations pertaining to Information Technology vests with the central government."

Benson, how about we create a online Betting Website and host it at Betting friendly country, Lets say Britain.
How does the Law come into effect then?
Do we have to pay taxes or other thing to Britain.? Even if we only use Bitcoin.

I wonder...

210  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage, quite profitable BTC investment, make 1-3% ROI per day on: April 01, 2014, 06:14:12 AM
Arbitrage is a good oppertunity, regulations get into the way. Every exchange have several different polices. And the time taken to do the transaction have to be taken into consideration.

alt. Coin arbitrage is easy, but less profitable

214  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Electric bills for mining on: April 01, 2014, 05:58:39 AM
Ive heard of people setting a hole near a street lamp and running a wire into the setup.   this was not mining but drugs but its a similar deal in needing lots of elec

would it be worth the risk because, drugs is illegal so you can use such illegal activities to get the electricity .
But bitcoin on other hand is legal and these would just get you caught.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay DELETED my auction for Avalon Miners because I accept Bitcoin! on: April 01, 2014, 05:51:33 AM

216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay DELETED my action for Avalon Miners because I accept Bitcoin! on: April 01, 2014, 05:47:02 AM
EBay, and Apple thinks bitcoin as there rival and uses what ever they can to suppress it. And yours is just a case of the same,.
Mentioning alternative payment methods won't get your listing removed. But you'll have to talk outside the eBay personal messages. They might be watching it.

So do they have people screening every auction? Or is there some automated process that just sniffs out keywords that violate their payment terms?

How do they filter out stuff like this?
no they dont have the man power to screen every auction. Its automated word filter that flashes the red light then they go on to work to screen that auction.
or someone might have reported your aution. That can also happen.
217  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Earth hour. does anyone mining care? on: April 01, 2014, 05:40:53 AM
Well to be true it would be a good oppertunity as you pointed hash power will be lower. But my mind would not agree to it, so I would be shutting done the mining... You know I love my mother earth :p
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay DELETED my action for Avalon Miners because I accept Bitcoin! on: April 01, 2014, 05:32:24 AM
And as mentioned by priest ... You might also have to use escrow as well to support the purchase, because only then the buyee will be able to have trust. As we all know bitcoin payments are not reversible
